Roger Taylor - Man On Fire (Live in Truro, 1994)
/ queenofficial
This is the venue in which Queen played their first EVER concert in 1970
Roger’s secondary school
@@tralai2167 For real !?
@@dawsonrose8489 of course not, it's Truro's City Hall, not Truro Secondary School.
But the fact is Truro (Cornwall) is where Roger grew up, so in the early days of Queen, they started there (with a lot of help from Roger's mother).
@@tralai2167 Roger went to Bosvigo and also Truro School with my dad & remained great friends till dad passed away, and not Truro Secondary School, this was recorded at the City Hall which saw the very first Queen gig played.
@@stevev111 oh that's so cool
ty for clearing it
This song suits his voice so well. What a performance! 💘 💖
He's come a long way since the days when I remember him in the Truro School Prefects Room where he used to monopolise the toaster and play some great records - Family, John Mayall and the like!
How awesome 😊 were you in the same class?
@@jackylovesyou98 No he was a year ahead of us - and a 'day boy' so managed to go out on 'parole' over the nights and week ends unlike us borders - presumably being creative with his sticks. Some bios put him in Truro Cathedral school- he wasn't - it was Truro School.
Jonathan Hobbs thank you, hard to make out what he was really like growing up, as there are so many stories out there. Thank you so much for answering again 😊
@@jackylovesyou98 Even back then I think it is fair to say he was (in the language of the day) quite 'cool.' - certainly not main stream and certainly did not join the School Brass Band like the rest of us - but went his own way. That's a bit of a shame as I could then claim to have played with him ! (A pity Queen had no need of a trombone play!) We went to see Reaction and Smile a couple of times in Truro - and even came across him at HS Kensington Market (I think with Mercury - but that might just be my memory getting imaginative). A correction to my earlier comment - he was apparently at the Cathedral school - but that was when he was much younger- he moved to Truro School around 5th form. I will see if I can dig out any old school photos with him in them- but will need to do some archaeology in the garage before I can do that!
Jonathan Hobbs I’m sure it would have been a blast to accompany them with the trombone haha ☺️ wonderful memories as it seems, you are really lucky. Unfortunately I’m only 21 and sadly wasn’t able to see them in their "prime” days. I’m sure all the girls were after him as well, still are (including myself haha). Would be amazing if you found some old pics and would be willing to share. 😊
I was there, great gig! Didn't realise it was being filmed.
I can't listen to this without singing along and rocking out 🤟🎼♥️
It's his song so he knows what he's doing with it, he's the best person to know what to do with it, but I wouldn't have arranged it like that at all. It's missing so much compared to the album version but it's hard to say what.
Actually he forgot The first part and tried to fill it with The second one. He sang that twice.
1st time seeing him playing guitar
Me too
WHO'S PLAYING THE DRUMS THEN
He actually owns more guitars than Brian does apparently
@@SuperZiggyCraft is it weird to own a guitar and cant even play one song? *slowly backs away*
@@freddiemercury1396 Josh Macrae - The Cross drummer & one of Roger's engineers on his solo albums in the 90s.
I move slowly, did not know Roger Taylor could do everything😮wow. I can relate " been a woman in fire" many times and still do. ❤🙏
