If you have other Type Revamp suggestions, be sure to let me know! I have a bit of a revamp video idea, but I'm not sure if its even possible. Namely, the idea is that with 171 possible type combinations and 143 final stage pokemon across Gens 1 and 2, it should be theorically possible to make every single pokemon line end in a unique typing. Do you believe that it would be possible to achieve this and make every single pokemon line in Gen II unique?
@@marcelocapeljunior3579 You'd need at least 324 unique Pokemon combos in the dex. That probably requires adding regional forms/cross gen evolutions into the mix to fill out that number, or just add pokemon that would feel at home in Kanto and Johto (Mawile, Cherrim, Hariyama, Zoroark, Bombirdier for example) *sorry, I think I misunderstood the question earlier. You could in theory make 143 of the possible final combos unique, but the outlier types will be a bit more difficult to fit to existing mons. Best way to find out is put them all in a spreadsheet or something and start using up the type combos
I don't know if you are taking suggestions for Gen 3, but I have a few. Volbeat and Illumise could be Bug/Electric since they are LIGHTNING bugs. Masquerain should have stayed a Water/Bug I think Skitty and Delcatty should be part Fairy type Maybe Slaking can become part fighting Milotic should be a Water/Dragon or Water/Fairy I can see Kecleon being Normal/Ghost or Normal/Dark I think Sceptile should be Grass/Dragon or some other secondary type since its the only monotype fully evolved starter Nuzleaf and Shiftry should be part Psychic instead of part Dark, so it can make a trio with Breloom and Cacturne. Nosepass could be Rock/Electric, making Probopass into an electric/steel later.
I think Primeape should be changed to fighting/steel type, the reason: it wears metal bracers and the meme about it learning iron tail despite not having tail.
I'd argue that for Parasect, Grass-Ghost would be more accurate than Bug-ghost, as the Bug is almost dead and the Mushroom is the thing in control now, having almost completely taken over
The bug's husk is still the physical form though so I think it makes more sense to calculate damage/resistance with bug type as well as using bug type moves.
But you already said that the dead thing is the bug, so if we take the typing from mushroom it has to be grass and dark cause the mushroom isn't dead, if we take the ghost type we are talking about the bug
Idk some of these seem like a stretch but I guess that's the point of the video, also one suggestion I'll add is Kingler and Krabby being Water/Bug since crustaceans are arthropods like every other bug type except for like shuckle aswell as dwebble and crustle who are also crustaceans getting bug type
Nah most of them made of them are pretty reasonable, honesty the alakazam one is one I never thought about but really like since it would explain why alakazam can bend his spoons so easily despite steel resisting psychic
Shellos and Gastrodon should actually aslo be Bug/Poi, Bug/Wat or Bug/Gro, even though they seem more like Wat/Poi type than Wat/Gro BUT... they're technically bugs (slugs, that is!).
God, just... *SOOOOOO* many of these retypings are such good ideas. It would've fixed and improved the most notable Gym Leaders and Elite Four members with questionable teams. I really don't get why they never gave Ninetales the Ghost or Psychic secondary typing - it was *PERFECT* for them due to their inspiration and the amount of moves of those types they could learn. Agatha could've literally had this big, hot (literally) fox on her team instead of just a Poison-type or Gengar duplicate.
Instead of making Alakazam psychic/steel you could give it a new signature move (or change the effect of telekinesis) thats a psychic move but its super effective against steel types
I definitely regret not putting Dark as a Fearow footnote. Maybe at the time I was avoiding crossing over into Murkrow/Honchkrow territory as physical attackers too
I personally think that Hypno is the strongest candidate for a new dark type. Hypno has a strong association with kidnappings due to pokedex entries and the one in the sevi islands and it eats dreams and generally uses dirty tactics by putting opponents to sleep and hypnotizing them instead of fighting fairly. Also dark type is more directly translated as the evil type so I think Hypno really fits the bill. Plus just look at him. Bro looks like he would hang out at parks offering free candy and funnily enough, drowzee can be found in the johto games in the grass right next to the daycare... 🤔
A few months ago I started to create a Fire Red hack rom with this same idea, but doing it with all Pokemon up to Gen 8 and having more of a competitive focus and trying to give each Pokemon a niche.
I literally admire you for never apologizing for every pun and dad joke you made. Don't feel ashamed when you make a pun. It's the world that needs to grow up and have a sense of humour.
Honestly, I could see the Staryu line being *Water/Fighting* type. They’re heavily inspired by Ultraman among other Japanese Action Heroes along with them being shown jabbing their opponent by spinning into them. This last reason’s kind of a stretch but their voice in the anime kinda sounds like a battle-ready cry: *“Hyah!”*
I like the idea of Typhlosion being Fire/Electric since it’s famous for learning thunderpunch plus it’s color scheme fits. Also I feel like Tyranitar should be changed to a Dark/Dragon since it’s based of Godzilla who is a skyscraper sized lizard, I don’t really know what it has to do with rocks anyways. Gengar would also make for a good Ghost/Dark type for its mischievous nature and color pallet in gen 2. Really like Rapidash being Fire/Fairy btw. Totally makes sense and didn’t even think of it!
The jagged mane reminds me a bit of Jolteon's as well, now that you mention it. We don't have many Fire-Electrics so the change would be a welcome one!
@@Substitube Hey by the way, I gotta ask you since I got you here. How do you get into Pokémon rom hacking? I really don’t know a good jumping off point. I don’t know coding at all but I figure if people on the internet can learn it I could too. What do you recommend?
@@Renegadetothe64th I got into it as sort of a natural progression of making fakemon. I've already come up with all these fakemon/gym leaders/region, so why not try to package it into something playable and concrete? I'm a terrible programmer myself so I'm pretty much stuck if there's no tutorial or pre-existing code to model off of. This is pretty much my Gen 2 hack go-to(github.com/pret/pokecrystal/wiki/Tutorials for github.com/pret/pokecrystal. Installation instructions: github.com/pret/pokecrystal/blob/master/INSTALL.md) It seems like Gen 3/Pokemon Essentials are better starting points since they have the most tools, templates, and documentation available for newcomers. Much less intimidating than Gen 1 and 2, with more people available to answer questions.
I agree with a lot of your choices, but some of them just don't make sense to me no matter how you try to justify it. I know you're trying to balance things but not at the expense of logic.
Magmar could be fire/dark due to its black chokers and kinda smug face and its evolution looks even more mean then there can be a new trio with electric/fighting electabuzz and ice/psychic jynx
The Gen 2 beta Pokemon work well for unused type combinations, as well. Bombshika is already Water/Fire and Ikari and Gurotesi are Water/Steel. I've also seen Rom Hacks make Kyonpan Normal/Ghost, and Rinrin and Kotora could add Normal to their pure Dark and pure Electric-types, since they feature bells in their designs and Normal is associated with sound based moves. Pinsir's scrapped evolution makes sense as Bug/Dark due to how terrifying it looks and makes it more of a counterpart to Scizor's Bug/Steel combination.
I like it when type specialist have 1 or 2 pokemon that fit their personality or type's aesthetic but isnt actually that type as a counter as an example erika could have a sudowoodo because its a tree and it also covers all of grass types weaknesses or flakner having a dodrio (with one of my retypes normal/fighting or ground/fighting) due to it being a bird and with a fighting type it would cover the flying types weaknesses of rock and ice and if its ground then it would be immune to electric
I don't really see why Hypno should get fairy, but not dark. Given their pretty messed up habits of putting people to sleep against their will, carrying off anyone having a good dream and incidents of them taking children
I overlooked Hypno for Psy/Dark since Psy/Dark Girafarig was one of my first changes (script-wise), but it fits well as you say. I agree that Psy/Fairy was a lukewarm suggestion, hence the question mark that's plastered over it.
*thumbnail premirer gang* "what? Petah, it's like the perfect should-be psychic type!" "That's what everyone always says, if it's smart, it has to be psychic type, is anything that sleeps underwater automatically makes it water type? Oh wai-"
I'm happy you didnt just do bug/fighting ledian but i personally think bug/fairy would be better due to its pokedex saying it has connections to stars, starlight for energy and that it scatters sparkly powder that is said to be goodluck also in real life lady bugs in some parts of the world are seen as goodluck and the color red is also a lucky color (also i prefer the idea of ledian being a special attacker then a psychical attack 🫣)
I think Cloyster could be a Ghost/Water type as its basically Gastly in a shell! Its literally a ghost, inhabiting/possessing a shell. Make it a ghost type COME ONNN
No offense, but making wobbuffet ghost type is really stupid when you consider he wants to use counter to return damage, and if he's ghost type both normal and fighting moves won't affect him, which really takes the point out of him. Still usable Ofc, but just stupid that 2 whole types won't affect his main gimmick, not to mention this opens up more weaknesses which defeats his gimmick even harder. For example he will be double weak to dark type, this opens up a lot of one shot potential, needless to say that's not good.
I've always been a supporter of Water/Steel Blastoise. Blasti is my fave gen 1 starter and it being water/steel would just make me love it more! Also Empoleon could easily be Water/Fighting to go along with its War General Napoleon inspirations but this is a supposed gen 2 so thats a different story lmao
The timing on this video was excellent! I actually just recently started working on a sort of reimagining of Crystal, and one of the things I set out to do was make it so no fully-evolved Pokémon shared a type combination (the starters and legendaries being exceptions). I'm also planning on reworking stats and movepools so I didn't follow quite the same parameters, but it was interesting to see which conclusions we arrived at in common and which were different, though I may go back and give another look at it to see if I'd change anything with your suggestions in mind.
@Substitube It'd definitely be something else, I think; I'm still in the very early phases of learning how to program games and such, so I'd probably be making use of the resources people have for RPGMaker and such to do a fangame.
By gen 2 we had 5 Normal-Flying families. My ideal rework would be: - Pidgey line changes to pure Flying. No Pokemon has pure Flying typing until gen 5, and even in gen 9 it's still rare. - Spearow changes to pure Flying or Dark-Flying, while Fearow is definitely Dark-Flying. - Farfetch'd changes to Fighting-Flying like suggested. - Doduo line stays Normal-Flying, with Normal representing their terrestrial nature. - Hoothoot changes to pure Flying with Noctowl being Ghost-Flying. The only issue is that Fearow steps into Murkrow's typing.
You should do this for all the regions to be honest! It’s actually nice seeing what you think what types certain Pokémon should be. I also like seeing people make up their own ideas in the comments, type changes aren’t really a thing you see much in the Pokémon community other than regional forms.
The only region I have a somewhat complete revision of is Unova (since it's so self contained). The others mix an match past and present gens a bit too much so it muddies things up a bit.
Making Suicune ice does fit somewhat well with being part of a trio with fire and electric, a trend that seems to exist throughout numerous Japanese game franchises, from Final Fantasy to even Metroid. On the flip side though, the Sui from its name is the Japanese word for water...
Celebi is DEFINITELY perfect to be Grass/Fairy. Would also buff her a lot! Onion Fairy deserves the buff. Being 4x weak to U-turn won’t do you any favors..
So many great ideas. Some over corrections though, like suicune. In gen 2, Those dogs should stay water fire and electric but suicune should learn water/ ice/ “wind” moves (gust, twister). Entie should learn fire/ ground/ rock moves (maybe stomp). And raiko should learn electric moves as well as double kick, pin missile, twister, night shade. Just a thought. I wish they were more versatile.
I personally do not like the idea of a grass/fire sunflora i think if it were to get another type it could be psychic because its typing in beta GS was actually grass/psychic and we have seen multiple times that there are a lot of sun based pokemon being psychic type like espeon, solrock and solgaleo
I haven’t kept up with the cards so that was a mistake on my part. Man, poison really can’t stick to one energy, can it? First Grass, then Psychic around Gen 5, now Dark
You went too far with the ghost-because-perish-song skit. Marowak is kind of... reasonable, Noctowl and Ninetales still make sense, but then on Lapras, corsola, Politoed? really?
I would’ve also made Stantler Ghost/Psychic. It could be explained as it being an extinct species of Pokémon connecting it even further to the future Hisuian evolution.
10 months late to this (thanks algorithim) but i have some of my own ideas -Lanturn- Electric/Ghost mostly due to the fact that Chinchou and Lanturn are based off of Anglerfish, which are very gastly looking and once again acts as a parallel to the retyped goldeen and seaking Aipom- Normal/Fighting- Has a huge fist on the back of its tail that it can use to slam down on opponents Yanma- Bug/Dragon- Dragon-fly self explinaitroy and besides would give the lil fly a much needed buff Fearow- Dark/Flying- Menacing bird that acts very aggressive correlates with the dark type extremely well, and could be one of the few non night type dark types you can get on your playthrough Arcanine- Fire/Dragon or Fire/Flying or Fire/Normal- Dragon since it was correlated with the legendary birds back in the gen 1 movies and flying because of it's mentioned to run really fast also since charizard gets the fire/flying type taken, leaves a spot opened for a non legendary to take it. Also stab extreme speed go brrr Electrode/Voltorb- Electric/Normal- I think Normal fits better than Dark due to the fact that voltorb's just a regular pokeball and electrode and voltorb are both well known for exploding, which is a normal type attack Porygon and Porygon 2- Steel/Normal- Most man made pokemon or pokemon that are heavily suggested to be man made have a part steel typing, and steel would grant Porygon 2 a lot better chance of walling opposing teams. Tangela- Grass/Fighting- Can use its whips to help whip opponents into submission and learns fighting type moves by tm like brick break and focus blast Stantler- Normal/Ghost- Distorying ones senses seems very ghost-like to me, and Stantler can learn a decent amount of ghost type attacks via level up like astonish and confuse ray, with shadow ball being learned via tm. Girafarig could remain Psychic/Normal while someone else gets Psychic/Dark, speaking of that Hypno- Psychic/Dark- This should be farily self explinatory, Everything hypno does just kinda reeks of Dark Type vibes. Politoad- Water/Normal- Good parallel to Poliwrath and besides it's a fairly ordinary frog Wobbuffet- Psychic/Ghost- Could play on how the dummy body is being prehaps possesed by the tail and give it an extreme 4x to both dark and ghost types.
Doduo and dodrio could easily have its flying type taken away due to being a flightless bird and could become normal/fighting or ground/fighting (fighting due big flightless birds are known for kicking and having powerful legs and ground due it being a grounded bird and its brown)
I always felt that Farfetch'd and later Sirfetch'd would have been better as Grass/Flying, because of the leek and Leaf Blade just works so well with it's critical gimmick... they also should receive Sharpness as their primary ability...
In many eastern myths, serpents and snakes tend to be seen as a precursor to a dragon. The idea being that they would eventually ascend to the heavens as a dragon. So you could use that explanation for Onyx, Dunsparce and Gyarados. Hell, you could even throw in Ekans into the possibility, since it is also a serpent.
@@Substitube Yeah, that makes sense, I can see why you went with psychic/fighting, but psychic/dark just fits so well, even if Girafarig and Stantler would overlap typings as a consequence. I considered retyping Stantler to normal/ice before Wyrdeer existed, but it's an awful typing. Maybe Jynx Ice/Fairy (She's possibly based on three different myths, two of which are yo-kai, like Mawile, she's also theorized to be inspired by ganguro fashion, some fairy types are related to beauty and fashion, that's the only reason I could justify Snubbull's typing, for example) and Stantler Ice/Psychic? Anyways, great video! the only other typing I was expecting was grass/rock Meganium (dinosaur shaped, learns ancient power, amazing type to help Chikorita throughout Johto specifically), but you brought some typings here that I haven't seen or even thought about before that were really cool, I've been taking notes for a Pokémon reboot/reimagine using only the first couple of gens for some time, and I'll definitely take these into account for that project!
That's pretty cool. Never new that! I just assumed it was pure Field (based purely on past experience, where I only had to breed with field mons to get useful egg moves on Ekans)
although arbok Poison/dark, gyarados water/dragon, ponyta and rapidash Fire/Fairy, wobbuffet Psychic/Ghost, stantler normal/Psychic, sunflora grass/fire and octillery water/fire would not be bad here are the fixed types of certain Pokémon: hypno Psychic/Ghost, spearow and fearow Flying/dark, pidgey, pidgeotto and pidgeot pure Flying, doduo and dodrio steel/ground (seriously ostrich don't fly), blastoise water/steel, exeggcute pure grass, exeggutor grass/ghost, voltorb and electrode Electric/Steel, lickytung Poison/Fairy, hoothoot and noctowl Flying/Psychic, grandbull Fairy/Fight, bellossom grass/Psychic, Marowak ground/fight, tyranitar ground/dark and lugia water/dragon.
allow me to throw in my opinions *ghost:* marowak, noctowl, ninetales, parasect, and wobbuffet i 100% agree with. crystal legacy opened me up to making stantler at least part ghost. keep misdreavus monotype, however. *dragon:* ampharos, meganium, lapras, and onix/steelix i agree with. i'd rather dragons feel rarer and more "legendary", so there aren't much i'd like to see. **ice:** i'd rather cloyster the way it is, thanks. i suppose goldeen and seaking can take the open ice/water slot from lapras. **fairy:** i agree with corsola, ponyta/rapidash, and bellossom. also _THANK YOU_ for giving us fairy/fighting granbulll. **dark:** victreebel, feraligatr, pinsir, and arbok i agree with. i'm not against dark type duggy if only it learns beat up. it would be funny. i actually think hypno should be psychic/dark considering its...history. **steel:** sandslash and blastoise i agree with. same with tauros if it's normal/steel. **fighting:** granbull, farfetch'd, electabuzz, magmar, and ledian i agree with. ursaring less so, because it evolves into a ground type later. **normal:** lickitung, tauros, porygon, stantler (never mind what i said before i think normal/psychic is better for it lol), fearow, farfetch'd, kangaskhan, ursaring, and furret i agree with. i can see girafarig and stantler being counterparts to one another. **water:** blastoise, kingler, feraligatr, lapras, (azu)marill, corsola, and octillery i agree with. octillery especially would be cool since it could now work in both sun _and_ rain teams. **flying:** noctowl, togetic, farfetch'd, spearow/fearow, and ledian i agree with. not much else to say here, i just wish we had more primary flying type mons like noivern of kalos. **poison:** victreebel, and lickitung i agree with. let venomoth stay since it's cool to see gym leaders pick up coverage mons. **bug:** pinsir, parasect, ledian, and pineco i agree with. again, not much to say here. **grass:** victreebel, parasect, and pineco i agree with. sunflora especially would be pretty cool to see since as a sunflower it experiences both sides of sun buffs. **psychic:** mr. mime and wobbuffet are the only ones i agree with. unown i could go either way with. oh, and stantler fits. **fire:** ninetales, rapidash, sunflora, typhlosion, and octillery i agree with. i could also see rapidash also going fire/normal. **electric:** ampharos and the porygon lines i agree with. again, not much to say here. **ground:** onix/steelix, marowak, sandshrew/sandslash, dugtrio, ursaring, kangaskhan, and typhlosion i agree with. typhlosion always felt like a ground type to me in concept. **rock:** onix is the only one i agree with here, but mono-rock larvitar and pupitar could also be cool.
I want to add some other possibilites that I thought: Weedle/Kakuna - Bug: Beedrill - Bug/Dark Beedrill's most prominent trait is to be aggressive as hell and gets a fair share of Dark type moves in its movepool. Plus it can still poison with Twin Needle Rattata/Raticate - Normal/Poison They are rats, so Poison type is quite easy to slap in the theme. Poison Fang can be added as well as Gunk Shot. Raticate gets more Poison type moves in its Alola form, but they wouldn't be hard to justify tbh Fearow - Ground/Flying A stretch option because it only really learns Drill Run, but would be interesting to differ it from the other Flying types and even if Gligar also shares this type, Fearow is still more offensive oriented than Gligar Parasect - Ghost/Grass What if Parasect it's at such a point that the effective "Bug" part is completly dead and now it's actually just a walking fungus? Rapidash - Fire/Ground This one is a bit less of a stretch than what it might seem. While not really earthy, you could slap High Horsepower and Stomping Tantrum due the equine motif. Aside from the horse part, it could serve as link to Mudbray line lorewise and would make a cool unique fast Fire/Ground Pokémon in case you don't use Typhlosion line for that Doduo/Dodrio - Fighting/Flying They get some fighting moves, but my main reason for these is because they are basically ostriches, one of those animals with the most potent kicks in the planet. The dex entries mentioning that with the multiple sets of organs it has great stamina and endurance also help Cloyster - Water/Steel I always found weird that it was Ice type, so changing it to Steel wouldn't be too weird, specially given its defensive profile. You can add Gyro Ball or even Flash Cannon to complement its lack of Steel type STABs Voltorb/Electrode - Electric/Fire Not a big deep reason, but they are explosives and it's a cool type convo that you can't justify too often Marowak - Ground/Fighting If you want, this is also an option. Think about it akin to Sirfetch'd or Timburr line that also wield tools, or even Lucario when using Bone Rush Lickitung - Normal/Dragon Stretch, but Dragon can be a rather wide term and it definitely would make it more interesting. Also, Dragon Breath causes paralysis just like Lick, so you could associate that with its saliva Electabuzz - Electric/Dark Electabuzz is literally an oni monster. While not malicious by itself, you can justify this if you want as onis are literally demon/demon-like Magmar - Fire/Fighting While it learns various Fighting type moves, this can serve with the previous one to form a Dark-Fighting-Psychic triangle with the original Elemental punch trio Omanyte/Omaster and Kabuto/Kabutops - Water/Steel and Water/Bug Rock type sets the flavor of fossil Pokémon, but it doesn't mean that you could allow these alternative types if you decide to make a short of "full reconstruction" route for the fossils, eliminating the Rock type. Both Rock and non Rock could coexist as genuine alternatives, maybe depending on where or how you revive them or if you find them in the wild Bayleef/Meganium - Grass/Ground Stretch, but can be justified. They learn various Ground type moves, the type alone makes it more interesting offensively and unique all around and can be associated with how Meganium can make dead plants regrow. Rototiller is there if you add Double Battles Quilava/Typhlosion - Fire/Fighting Don't kill me, let me explain! Unless you use the alternative for Magmar, this type is actually unique for Gen 1-2 standards. They can learn a couple of Fighting type moves and they are based partially in honey badgers which are naturally brute animals Ledyba/Ledian - Bug/Fairy Just really because the association of light and the moon of Fairy type. Clashes with the star idea but initially the Fairy type was going to come from literally the moon and Ledian looks like an alien so... Sudowoodo - Rock/Dark This Pokémon isn't malicious, but its entire idea is about lying about its type. It would make it vulnerable to Bug but as a Rock type it can threat these. It also gets a good bunch of Dark type moves, so it could be a thing Politoed - Water/Fairy Charming frog prince motif. That's it, but would be easy to slap Aipom - Normal/Fighting It has an additional hand in the tail, so maybe... Yanma - Bug/Dragon This is mostly for the laughs, but taking the dragonfly pun to the extreme would make it rather more interesting than regular Yanma Dunsparce - Ground There are various pure Ground types, but Dunsparce still owns a quite unique movepool to set a difference between the others Corsola - Rock/Fairy Neutral to Poison, but it would be a certainly unique type combo and wouldn't be too weird being weak to Water as we also have Stunfisk Delibird - Ice/Fairy It's based on Santa. We can't remove the Ice from the idea but the kindness can be shown with this type Ho-Oh - Psychic/Flying Again, one that sounds crazy, but I will explain it. Phoenix rebirth from ashes, but this would set it apart from the trio it created, being Psychic due the mystical motif about its revival powers. Would fit with type combo that changes any of the individual types of Lugia (keeping the other), would be a mostly physically oriented Psychic/Flying and Sacred Fire could be a Psychic move that can Burn or that it's Psychic but with the effectiveness of Fire type. Many fun possibilities here
Nice! Thanks for taking the time to explain all of these. I actually had Lickitung as Normal/Dragon listed at some point, but decided against it because of Lickilicky.
@@psychicknight7255 while lickitubg still has some reptilian features, lickilicky to me looks more amphibious (similar to Wooper) or even fairylike (like chewing gum slurpuff)
Victribel is cool as a Dark Mon but as a BUG TRAP it is not 4x Weak to Bug (like in Gen 1, huh). No Matter the lovely Gen 2 Art Style it could need a Imune to Bug Moves Ability and super effective against Bugs attack.
Some very interesting picks here. I agree with a few like Onix becoming rock/dragon and Steelix becoming steel/dragon but there were some that I was like “what!?” Lol.
Me: Gamefreak, I want Fighting-type for the Electabuzz line Gamefreak: We already have a Fighting-type Electabuzz line at home Fighting-type Electabuzz line at home: *Pawmot*
another reason corsola could be water / grass is both the thought (usually by kids) that coral’s a plant, but what i think is a better reason is coral is covered by microscopic algae that gives coral its color and life
Gyarados isn't a Dragon because of his tendency to destroy things, & Eastern dragons are seen as noble & helpful. I'd give it the Dark type. Bellsprout & Weepinbell keeping the Poison type kinda show how the Evil Teal type evolved from Poison to Dark.
Great video! Ever considered doing this for gen 3? It's my favorite generation and I feel like a lot of Pokemon are mistyped by the devs. Just like Gen 1 and Gen 2, Gen 3 had questionable decisions to the types distribution
Should have made typhlosion poison type instead of magmar. Typhlosion based on a honey badger are really resistant to posion so much they might as well be immune to it. I know it doesn't get any poision type moves, but it could have learned sludge bomb through tm not just toxic.
i always liked the idea of giving mons multiple type combos like for example onix could be rock ground or rock dragon but idk how thatd work in a rom hack 😭😭
@@Substitube I mean Orocorio has that already, differing forms depending on location. So maybe a more Draconic Onix living on the outside of cavernous mountains, being more territorial and causing rock slides (and being the Rock Slide itself), while regular Onix lives within the mountains and caves itself and being more chill and friendly. And maybe miner... ahem, minor differences to the design. Maybe giving Draconix the little Moustache and horns many Chinese dragons get, and nothing different other than that could help convey that this isnt a regional varient, but just sliiightly going into that direction, more like a breed.
I know alolan sandslash is ice/steel but i feel like a better ground/steel would be donphan due to it looking like it has metal plates and its paradox from is ground/steel
Areodactyl definitely should stay rock-flying because it is based on pterosaurs which are the very famous flying reptiles during the age of dinosaurs and are not dragons
I know you are trying to make all pokemon unique but i personally hate the idea of pure flying types that aren't legendary or have a unique design so instead of fearow being pure flying it could be dark/flying (due to its aggressive behavior and vulture-like appearance) or maybe even ground/flying or fighting/flying and if you do ground/flying and don't want it to overshadowed gligar, then gligar could be poison/ground or bug/ground type with levitate (if abilities were available) because just because it has wings and can fly doesn't mean it has to be a flying type just look at venomoth, flygon, beedrill and latios/latias
I think I get what you're saying with Fearow. For Gligar/Gliscor, i'd probably go with bug/ground if that's the case (otherwise if Gliscor ends ups poison type, it won't be able to take advantage of Poison Heal if Abilities come into play)
I’m ngl, some of the reasons for making the Pokémon ghost type were kind of arbitrary. I don’t think Lapras should be a ghost-type just because it’s near extinction and Politoed shouldn’t be ghost-type due to sPoOkY sCrEaMs. And the reason Exeggutor was part psychic-type is BECAUSE of that supernatural origin. Morty just picked him because his origins ARE pretty scary. Bellosom shouldn’t be ghost-type because it kind of resembles Phoebe; that’s like thinking Gothitelle should be ghost type because of similar colour scheme and bows to Shauntal, and even *that* would make more sense due to their weird connections to life and lifespans. Your right, Ariados should be dark-type. Aipom is NOT a ghost-type JUST because it has good-coverage and poor facial design.
Adding the ghost type to wobuffet is not a good idea at all. Why would you want 2 immunities on a pokemon whose entire strategy revolves around counter and mirror coat?
I predict you’ll be mad, but not too mad lololol. There’ll be multiple type suggestions per given Mon. as a side note, the Pokémon company itself has given Lugia water type in the trading cards on 3 separate occasions 🤫

I think making Wobuffet a Ghost type ruins his Gimmick a bit, what's the point that a Punching Bag can't be used as such by Fighting types?

That probably requires adding regional forms/cross gen evolutions into the mix to fill out that number, or just add pokemon that would feel at home in Kanto and Johto (Mawile, Cherrim, Hariyama, Zoroark, Bombirdier for example)
*sorry, I think I misunderstood the question earlier.
Masquerain should have stayed a Water/Bug
I think Skitty and Delcatty should be part Fairy type
Maybe Slaking can become part fighting
Milotic should be a Water/Dragon or Water/Fairy
I can see Kecleon being Normal/Ghost or Normal/Dark
I think Sceptile should be Grass/Dragon or some other secondary type since its the only monotype fully evolved starter
Nuzleaf and Shiftry should be part Psychic instead of part Dark, so it can make a trio with Breloom and Cacturne.
@@rodryaguirre4444But the mon is half mushroom (grass type), half reanimated corpse (ghost type).
Grass/Ghost would make it much more viable
@@herowither12354mushrooms are closer to insects than plants. Parasect is 1000% a bug type before it's ever a grass type.
Hopefully not too much of a stretch across the board. I tried to label the stretch ones with a ? mark towards the end of each type showcase
Nah most of them made of them are pretty reasonable, honesty the alakazam one is one I never thought about but really like since it would explain why alakazam can bend his spoons so easily despite steel resisting psychic
@@TheFallfish Armor Mewtwo was also a consideration for the same combo but I didn't want to make a custom sprite lololol
Shellos and Gastrodon should actually aslo be Bug/Poi, Bug/Wat or Bug/Gro, even though they seem more like Wat/Poi type than Wat/Gro BUT... they're technically bugs (slugs, that is!).
@@vulk7183slugs are not bugs!
Call it Mind Bend
@@TheWonkster Reworking its former signature move Kinesis to do actual damage (instead of being a Sand Attack clone) could also work
Dodrio as fighting/normal or fighting/flying makes a lot of sense imo, and dark/flying fearow seems like a no brainer
I definitely regret not putting Dark as a Fearow footnote. Maybe at the time I was avoiding crossing over into Murkrow/Honchkrow territory as physical attackers too
How about Ground/Flying for Dodrio, being a flying type that doesn't fly.
Perhaps flying/psychic for Dodrio. Idk it has 3 heads, 3 brains. It just seems fitting to me.
Fearow should be flying/dark as its japanese name translates to Demon bird or something like that
Honestly, I could see the Staryu line being *Water/Fighting* type.
They’re heavily inspired by Ultraman among other Japanese Action Heroes along with them being shown jabbing their opponent by spinning into them.
This last reason’s kind of a stretch but their voice in the anime kinda sounds like a battle-ready cry: *“Hyah!”*
I’ve always wondered why Staryu made that noise 😆
Installation instructions: github.com/pret/pokecrystal/blob/master/INSTALL.md)
It seems like Gen 3/Pokemon Essentials are better starting points since they have the most tools, templates, and documentation available for newcomers.
I mean taking children is kind of a staple of European fairy lore. Changelings and all that.
*thumbnail premirer gang*
"what? Petah, it's like the perfect should-be psychic type!"
"That's what everyone always says, if it's smart, it has to be psychic type, is anything that sleeps underwater automatically makes it water type? Oh wai-"
I think Psychic-Ty, Dark-Feral, and Fairy-Megan is a great balance trio, as is finally giving the inorganic cannons of Blastoise the steel they need.
Exactly the type of video I wanted to see! And for exactly the right region too^^ I love the changes so far already!
Ya know, if Mew was Psychic/Fairy, then Mewtwo would be Psychic/Dark.
Definitely, or Psy Steel if you decide to give it the Armored variant
@@Substitube Very True, and in this case, it can still be a Pure Psychic as normal and his Shadow Variant can have the Psychic/Dark typing.
11:15 Rock definitely makes more sense for Corsola than fairy because it’s literally coral.
I hope you'll return to this series sometime, your thought process is always really interesting and understandable
I'm also planning on reworking stats and movepools so I didn't follow quite the same parameters, but it was interesting to see which conclusions we arrived at in common and which were different, though I may go back and give another look at it to see if I'd change anything with your suggestions in mind.
be sure to keep me updated with how it goes! Are you planning on doing a Crystal hack or something else?
@Substitube It'd definitely be something else, I think; I'm still in the very early phases of learning how to program games and such, so I'd probably be making use of the resources people have for RPGMaker and such to do a fangame.
By gen 2 we had 5 Normal-Flying families. My ideal rework would be:
- Pidgey line changes to pure Flying.
My vote is for Gengar to make the jump to Ghost/Dark. It's the Shadow Pokemon and all it's Pokedex entries talk about how malicious it is.
Strong jaw dark type victreebell was something i never knew i needed
For me the normal/flyers could be changed forsure! Pidgey - normal/flying, Pidgeotto - flying/normal - Pidgeot - Flying,
Spearow - normal/flying, - Fearow - Flying, Duduo - normal, Dodrio - Normal/Flying, I completely agree with Noctowl getting Ghost/Flying.
These new typings would flesh out the type system better and overall make it more balanced, nice job.
I think Kingler could fit as a water bug, since we see later on with the likes of Crustle and Golisopod that crustaceans are candidates to be bug type
This may be a stretch but perhaps Magcargo could be an interesting Fire/Bug type.

The Dark type in card game examples tend to use post gen 8 where poison was moved to dark energy, still a good concept
I haven’t kept up with the cards so that was a mistake on my part. Man, poison really can’t stick to one energy, can it? First Grass, then Psychic around Gen 5, now Dark
You went too far with the ghost-because-perish-song skit. Marowak is kind of... reasonable, Noctowl and Ninetales still make sense, but then on Lapras, corsola, Politoed? really?
In retrospect yeah. Those were last minute additions to the script heheh.
I would’ve also made Stantler Ghost/Psychic. It could be explained as it being an extinct species of Pokémon connecting it even further to the future Hisuian evolution.
I think a split evo for hoothoot would be awesome. One ghost, and noctowl could be dark
Shocked Granbull isn’t fairy fighting considering it has a cute asthetic (fairy) and the fightingish nature of bulldogs
Magcargo might be served better as a pure fire or fire/bug type that knows plenty of rock moves
10 months late to this (thanks algorithim) but i have some of my own ideas
-Lanturn- Electric/Ghost mostly due to the fact that Chinchou and Lanturn are based off of Anglerfish, which are very gastly looking and once again acts as a parallel to the retyped goldeen and seaking
Aipom- Normal/Fighting- Has a huge fist on the back of its tail that it can use to slam down on opponents
Yanma- Bug/Dragon- Dragon-fly self explinaitroy and besides would give the lil fly a much needed buff
Fearow- Dark/Flying- Menacing bird that acts very aggressive correlates with the dark type extremely well, and could be one of the few non night type dark types you can get on your playthrough
Arcanine- Fire/Dragon or Fire/Flying or Fire/Normal- Dragon since it was correlated with the legendary birds back in the gen 1 movies and flying because of it's mentioned to run really fast also since charizard gets the fire/flying type taken, leaves a spot opened for a non legendary to take it. Also stab extreme speed go brrr
Electrode/Voltorb- Electric/Normal- I think Normal fits better than Dark due to the fact that voltorb's just a regular pokeball and electrode and voltorb are both well known for exploding, which is a normal type attack
Porygon and Porygon 2- Steel/Normal- Most man made pokemon or pokemon that are heavily suggested to be man made have a part steel typing, and steel would grant Porygon 2 a lot better chance of walling opposing teams.
Tangela- Grass/Fighting- Can use its whips to help whip opponents into submission and learns fighting type moves by tm like brick break and focus blast
Stantler- Normal/Ghost- Distorying ones senses seems very ghost-like to me, and Stantler can learn a decent amount of ghost type attacks via level up like astonish and confuse ray, with shadow ball being learned via tm. Girafarig could remain Psychic/Normal while someone else gets Psychic/Dark, speaking of that
Hypno- Psychic/Dark- This should be farily self explinatory, Everything hypno does just kinda reeks of Dark Type vibes.
Politoad- Water/Normal- Good parallel to Poliwrath and besides it's a fairly ordinary frog
Wobbuffet- Psychic/Ghost- Could play on how the dummy body is being prehaps possesed by the tail and give it an extreme 4x to both dark and ghost types.
I need a video like this for gen 4, since I'm romhacking pokemon battle revolution. Very inspiring ideas for gen 2 nonetheless
We all know Gyarados's design is based off of eastern dragons while Charzard is based off of western dragons.
Charizard and Ampharos' Dragon-typing are references to their mega evolution
I'd make feraligator a water dragon while meganium would be a grass fairy.
Hypno, i'd make a psychic dark.
The Legendary Beasts can also have secondary ghost types since they are reborn from Pokemon that died in the burned towert
Lugia needs to water/flying. Pychic makes no sense for it because the programers only made it that way to make it feel more powerful.
I think Psychic/Dark Hypno should have been mentioned, I've seen it in a couple places and it's probably the most fitting retype lore wise.
Hmm, yeah, I should've mentioned it. I think at the time it was because I already marked Girafarig down for that type
@@CableSpark872 great suggestions! Ice for Stantler could fit well, especially since it was featured in a Santa Claus Winter Vacation episode
Arbok is in the Dragon egg group, a 'wyrm' and a pure poison (which is redundant).
That's pretty cool. Never new that! I just assumed it was pure Field (based purely on past experience, where I only had to breed with field mons to get useful egg moves on Ekans)
I have heard arguments that Arbok could be a Dragon type. That's an interesting what-if. Poison/Dragon
Lickitung could be Normal/Water as it resembles a Salamander & Salamanders live near swamps.
although arbok Poison/dark, gyarados water/dragon, ponyta and rapidash Fire/Fairy, wobbuffet Psychic/Ghost, stantler normal/Psychic, sunflora grass/fire and octillery water/fire would not be bad here are the fixed types of certain Pokémon: hypno Psychic/Ghost, spearow and fearow Flying/dark, pidgey, pidgeotto and pidgeot pure Flying, doduo and dodrio steel/ground (seriously ostrich don't fly), blastoise water/steel, exeggcute pure grass, exeggutor grass/ghost, voltorb and electrode Electric/Steel, lickytung Poison/Fairy, hoothoot and noctowl Flying/Psychic, grandbull Fairy/Fight, bellossom grass/Psychic, Marowak ground/fight, tyranitar ground/dark and lugia water/dragon.
allow me to throw in my opinions
*ghost:*
marowak, noctowl, ninetales, parasect, and wobbuffet i 100% agree with. crystal legacy opened me up to making stantler at least part ghost. keep misdreavus monotype, however.
*dragon:*
ampharos, meganium, lapras, and onix/steelix i agree with. i'd rather dragons feel rarer and more "legendary", so there aren't much i'd like to see.
**ice:**
i'd rather cloyster the way it is, thanks. i suppose goldeen and seaking can take the open ice/water slot from lapras.
**fairy:**
i agree with corsola, ponyta/rapidash, and bellossom. also _THANK YOU_ for giving us fairy/fighting granbulll.
**dark:**
victreebel, feraligatr, pinsir, and arbok i agree with. i'm not against dark type duggy if only it learns beat up. it would be funny. i actually think hypno should be psychic/dark considering its...history.
**steel:**
sandslash and blastoise i agree with. same with tauros if it's normal/steel.
**fighting:**
granbull, farfetch'd, electabuzz, magmar, and ledian i agree with. ursaring less so, because it evolves into a ground type later.
**normal:**
lickitung, tauros, porygon, stantler (never mind what i said before i think normal/psychic is better for it lol), fearow, farfetch'd, kangaskhan, ursaring, and furret i agree with. i can see girafarig and stantler being counterparts to one another.
**water:**
blastoise, kingler, feraligatr, lapras, (azu)marill, corsola, and octillery i agree with. octillery especially would be cool since it could now work in both sun _and_ rain teams.
**flying:**
noctowl, togetic, farfetch'd, spearow/fearow, and ledian i agree with. not much else to say here, i just wish we had more primary flying type mons like noivern of kalos.
**poison:**
victreebel, and lickitung i agree with. let venomoth stay since it's cool to see gym leaders pick up coverage mons.
**bug:**
pinsir, parasect, ledian, and pineco i agree with. again, not much to say here.
**grass:**
victreebel, parasect, and pineco i agree with. sunflora especially would be pretty cool to see since as a sunflower it experiences both sides of sun buffs.
**psychic:**
mr. mime and wobbuffet are the only ones i agree with. unown i could go either way with. oh, and stantler fits.
**fire:**
ninetales, rapidash, sunflora, typhlosion, and octillery i agree with. i could also see rapidash also going fire/normal.
**electric:**
ampharos and the porygon lines i agree with. again, not much to say here.
**ground:**
onix/steelix, marowak, sandshrew/sandslash, dugtrio, ursaring, kangaskhan, and typhlosion i agree with. typhlosion always felt like a ground type to me in concept.
**rock:**
onix is the only one i agree with here, but mono-rock larvitar and pupitar could also be cool.
I want to add some other possibilites that I thought:
Weedle/Kakuna - Bug: Beedrill - Bug/Dark
Beedrill's most prominent trait is to be aggressive as hell and gets a fair share of Dark type moves in its movepool. Plus it can still poison with Twin Needle
Rattata/Raticate - Normal/Poison
They are rats, so Poison type is quite easy to slap in the theme. Poison Fang can be added as well as Gunk Shot. Raticate gets more Poison type moves in its Alola form, but they wouldn't be hard to justify tbh
Fearow - Ground/Flying
A stretch option because it only really learns Drill Run, but would be interesting to differ it from the other Flying types and even if Gligar also shares this type, Fearow is still more offensive oriented than Gligar
Parasect - Ghost/Grass
What if Parasect it's at such a point that the effective "Bug" part is completly dead and now it's actually just a walking fungus?
Rapidash - Fire/Ground
This one is a bit less of a stretch than what it might seem. While not really earthy, you could slap High Horsepower and Stomping Tantrum due the equine motif. Aside from the horse part, it could serve as link to Mudbray line lorewise and would make a cool unique fast Fire/Ground Pokémon in case you don't use Typhlosion line for that
Doduo/Dodrio - Fighting/Flying
They get some fighting moves, but my main reason for these is because they are basically ostriches, one of those animals with the most potent kicks in the planet. The dex entries mentioning that with the multiple sets of organs it has great stamina and endurance also help
Cloyster - Water/Steel
I always found weird that it was Ice type, so changing it to Steel wouldn't be too weird, specially given its defensive profile. You can add Gyro Ball or even Flash Cannon to complement its lack of Steel type STABs
Voltorb/Electrode - Electric/Fire
Not a big deep reason, but they are explosives and it's a cool type convo that you can't justify too often
Marowak - Ground/Fighting
If you want, this is also an option. Think about it akin to Sirfetch'd or Timburr line that also wield tools, or even Lucario when using Bone Rush
Lickitung - Normal/Dragon
Stretch, but Dragon can be a rather wide term and it definitely would make it more interesting. Also, Dragon Breath causes paralysis just like Lick, so you could associate that with its saliva
Electabuzz - Electric/Dark
Electabuzz is literally an oni monster. While not malicious by itself, you can justify this if you want as onis are literally demon/demon-like
Magmar - Fire/Fighting
While it learns various Fighting type moves, this can serve with the previous one to form a Dark-Fighting-Psychic triangle with the original Elemental punch trio
Omanyte/Omaster and Kabuto/Kabutops - Water/Steel and Water/Bug
Rock type sets the flavor of fossil Pokémon, but it doesn't mean that you could allow these alternative types if you decide to make a short of "full reconstruction" route for the fossils, eliminating the Rock type. Both Rock and non Rock could coexist as genuine alternatives, maybe depending on where or how you revive them or if you find them in the wild
Bayleef/Meganium - Grass/Ground
Stretch, but can be justified. They learn various Ground type moves, the type alone makes it more interesting offensively and unique all around and can be associated with how Meganium can make dead plants regrow. Rototiller is there if you add Double Battles
Quilava/Typhlosion - Fire/Fighting
Don't kill me, let me explain! Unless you use the alternative for Magmar, this type is actually unique for Gen 1-2 standards. They can learn a couple of Fighting type moves and they are based partially in honey badgers which are naturally brute animals
Ledyba/Ledian - Bug/Fairy
Just really because the association of light and the moon of Fairy type. Clashes with the star idea but initially the Fairy type was going to come from literally the moon and Ledian looks like an alien so...
Sudowoodo - Rock/Dark
This Pokémon isn't malicious, but its entire idea is about lying about its type. It would make it vulnerable to Bug but as a Rock type it can threat these. It also gets a good bunch of Dark type moves, so it could be a thing
Politoed - Water/Fairy
Charming frog prince motif. That's it, but would be easy to slap
Aipom - Normal/Fighting
It has an additional hand in the tail, so maybe...
Yanma - Bug/Dragon
This is mostly for the laughs, but taking the dragonfly pun to the extreme would make it rather more interesting than regular Yanma
Dunsparce - Ground
There are various pure Ground types, but Dunsparce still owns a quite unique movepool to set a difference between the others
Corsola - Rock/Fairy
Neutral to Poison, but it would be a certainly unique type combo and wouldn't be too weird being weak to Water as we also have Stunfisk
Delibird - Ice/Fairy
It's based on Santa. We can't remove the Ice from the idea but the kindness can be shown with this type
Ho-Oh - Psychic/Flying
Again, one that sounds crazy, but I will explain it.
@@Substitube You're welcome! May I ask why wouldn't you make it Dragon type because of Lickilicky? Now I'm curious!
@@psychicknight7255 while lickitubg still has some reptilian features, lickilicky to me looks more amphibious (similar to Wooper) or even fairylike (like chewing gum slurpuff)
Who let this guy cook 😂
But having said that having fun with it has no harm, its a bit too far out there for me though for some of these
For the record, never let me cook
Victribel is cool as a Dark Mon but as a BUG TRAP it is not 4x Weak to Bug (like in Gen 1, huh). No Matter the lovely Gen 2 Art Style it could need a Imune to Bug Moves Ability and super effective against Bugs attack.
Some very interesting picks here.
I agree with a few like Onix becoming rock/dragon and Steelix becoming steel/dragon but there were some that I was like “what!?” Lol.
I'm sure there were quite a few of those. I'll try to tone it down a bit for Gen III's
Awesome vid please remake crystal with these changes. I’ll play 100%
Me: Gamefreak, I want Fighting-type for the Electabuzz line
Gamefreak: We already have a Fighting-type Electabuzz line at home
Fighting-type Electabuzz line at home: *Pawmot*
another reason corsola could be water / grass is both the thought (usually by kids) that coral’s a plant, but what i think is a better reason is coral is covered by microscopic algae that gives coral its color and life
Coral is rock that grows biologically. Don’t overthink it.
@@tjtribble. i was just trying to engage with the video :V
@@matticelery52 Yeah that’s fine, I’m not making fun of you or anything
Gyarados should be water/dark type due to how many dex entries it has on how angry it is. Also it's mega is water/dark type.
I’ll consider it 😁 I’ll try to be less stretchy next time tho lolol
Lileep is an animal, not a plant. The grass-typing is a pun on how crinoids are also called 'sea lilies'.
I kept Unown as Psychic but I changed it's ability to Protean.
That’s a great idea if you’re modding Unown outside of gen 2 (or even in gen 2 with a bit of extra work)
Should have made typhlosion poison type instead of magmar. Typhlosion based on a honey badger are really resistant to posion so much they might as well be immune to it.
I know it doesn't get any poision type moves, but it could have learned sludge bomb through tm not just toxic.
Ground resists poison too though 🤷♂️
i always liked the idea of giving mons multiple type combos like for example onix could be rock ground or rock dragon but idk how thatd work in a rom hack 😭😭
like alternate types in the same game? I guess regional/special formes are a workaround. Johtoan Onix or Crystal Onix 🤷♂
Definitely gonna be taking inspiration from this in the future. :] thank you!!
I know alolan sandslash is ice/steel but i feel like a better ground/steel would be donphan due to it looking like it has metal plates and its paradox from is ground/steel
that makes perfect sense! Plus Donphan would then get better Steel moves with the addition of Heavy Slam/Iron Head
Gosh I'd love a bug/ghost evolution for Parasect and grass/fire for Sunflora.
PLEASE GAMEFREAK 🙏🏼
14:00 For me personally, i'll get rid of the bug type, since spiders aren't bugs and whatnot, i would give it Dark and poison type
irl spiders aren't insects, but they're all grouped together in Pokemon anyway so that change would apply to Spidops, Galvantula, Ariados, Araquanid
Goldeen still feels too fishy to not be water. Fairy and ice can work with it though
1:41 Noctowl needs to be Psychic/Flying
7:06 Meganium should be a Fairy-type
15:37 Fearow needs the Dark-type
🔥🔥🔥
Making Wabafet a Ghost makes a number of moves unable to hit it which is terrible because it has to be hit to ever do any damage.
"I can't believe its not dragon" 💀
Make Granbull Fighting Fairy. Just look at it!
no hate but i think you changed too many pokemon, i think it should be 5-7 changed pokemon per type max
I did state at the start that these are options that you can pick and choose as you like.
yea ik its jus my opinion that some mainly at the beginning are a little extra
or kinda reaches@@Substitube
bug fighting ledian was always a stupid idea it has more stuff about space then punching psychic/bug for life dude
hey, I have an idea for a video! maybe a fan made pokedex entry of an existing Pokémon.
Adding the ghost type to wobuffet is not a good idea at all. Why would you want 2 immunities on a pokemon whose entire strategy revolves around counter and mirror coat?
A solid argument against it. You could even say it's a...COUNTERpoint!
I think Ice should resist just water and flying types
If I see Lugia being turned into a water type, I'm gonna mad. Not every aquatic Pokemon needs to be a water type.
Edit: GODDAMNIT
I predict you’ll be mad, but not too mad lololol. There’ll be multiple type suggestions per given Mon. as a side note, the Pokémon company itself has given Lugia water type in the trading cards on 3 separate occasions 🤫
@@Substitube true. They did make water type Lugia cards.
AAAWESOME
How you didn’t add porygon to steel was beyond me. Steel electric
Mostly because Magnemite’s line
The electabuzz line could be electric/dark instead, allowing it to be in 2 type triangles with the jynx and magmar lines once more
I could see it. We'd just need to inject more Dark moves into its learnset aside from the lowly Thief and Fling 😁
deranged ghost type takes. the rest are cool
If you do gen 3 please make banette a ghost normal
Pls make a video retyping the next two generations
I would if this video didn't absolutely get dunked on lololol. If I had to, it'll probably only be for Gen 3
@@Substitube I would love to see a series, maybe just less ghost types i think.
keeping the ice type for lapras doesn't make a lot of sense tbh
