One of my cats will jump on the bed in the morning and I wake up to him looking into my face. Once I give him eye contact and a slow blink he'll start nuzzling me and purring loudly. I love that sweet boy .
Isn’t that such a wonderful and warm feeling. My cat Midnight I truly believe wills me to wake up just by staring. I’ll be asleep, suddenly my eyes open and there he is looking at me. Puts a smile on my face even if it’s 4:30 am instead of 5:00 am. Lol
same here. every morning i wake up go my kitty shoving her face in my mouth. sometimes ill be unresponsive to see what she does, she just stands on my chest or arm with her face in my mouth until i do something. as soon as i wake up i pet her a bit and she purrs like a tractor and walks around and lays on my face LOL

I never knew that cats are so amazing until I shared a home with my adult daughter who had a cat!! He and I bonded and now I’m obsessed with cats!! Unfortunately he passed away last week 😢 But I’ve been able to foster, rescue and help many cats after having him in my life!! RIP Lotus aka Booty! Granny will always love you the most of all! ❤️😭😿
sorry for your loss mommas!💓 I never liked cats then my cousin got one and he grew on me Ziggy is the biggest baby in the house. there was a time when just stayed around me(annoying) he knew when I was hurting and when I was sad. Ziggy is my exception to cats. He talks to me before I leave for work and I know when he misses me. Even if there is a house full of big kids and two other adults 😊I would be sad if he passed.

It's devastating losing a much loved pet & I'm very sorry for your loss. My beloved cat died in his sleep just over a year ago. He was eighteen & I still cry, but you do learn to live with the pain. I hope it gets easier for you soon.

Cats also have a smell sensor in their mouth called Jacobsen's organ! Sounds like your kitty uses it often. I've worked with blind cats and they get around really well!

All of my cats are feral (despite a brief phase when I attempted to domesticate them). It may sound ridiculous to others (but I know you'll understand) that I am convinced that they ❤️ it when I put on my "baby talk" voice. It's the voice they love best and I speak like that to them several times a day.
It's because the slow blink doesn't mean "I love you" but "I don't want to hurt you". I've observed this many times with cats interacting among themselves. "I love you" is a slight head bump. While they trust you if they let you touch their nose or rub their belly (if they don't allow you this last one doesn't mean they don't trust you, they might just be not used to having contact with people)
I get the look of pure love from my Storm! She only has eyes for her mama! My favorite is the leg rubs when I get home. She's so fluffy and soft and she knows it!

My cat had terrible dental problem which left him with only 4 teeth, only 1 of which is a fang. He needed antibiotics after the extraction of his other teeth. I did not want to stick a syringe into his sore mouth so I found these purée treats…. Well after getting a treat mixed with antibiotics twice a day for a little over a week, he learned that when I wake up it’s time for a treat and when I get home from work it’s time for a treat. If I try to sleep in, he lets me know about it.
Oh I love All fur babies~ I've been a kitty person my entire life. As of now, I have a 7yr old Kali & baby Hella. Hella is still new to indoor life, I care for a Colony of Ferals, even bought an igloo , padded it up & put blankets inside & We made a porch for them. Noone likes to have bad weather blowing through their doors. I've been able to earn trust & they love LOVE. they finally understand when you feed & give fresh water daily, & once you've earned their trust to let you touch them, ( never grab a feline that doesn't come to you & ask for your love. ) Eye contact is Huge. My outdoor ferals & Both my girls ; mostly Hella now because she's only 7 months old now, She was 1 of our felines/Colony kitties) she does the stare, blinks & marks my feet with her whiskers while I'm getting her food ready. I speak to them as I would anyone else ( I give them much respect) ❤❤❤ if you really want love, Unconditional love, get a kitten or grown kitty who really needs a good home. Just to clarify a bit, cats slow blinking isn't really a sign of affection more so as it's a sign of their comfort, relaxation, and them feeling safe around you. It's a great technique to use on scared or highly stressed cats (looming vet visit for example) to let them know that things are alright, and to show them that you're not stressed yourself. Great cinematography on this video, too!
My guess it's a sign of submission (to the extent that cats are capable of it). It's not merely a symptom of comfort because they can switch rapidly between predatory gaze and submissive gaze without any change in comfort.
You are correct, however in most circumstances it can be surmised that if a cat is feeling relaxed and comfortable constantly around you, it probably ‘loves’ you. And showing signs of that comfort and relaxation are the ways it shows that love. People often forget that cats aren’t human and aren’t capable of truly feeling complex emotions like love, but if you make a cat feel comfortable and relaxed around you, it’s essentially their only form of ‘love’ that they can show you, it’s a sign that they trust you.
For so long I thought the slow blinking was a sign of happiness and comfort, But my whole logic was thrown off when I was trying to put a new flea collar on my cat after she had one previously for months, She did not want to have another collar on no matter what. She backed herself into a corner and when I tried to coax her out with a treat she did the most exaggerated slow blinking and slightly lifting her head. She manipulated me not to give her another collar and it worked. She still has no collar on.
They are like dogs. If you jingle the house keys or are suddenly getting dressed with jacket and shoes, they want to go out with you or are missing you already. 😂They are so cute. ❤😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹

My oldest son still has one of the originals - she's 'around' 14🙏! Her name is Fluff....solid black with a little Persian - long , soft,thick fur. I love my Chloe, she's silky black with bright yellow eyes. She is so newsy and has to investigate every sound when I move things. She is funny and sweet, always amusing us. I sing to her sweetly and she seems to like it. My Vet calls her a true lady. ❤🐾🐾

Cats senses are unreal, changes in the environment or atmosphere many times my cat told me by reactions then me actually finding out on my own. Many people who have nde (near death experiences) say they come out of their body as a spirit & when they are around their animals especially cats, they always look right at them floating or whatever. They can sense almost anything!

My cat stares at me constantly. It’s even funnier because the face he makes looks like there’s no thoughts. Sometimes he has his tongue sticking out a little.
My cat had terrible dental problem which left him with only 4 teeth, only 1 of which is a fang.
He needed antibiotics after the extraction of his other teeth.
I did not want to stick a syringe into his sore mouth so I found these purée treats…. Well after getting a treat mixed with antibiotics twice a day for a little over a week, he learned that when I wake up it’s time for a treat and when I get home from work it’s time for a treat.
If I try to sleep in, he lets me know about it.

Oh I love All fur babies~ I've been a kitty person my entire life. As of now, I have a 7yr old Kali & baby Hella. Hella is still new to indoor life, I care for a Colony of Ferals, even bought an igloo , padded it up & put blankets inside & We made a porch for them. Noone likes to have bad weather blowing through their doors. I've been able to earn trust & they love LOVE. they finally understand when you feed & give fresh water daily,
& once you've earned their trust to let you touch them, ( never grab a feline that doesn't come to you & ask for your love. )
Eye contact is Huge. My outdoor ferals & Both my girls ; mostly Hella now because she's only 7 months old now, She was 1 of our felines/Colony kitties) she does the stare, blinks & marks my feet with her whiskers while I'm getting her food ready.
I speak to them as I would anyone else ( I give them much respect)

Just to clarify a bit, cats slow blinking isn't really a sign of affection more so as it's a sign of their comfort, relaxation, and them feeling safe around you. It's a great technique to use on scared or highly stressed cats (looming vet visit for example) to let them know that things are alright, and to show them that you're not stressed yourself. Great cinematography on this video, too!
My guess it's a sign of submission (to the extent that cats are capable of it). It's not merely a symptom of comfort because they can switch rapidly between predatory gaze and submissive gaze without any change in comfort.
You are correct, however in most circumstances it can be surmised that if a cat is feeling relaxed and comfortable constantly around you, it probably ‘loves’ you. And showing signs of that comfort and relaxation are the ways it shows that love. People often forget that cats aren’t human and aren’t capable of truly feeling complex emotions like love, but if you make a cat feel comfortable and relaxed around you, it’s essentially their only form of ‘love’ that they can show you, it’s a sign that they trust you.

For so long I thought the slow blinking was a sign of happiness and comfort, But my whole logic was thrown off when I was trying to put a new flea collar on my cat after she had one previously for months, She did not want to have another collar on no matter what. She backed herself into a corner and when I tried to coax her out with a treat she did the most exaggerated slow blinking and slightly lifting her head. She manipulated me not to give her another collar and it worked. She still has no collar on.
My kitties talk to me all the time, one purrs every time I touch hershe is so loveable. They all rescues

Cats senses are unreal, changes in the environment or atmosphere many times my cat told me by reactions then me actually finding out on my own. Many people who have nde (near death experiences) say they come out of their body as a spirit & when they are around their animals especially cats, they always look right at them floating or whatever. They can sense almost anything!
