The ballet world has to change. Wow. I did not plan to do this video today but I honestly had to. The ballet world has to change and it has to change now. After reading this beautiful article about the toxic side of ballet, it only made it more clear how much the ballet world has to change. There is so much that no one talks about in the ballet industry. Sexual Abuse, Emotional abuse, Bullying, Harrasment, and so much more that we talk about in this video. It has to stop.
In todays video I dissect the pointe magazine article that has been circulating social media. It is honestly the first pointe magazine article that has really resonated with me as a Professional Ballet Dancer. The woman who wrote the article said it all perfectly. The ballet world has been damaged for far too long. It needs to change and while there is so much negativity...I am excited and confident about the future of the ballet world that we all love so much. By having these honest coversations, I hope it inspires you to have conversations of your own.
The ballet world has to change. And it all starts by using your voice.
