I'm enjoying my Maverick XL very much, and you're helping me learn a lot! Thank you so much for each of your Maverick Monday videos!
Auto Hold is a life saver in stop and go traffic or in a drive thru
I love auto-hold. Saves your foot and saves your brakes. First only I used it, then my daughter took it up and finally my husband joined the club.
Hi i like auto-hold as well but not sure how it saves your brakes??
Recently started using auto hold. Great when you’re stopped for road construction. Don’t have to engage parking brake if you are tired of keeping foot on brake, but you do have to press on gas pedal to go forward. I don’t have it on all the time, but it’s a convenient little feature.
Thank you 😊
Hill start I get. Great for noobs driving a manual but you can achieve the same thing with a real parking brake. For people that don't need it you end up sitting dead in the street because you dumped the clutch too fast. Both of these things are just another failure point. Especially on an automatic. That card slot looks useful, though.
Only if the hill is steep does hill start assist make an impact. Most torque converter automatics shouldn’t roll back much. This is of more value on manual and DCT transmissions and where roll is more prevalent.
Auto hold is a nice feature in traffic but as implemented on the Maverick is a little resistant to releasing compared to other cars I owned or driven. It takes more throttle to release.
does the brake lights remain on when auto hold is in hold position?
Yes
Hill start? Never had a problem with an automatic.
I thought I would like the auto hold but you really have to be careful where your foot is because I've found that if I just barely touch the accelerator the auto, the hold releases and it's embarrassing if you are real close to the car in front of you!
