Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on RUclips, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on RUclips. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on RUclips, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

One of the most beautiful songs ever written, hits even harder knowing that Blood on the Tracks was recorded when Bob was in the midst of a painful divorce.
Beyond the beauty of the heartfelt lyrics and the lush acoustic instrumentation, Dylan turns in one of his most impassioned vocal performances. The notion that Dylan can’t sing is ludicrous especially if you believe as I do that singing is the art of communicating the story within the song. Dylan is a master vocalist and always has been.
Well said
very true
most people who think the best singers are those who just have the “golden voice” don’t realize that those singers aren’t the ones who really resonate with listeners. You dont have to have a perfect voice, most in the 60s/70s didnt..it was all emotional and the ability to communicate. Youre spot on
By his own admission never fully believe what Dylan says in interviews. He lets the music speak for itself.
Zactly
Beautiful, painful song by the grand master of story telling. That is one of the best male vocals I've ever heard, incredible singing, so emotional.
His son Jacob said that the songs on Blood on the Tracks "Are my parents talking."
A gem from the divorce album. The twin work is You're a big girl now, also with naked pain. The live version from Hard Rain is emotionally brutal, actually hard to listen to if you've gone through similar scenarios.
I think we have all felt this way at one time or another....so relateable
When you say "his first album, I think you're referring to his 2nd album - The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan. His first one is just called "Bob Dylan" and has only 2 songs written by him. The 2nd has a load of, as you say, heavy-hitters.
Great reaction again..
Keep Bob coming!!!
Dylan is the G.O.A.T..not those sports guys!!
Great reaction to Bob's poignant and earnest lyrics from someone whose heart is broken for the love he lost but to whom he still feels for and still wants to hang on to some part of it. Love takes two hearts and as such cannot follow solely by what you may wish for.
You are quickly learning how to LISTEN to Dylan. Approach his music emotionally. Resist the temptation to approach it cognitively. Finding meaning does not always require analysis.
"Bob Dylan" was his first LP. "Freewheelin'" was his second LP.
What a great song from Dylan, I do hope you get deeper into this album, Blonde on Blonde is a masterpiece to
Simple twist of fate has to be next.
The whole album is open like this. Try “Simple Twist Of Fate” from the same album. “He woke up. The room was bare. He didn’t see her anywhere. He told himself he didn’t care, pushed the window open wide.”
Makes you want to have a good cry. Great reaction.
Nice reaction . . . beautiful song by Bob.
They say a poet is a naked person. Bob Dylan is a poet that incidentally grew as a singer and a musician.....but he is a poet first of any other thing.
Title reminded me of another favorite tune from Canadian band April Wine "Say Hello", check it out
Perhaps bob’s best song?
There is a live performance of this song by Bob Lakeland 1976 - he changed some of the lyrics (some are not very audible and have been transcribed ) it is just heart wrenching, it's on youtube
Another "divorce song" you may check is Marvin Gaye's "When Did You Stop Loving Me, When Did I Stop Loving You". The whole album of Dylan's "Blood on the Tracks" arguably exhausts every emotions coming from a failed relationship: heartbreaking, regret, broken promises, loneiness, feeling fooled by the twist of fate, anger, self blaming, trying to find joy in sorrow....But you will find many of these complicated emotions in this single song.
#ShawnSalvadori -- no matter what he said later in interviews, this song and this album are about personal experience. Dylan changes his explanations all the time in interviews. Trust the song. He tries some narrative and structural experiments in the writing but it's ABOUT him & Sara.
On the same album, intense anger,, Idiot Wind and, Blood on the Tracks, A plus, album, Storytelling genius in Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts, could be a movie in the most condensed poetry,
Great reaction to an amazing song...
Alternate take from the version on the album, but it's just as stunning as the one on BLOOD ON THE TRACKS. One of my absolute favourite songs from The Bob, as I heard it for the first time when I was going through exactly what the lyrics conveyed. Love you reactions to Dylan man.
I'd love to see you do Dirge from the album before this one, it's just Bob on piano and Robbie Robertson on guitar and it's probably his most poignant and personal song, I mean just read the first verse: I hate myself for lovin' you and the weakness that it showed
You were just a painted face on a trip down Suicide Road
The stage was set, the lights went out all around the old hotel
I hate myself for lovin' you and I'm glad the curtain fell
might not be the greatest album ever written but its sure in the top 2
❤❤❤
One true love - Suze Rotolo
I'm not sure whether the tempo quietly speeds up as the song progress. The music at the beginning appears calm and easy, but towards the end it sounds like increasingly hurried and tangled up, conveys the feeling that he can't help but being disturbed as he "replays the past".
If you want to hear a song that was written about Bob Dylan, listen to Diamonds and Rust by Joan Baez
This one gets me every time . . .
this song hits hard to me due to a bad break up
Girl From the North Country has a similar vibe. Not the version with Johnny Cash. It's not as hurting, but it leans that way.
You're a Big Girl Now in another. Blood on the Tracks is a great album
P s.check out Bob's ..Slow train coming album..Bob does some great singing.m
Please do the live version of Bob's "Abandoned Love", not the 1985 Biograph version
Bob Dylan was his first album.
Yeah, guess I meant his second. Thought 'Freewheelin' was his first, but I was wrong
Been Dylan fan for 60 years. Everything he says in interviews needs to be taken with a HUGE grain of salt. Blood on the Tracks, has alot of Dylan’s personal loss, anger, and heartbreak, as he and Sara were breaking up. The song Sara is about as biographical as Dylan ever got.
What a sad song.
He also admits his guilt in causing the separation.
most every line is ended on the down
A finer song has never been written..
and Idiot Wind
It's really not a 'man' song it's about a break up. We are really not the same are we. Breaking up is sad.
Probably his last truly great album. No fillers...
Is that a joke? Desire, Oh Mercy, Time out of Mind, Modern Times, Rough and Rowdy Ways? All these albums are critically acclaimed and several of them have placements in top 500 albums of all time lists.
@@alabamaisyourdaddy6137 All solid albums but not up with his greatest in my opinion. You're welcome to your opinion. So you think they're up there with Blonde on Blonde, Bob Dylan, Basement Tapes, The Free Wheelin', Highway 61, The Times They are..,Bringing it All...? You must be joking.
@@kimn9802 Time out of mind, Desire and rough and rowdy ways are definitely on the level of times they are a changing but not the electric trilogy or Blood On The Tracks. The point I am trying to make is that you are comparing Dylan to Dylan and to say that he had no truly great albums past blood on the tracks is laughable
@@alabamaisyourdaddy6137 My point is that calling someone's opinion laughable is laughable. Your opinion is just as valid as mine and vice versa. It's like asking someone what their favourite colour is then telling them they're wrong. As for the argument that critical acclaim means something is also laughable. Musical history is littered with critics slating albums on release then having to eat their words later...
My least favorite song on the album.
