Brahms wrote to Clara Schumann in June 1877: "On one stave, for a small instrument, the man writes a whole world of the deepest thoughts and most powerful feelings. If I imagined that I could have created, even conceived the piece, I am quite certain that the excess of excitement and earth-shattering experience would have driven me out of my mind."
Fantastic interpretation of this partita, especially the chaconne, which is monumental! I worked on this piece for months and I always felt it was more beautiful with a lute than with a solo violin (for which it was originally written): the chords with 4 notes constantly oblige the violinist to break, which can be tiring all along the 25 minutes, while the lute can choose to "tie" or "untie" the chord, according to the "beat" in the bar, and effect expected. The lute allows a wide variety of colors, which is required here when we alternate passages of infinite sadness/distress, with moments of great tenderness (2nd part in D major), then again deep desolation (3rd part). But again, bravo to Edin, incredible player ! I transcript the chaconne for G tuned archlute, but I realize here that the baroque tuned Lute is far better.

La pintura es una gran obra de Orazio Gentileschi, padre y maestro de la gran pintora Artemisia Gentileschi.......admirable mujer k logro luchar e imponer su derecho y capacidad de ser pintora en un mundo dominado x machos intolerantes.
Without being a great specialist of the lute, it seems to us that this instrument is not part of the transposing instruments (which must be transposed to the writing of the score). The overall atmosphere of the work is well in the key of D minor :)
Using a virtual keyboard to check the last note of the piece in this recording, it appears to be D#. Here is the same artist playing the Chaconne on guitar transposed to E minor. ruclips.net/video/CkskQMKBRjU/видео.html
This otherwise wonderful recording is absolutely ruined by the unmistakable, dreadful squeek of Aquila nylgut. I have no idea why those strings even exist.

Hello, I can't find this album anywhere, where did you get it? Thanks for sharing
Is it transposed to E minor?
