You're right, You get what you get from Bob Dylan. 'Could be deeply profound, or you might get completely silly. Or a heart-rending lament. Or something as surreal as Dahli's melting watches. Toss a coin. From this album, my favorite is: If You See Her Say Hello.
If you listen to Hootie and the Blowfish, " I Only Want to be With You," it refers to and uses lyrics from this album, especially "Tangled Up in Blue". Darius Rucker is a big Bob Dylan fan.

I bought this album when it first came out. Two weeks later I had added 6 songs from it to my repertoire! Definitely one of my favorite Dylan albums. And of course this was one of the songs I learned from it.
Dylan is Dylan-like the Forrest Gump Box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. I've seem him change songs live that have new or different lyrics and the music played in a new way or almost completely unrecognizable. You buy the ticket, you take the ride.
