Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on RUclips, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on RUclips. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on RUclips, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.

Growing up listening to this song I swore I was going to buy a brass bed for my first place. The song stayed with me but I never got that brass bed. I did have a king size bed though. I still remember the night my late wife (married almost 42 years before cancer took her) stayed with me "till I saw her in the morning light." This song was going through my mind that night and every night prior that I tried to get her to "stay with her man awhile." That first time was 10 years after this song came out. Makes me cry to hear it now.

This was recorded in the late 60's after his motorcycle accident. He went into retreat for a while, and came out a changed man, with a new musical direction. Even his voice had changed. Incredibly, and lucky for us, he is still active at the age of 82. I just can't imagine a world without Bob Dylan .......

Then i'd have been 19. 'Conjures up a memory of walkin' through the thickest fog i've ever seen, up and down Seal Beach searching for a girl named Sean. This song was in the air.

"Nashville Skyline" album is superb, top to bottom - all cuts are prime. There's a touching duet with Johnny Cash, a bluegrass instrumental that rocks, and eight country-flavored gems sung by Bob Dylan in his straight-ahead smooth crooner style. My favorite Dylan album.

Nashville Skyline is one of Dylan's very best (and best-selling) albums, a laid back, feel-good masterpiece.

The story I've heard is that Dylan quit smoking for several months to give his voice that smooth resonance. A great later era song by him is Everything Is Broken!

The Nashville Skyline album is very laid back but there are two gems that stand out. One is "I Threw It All Away", heartfelt and Dylan at his lyric best, the other is the gorgeous and mellow duet with Johnny Cash "Girl From the North Country".

Dylan was asked why he sounded so different on this album? He responded by saying that he had quit smoking and drinking during those sessions.

I remember in 7th grade slow dancing to this song with my first real (intimate) girlfriend at a Friday night dance in the jr. high gym. I couldn't believe Dylan could sing like that. Years later in a magazine interview he said he had tried to quit smoking just before going to Nashville to record Nashville Skyline, which was his best album until Blood on the Tracks ("Tangled Up in Blue") in 1975.

When I heard this one in the charts in the early 70s, it proved a stepping stone to get me into Bob Dylan. I liked the smooth texture, the slide guitar, the gentle organ sounds. I found out it wasn't like his normal stuff, but by then I was hooked. Nashville skyline was an experiment in country music, he teamed up to sing a few with Johnny Cash about the same time. Dylan admired the Everley brothers too, he included a cover of their Let it be me, on his Self Portrait album.
Can you do a review of his Watching the river flow ? Very first track on his superb collection More of Bob Dylan's greatest hits. A cracking rocker with great piano playing in the back. Often gets overlooked.

I am a loyal, true Dylan follower, rarely listen to other artists, have all the official albums and many bootlegs and live performances, seen him 15 or so times (not that many according to many others) but for some reason I just do not "get" this song, totally unsure why. I appreciate that so many folk "love" this song and they prefer this Dylan song rather than his other stuff. Keep on keeping on listening to this amazing artist ....

Other than being a great song, the album Nashville Skyline is somewhat overproduced. All that bass and reverb they put on his voice to make it more resonant, and the instrumentation probably did more to vary from his real sound than I would have liked. But still there's some good music and this song is nice as different as it was for him.

You should react to "Girl From the North Country" ft. Johnny Cash from this album. Make sure it's the Cash version, as he recorded it independently. He sounded much better with Cash, and their voice meld together perfectly.
