This is the mall that I used to go to when I grew up, I lived in Manteno growing up. Last time I had been to this mall was a couple years ago and it was pretty quiet at that time.
Yeah, the last time I was at this mall before I recorded this was in 1996. It seems from other videos of this I watched of this mall, it went down only in the last few months. It appears that mall management doesn't care.
I encourage you to check out the Illinois star center mall on my channel. Very similar to this mall. In fact it is a twin. If this don't turn around it will look like this mall in Marion.
4:58 Back when I was working at that mall, it was kind of like a tea/ coffee and pastry shop for a while. It didn't last very long, though. I used to work down at Barrels N' Bins. Spent many a paycheck on the candy. lol! It was a really fun place to work, too. Sadly, there were very few lights that worked down on that end, so all the rowdy teenagers would congregate there. Had to call security a few times because of it.

No problem! Yeah, my husband and I were in the area not too long ago, and we decided to check it out for old time's sake. It really made me sad to see how bad it's really gotten. It'd be nice to see it get revamped, but honestly, I don't see that happening. With better stores just a short drive down the road, and how high the rent presumably is at Northfield Square, I feel as though once JC Penny is gone, everyone else will eventually clear out.

I visited this mall 2 weeks ago, and it trying to make a come back. It has serveral brand new resturants and new stores that open up. Also, they have a nail salon, for your girls only.

The marble area used to be a jewelry store then it was a puny arcade when the fun N games left the area that was in the corner next to the juice place. The place diagonal to the once jewelry store was a candy store
This does look like the mall in Marion but it's not. I will be releasing Illinois star center in the next couple of weeks and it is dead. These are twin malls built at the same time.
