1. Is Huawei Mate 10 waterproof or water resistant?
Huawei Mate 10 is officially announced not waterproof while the Mate 10 Pro and the Porsche Design variants are water and dust resistant with an IP67 rating. My video is to let you know wether Huawei Mate 10 is actually waterproof.
2. What did I do in the tests?
I put Huawei Mate 10 in the water for 5 mins, and heat up the phone to 100 ℃ for 5 mins. I found that the Huawei Mate 10 can stand high weather temperature. Although the CPU temperature will go up to 57℃ after heating up, it will cool down quickly.
The battery cover of Huawei Mate 10 can not cool down quickly, so the device will not face heating issue after long term using.
In water test part, I found Huawei Mate 10 is water resistant. Huawei Mate 10 is officially announced basic splashproof level. However, my huawei mate 10 stayed in water for 5 minutes and got no water damage.
Notice: don’t try heating up your Huawei Mate 10 and don’t put your Huawei mate 10 in water.

Had my Honor V10 (not Mate 10) dropped in water twice, it damaged the internals, sadly. But it's still working somehow, after changing the charge controller. Looks like the temperature sensor or something has been damaged inside and it is rebooting on its own sometimes. But I really love it and I searched for some time for a phone like that, nothing has matched my choice except Mate 10 model. It is almost similar to my V10. Yep, I'm ordering an 2017 phone in 2023 because it's too great. LED-indicator, Infrared sensor, the fingerprint scanner is on front side and no God damn notches on the screen and 2K resolution... This phone is just perfect for me.

Ok, so the regular mate 10 variant must have the same IP rating with the pro version yet manufacturers decided to make it appear that it doesn't. This makes the pro version seemingly 'way ahead' compared to the regular one so that many people will still buy it. Like, come on, the regular version has a lot to offer and is way cheaper. Just my opinion.
Yea ur ryt, the expandable memory and headphone jack too are very important features which they missed out on the pro. So the mate 10 so is a very practical buy compared to the pro version.
Sam Drilon has a headphone jack and 1440p screen and pro is less of a pro than the regular 😂
Mate 10 is better than Mate 10 Pro in many aspects.
Thanks for the vid, because of you I can save $300 and still get a headphone jack haha. Originally intended to get the Pro model, but seeing how the normal variant can survive those water tests made me reconsider

Secondly, I'm undecided between LG G6 and Mate 10 Pro. Im always outdoor and IP68 is superb on Lg BUT now Im seeing that Mate 10 has the same specs. Is it possible that they nerfed mate 10 Pro with IP67 and this video cannot be applied to it?
I have huawei mate 10 pro and i just love it, have had a lot of phone from huawei and they have never disappointed me, have used some samsung phones earlier but they have disappointed big in quality something not huawei has :)

I think tests about time underwater would be more interesting if there was a way to do pressure tests like if you went diving with the phone because the Deeper you dive the more intense the pressure gets

Hi. Can you do water test of regular Huawei P20?
Mate 10 is IP63, but mate10 pro is IP67. It seems mate 10 is much better than IP63 based on this test. I think it would be the audio jack in mate 10 which can compromise the water resistance if submerged too long under water.

Yes. Rubber protects it from water.
Because mate 10 has audio jack. That one reduces the overall IP number down to 63, which is not an issue on mate 10 pro.
Because those rubber seals aren't as good as the ones with ip67,so any submerge in water might damage the phone since those seals are meant to handle splashes,not submergence,so don't trust your mate 10 near water as the ip53 is only there to protect against small splashes like rain or accidental splashes from faucets or showers

My mate ten worked fine after putting it in water but the speakers weren't really working, but once it dried off the speakers were fine

I just bought mate 10 , and I wonder if I can take videos or pics under water at least for 2 mins , I am not thinking to stay for 30 mins , what do you think ? Can mate 10 survive for at least 75 cm under water ? Btw after I get my phone out of water how long Am I supposed to wait until I can charge my phone ? Or how can I increase the rate of dryness ?
Just avoid the water when it is hot and you shouldn't have to worry about...
I put my one in water to cool down after a benchmark, not submerged just under water flow... and 30minuts later it die... 😑
I send it to clean at an autorised huawei service but LCD is dead.. It works with HDMI cable and touch is nice also, but some times it became really slow... the mouse point move like if you emulate windows 10 in a 20 year old computer over virtual machine!!

My phone mate 10 touch some water speaker problem already. Sound slow and go to servis. I think need to chance new speaker.
if it felt on water for few seconds not deep water just around 0.5M it would probably survive but would it damage?
My speakers distort when on high volume usually doesn't help?

No problem for head phone jack. The only thing we need to worry is the SIM card tray. Because after long time of using, the rubber on the tray could worn out.
