I think this video is a valuable prospective from a man who’s using the tool to earn his living and his opinion matters to me.

As a complete tourist, finding all these videos for the first time because I picked up the Arc as my first multitool.... REALLY NICE to see a video without all the whining and bitching. Seems like a great tool. Thanks for the pocket clip screws tip.

Hey bud, good on you for putting small hardware in the empty pocket clip holes. Looks so much cleaner and completed. I will be doing this. Black oxide 2-56 thread 1/16”. I’ll be rummaging through my rc hardware boxes. McMaster Carr pack of 25 for $12.50? Meh, ok. If I can’t find anything else.

We should get a few people to split the cost and just send them cheaply in an envelope via USPS. I am interested in getting 2 to fill the holes.

I have a gen 2 surge an have had no issues with my cutters on hard wire when used at work or home, kinda bummed about the Arc cutters an well the newer Leathermans lately, they need to go back to the cutter's they were putting in their tools.

An also get their quality control on par,I like Demko knives, how he only releases so many batches to keep quality control,I love the ad20 in s30v or the other one that is a smidge better than s30v,there pricey but worth the money with the shark lock .

The only actually issue i have with the arc is the cutters and that seems to be more an issue with all leatherman cutters atm not just the arc.
The price is high but it's magnacut what else would you expect.
I don't personally like LM bits (prefer the driver on the rebar) because they are more likely to strip but they are much easier to carry a full set so the convenience is there.

@@DanielVergara-lw1ur well, that’s unfortunate. We may need to stop buying the cutters directly from Leatherman until they fix the issue. I’m going to go online and try to order some from another retailer. Maybe they have older backstock

Personally, I think Leatherman's flat bits kind of suck. I've actually broken 3 of them. That being said, bits are supposed to be considered expendable. That's sorta the point of them. If you break it, you just put a new one in. I will NOT carry a multitool that doesn't have some sort of replaceable bit system. Would I like if they switched to a normal bit driver? Sure, but it isn't really that big of a deal.

I’m not satisfied with it. The tabs that align the sides when it’s folded dig into my hand when I’m using it as pliers. The Wave is comfortable to use a pliers. This isn’t

Broke the cutters on my Arc today just cutting bailing wire. Even Gerber's bunk ass carbide cutters can cut bailing wire without failure. I tested all my other Leatherman tools purchased post-2022 and the Arc is the only one that has had a cutter failure. My Arc also came with a crazy dull blade and a lot of frame flex so my excitement for what I thought was a perfect tool to go in my dual sport's compact tool kit has turned into serious mistrust and a lot of regret for the money I spent. I considered a Charge but the Wave (pretty much a less premium charge) pinched the hell out of the meat of my big ass hands between the blade and saw whenever I used the wire cutters so the Arc having the right tool set without the risk of mangling my hand when I'm hundreds of miles out in tje wilderness seemed like the way to go. Boy oh boy was I wrong

Honestly if you aren’t using it wrong, you know if it needs warranty work on the first day after a good inspection. A lot of people abuse leathermans warranty. 230 isn’t that much so I don’t mind voiding it if I want to add my own stuff.

I always enjoy a diverse set of opinions across the board... But sometimes? tuning into someone who sounds just like a voice for one's own opinions is very comforting! I really like your insights and agree 100% lol. Funny thing to me is, one of the things I love about leathermen are the bit kits, the extenders, the ratchet, the cases... I got the best carrying cases on their site for a pittance... With the bit/kits You can have a variety of sizes on the fly! Easy to carry, If they break... the world goes on. Like you say, the bits are to get one out of a jam...
I am personally not a fan of the leatherman multi tools in general, but I think they did a great job on this new tool... I would buy it.

No, I disagree. Multitools are made to deals with on-the-go tasks, when you don't have the right specialized tools with you. They have to be strong enough to support that, especially high priced US made MT with good réputation...
Leathermans are overpriced, not just because warranty is part of the price, but because nowadays this company is more focused on benefits and marketing, than on quality and customer satisfaction.

    • @raphaelg8801

Proprietary bits which are softer and softer, or cutters which crack when cutting coat hangers are perfect examples...

    • @adawolf9483
      @adawolf9483 Год назад +1

Funny though that the original idea of Tim Leatherman was to have a tool capable of being used and yes, sometimes abused to solve problems like leaky hotel plumbing and road-side fixes of cranky cars. Nowadays the overpriced products need to be pampered and the users need to have a degree to properly use them.
