Thank YOU!!!! I had an intricate turtle to cut and weed for an orange dress I'm wearing on my Honeymoon Beach trip the honeymoon is 2 years delayed due to my liver transplant then 11 months later on my first anniversary I had a kidney transplant so now I have authority to travel and we're finally going to celebrate the turtle first cut the normal way was taking forever and I couldn't even see the cut lines once I saw your video I used another piece of vinyl and it came out 100% perfect thank you
Hello! I am trying to cut some intricate designs similar to this one here, however I keep running into a problem where my cricut keeps messing up the cut. My machine is tearing or dragging through my material. I have tried alot of troubleshooting steps however, still when it comes to small letters or numbers even, this happens. I was wondering if you have ran into this issue and how you may have been able to solve the problem? I really appreciate your advise. Thanks. -Chris
I have tried a few methods (laying transfer tape on the mat first, ironing directly onto a shirt from the mat) with mixed and mostly bad results unfortunately...
Yes, instead of cutting it on the HTV setting and then weeding out the cut pieces, you overcut it using the glitter cardstock setting which cuts all the way through the carrier sheet leaving all the weeded pieces on the mat...no weeding!
Wow! I've been avoiding doing some of these beautiful mandala designs for that exact reason. Now I have to try them! Thank you 😊
Try it and let me know what you think!!
Brilliant!!!
Sound the trumpets for this woman📯📯📯

Do you have any hacks for weeding oracle 651 vinyl? Thanks!
Mind BLOWING
Haha...I still love it!
So is the iron on part against the mat or is the carrier sheet on the mat?
Are. You. Kidding. Me??? I've been doing this for 10 years and this never occurred to me... thank you SO much!!!!!
Ha! For the right project its definitely amazing!
I was wondering if you could use the carrier sheet as a stencil and you said it! Love that you’re using every bit of it!
I can't wait to try it with my daughter!!

Love this 😍 Way better than weeding, although weeding doesn’t bother me 😂
Fair enough! Some people love it. Me? Not so much... 😂
Any tips on weeding intricate designs using permanent vinyl?
I hate weeding permanent vinyl (and almost never use adhesive vinyl because of it). I wish I had tips....

Hi! My best advice is to make sure you are using a new/sharp blade! I hope that helps.
Can I do this with adhesive vinyl?
No because adhesive vinyl doesn't have the carrier sheet on it to keep all the pieces together....
Where did you get the book that tells you what temperature and how long for desired shirts?
It came from Poli-Tape.
Does this only work with HTV or also regular vinyl??
I have not tried it with adhesive vinyl yet.
Is there a way you can pick up what's on the cutting board and use it as well?
I have tried a few methods (laying transfer tape on the mat first, ironing directly onto a shirt from the mat) with mixed and mostly bad results unfortunately...
THANK YOU!!!❤
You're welcome!!
Good video
Thanks for the visit!
Hack CONFIRMED
Project: Mandala heart with "love" script in the middle
Cricut Machine: Maker
Material: Everyday Iron On
Maker Level: Beginner
I'm so glad it worked for you!
What is the carrier sheet ? Sorry I am new to cricut 😊
It is a clear sheet that is attached to the HTV.
Do you still place permanent vinyl face down?
HTV yes, permanent vinyl No.
Where can I find the Beast mandala you used??
I got it on Etsy. Search for "Beauty and the Beast mandala"
So do you cut your design on cricut then you do what steps please
Here is my full tutorial: www.theuselesscrafter.com/tips-tricks-hacks/amazing-no-weed-vinyl-hack
Is there an easy way to clean the mat?
I just use a big scraper and it comes right off.
You have to take off the backing right? I looked at both your videos on this and I didn't see you do that part.
Do you mean the carrier sheet? If so, yes, that comes off when you press the design.
I’m missing something? How is this any different? Is it only the setting?
Yes, instead of cutting it on the HTV setting and then weeding out the cut pieces, you overcut it using the glitter cardstock setting which cuts all the way through the carrier sheet leaving all the weeded pieces on the mat...no weeding!
This didn't work for me :( I realized the pieces in my Zentangle sewing machine design were not attached.
Aww bummer! Yes, unfortunately it only works if the design is all connected.
Thank you so very much. Excellent step-by-step instructions.
Glad it was helpful!
