I know this episode was based on a Superman story, but it's so much more meaningful as a Supergirl one. Clark came to Earth as a newborn - he has no memories of Krypton - he can grieve for it like he can grieve for anyone who's died, but it can't ever be the visceral, tearing loss of her world that Kara feels.
I keep re-watching this scene because it is so awesome. Chyler acting her socks off for 2 minutes straight, such a terrific performance. Outstanding 👏👏👏👏👏🏆🏆🏆🏆
the mood switches immediately after her Mom says she's not allowed to leave. in the JLU/moore version we are moved to tears until the black mercy leaves superman as krypton blows up again. And he is not very happy.
