it's true, some phones may die under water even if sealed because they are made by people and what do people make? awsner is mistakes we humans makes mistakes not all water proof phones are 100% sealed, i have owned many phones in my life and i'm only 18 years old most still work with either broken screen of missing charger haha. i have owned more than these, these are just some lg optimus or somthing around that sony xperia z3 compact took it too bath and puddles and filmed in rain really good reliable phone! doogee mix 1very good cheap chinease branded phone. doogee s30 very good work phone ip 68 rated filmed with it in salt water still works perfectly fine! but dont buy it but the never ones like s60 or up since s30 is waaaayy to slow, reason why i dont use it another random lg a flip nokia me first phone more or less indestructable! My new huawei mate 10 pro had it a few months no problems works fine use it in rain sometimes but i don't take risks putting it in water since it's not the cheapest phone to get ;D remember they are ip rated not to be using for anything under water but only for the saftey if you drop it in water!
My huawei mate 10 pro stops taking video when it goes underwater. Seems like the water triggers the screen to stop recording. Do you know how to overcome that?
I have a brand new mate 10 pro and I took a few pictures with it in less that 30 cm underwater and for less than 5 minutes. The phone works as good as before, but the speaker is kinda full of water so I'm leaving it for a while. Is it normal and will it work again? Just as good as before.... Sorry if the question is stupid hahaha

My Mate 10 Pro has never gotten warmer than like 30 degrees (my own skin temp) even during hours of gaming. So much better cooling in that phone than my old S7 edge that got up to 50 degrees just normal use
Salt can and will corrode the connections, so you should always rinse your phone when exposed to seawater. Chemicals used in swimming pools can also do harm.

I did an underwater video with the HTC U11+ and the bottom half of the touchscreen doesn't work properly anymore, also my SIMs were broken. You should try that phone too! Now I 've bought this Mate 10 Pro to be sure it will function as new after a dip into the river :P
Mine came faulty.. 🤦🏻♂️. Bad luck, turn off itself ramdomnly... Any ideas. (no international waranty). Already replace with a New battery but nothing improves.

And this was the last month of my warranty.. So basically if this happened again am screwed.. A mobile repairs shop told me all this waterproof thing is bullshit thats why conpanies do not provide warranty for water damage eventho they're claiming its waterproof.. In brief, keep your mobile off water and dont believe their claims..
I let this on rice from the time I comment here till 2h. later, powered on Mate 10 Pro, but it seems to work "normal" just the screen don't light on. If I push hard the power button and the screen on top, it flashes sometimes and I can see the hour and battery percentage, so maybe the display aren't dead, I'll let it on rice till night and will open to dry it. Wish me luck!!!

Was it salt water at the beach? If so, IP ratings don't cover every kind of liquid for immersion. Only fresh water mostly.

After years (6) of hard use, still waterproof and battery last very well 👌 . I take it to Sauna and icefishing, no worries 😁
