Very excited for this magazine.
Behind you 100%, Scott.
Great interview, Luka.
You and me both!
Thank you Joel! We are with you too!
Excellent. Great news. Thanks for sharing. Subscribed for 2 years.
Awesome! Be sure to share your thoughts on the first issue.
I spent some time talking to these magazine guys at the SoCal Open at Chatsworth in May. I was hanging out with my old friend Armando Flores but he had to deal with his judge responsibilities so I was wandering around and met the 2 guys from the new magazine. Seemed like good guys. I plan to subscribe. Then cancer, radiation, chemo and hospital fun have gotten in the way of any model activities for me since. But DO intend to still now that I'm starting to work on models again. 👍 All Ive been able to do has been watching videos on RUclips. Names getting tossed around on this discussion are plenty familiar over a few decades.
Im glad to hear that you are on thecroad to better health for you.
Hang in there. Keep your strength. We will see you at SoCal Next year!
Great interview, guys. I'm really looking forward to the magazine.
Thanks, Art. We will be at the SO Cal Open again next year. Great show.
Sounds like a great new magazine. I just subbed. Good luck to Scott & his exceptional team. Thanks for the promotion Matt.
Yeah, It's pretty cool, Rick. And you know, WHO approves.
Thank you for the support!
Excellent Podcast Luka, Scott I've been to the Mini Nationals many times, the real car show is massive you will be amazed. It's so large they have trolleys circulating the fair grounds.
Nani and I are really looking forward to covering the madels and checking out the show. I'll bring my good shoes!
Thanks for video Luka, Good Stuff. Hey, I'm digging that Groovy music on the Intro, Positive Vibes Babe.....WOOF, WOOF
Wouldn't be crazy if the magazine had a model created, sold it to their subscribers, and then had a build contest with the kits? Probably out there, but something that popped in my head while watching.
This is great news . Can't wait for this new mag to come out.
The first issue will be out in the first week of August. Let us know what you think.
I'm in for an issue!!
Thank you David! Let us know what you think of that first issue.
great news about the magazine !
Thanks Sean. Let us know what you think about the first issue.
I believe that there has been a “vacuum” in the model magazine market, ever since Scale Auto Enthusiast was “absorbed” into Fine Scale Modeler magazine. ( Although FSM is still a great magazine, recent upheaval at Kalmbach has “cast some doubt” in their direction ) it is my belief that FSM covers ( very well ) tanks, armor, aircraft, spacecraft, dioramas, ships and figures….. but had struggled somewhat to adequately cover the “model car” market. I think the car modeler market is as different from the “normal” FSM demographic…….as Sailboats are different from HO Scale Trains. It is said that “Nature Abhors a Vacuum” - and now the “Vacuum” will be filled. I subscribed today, and l can’t wait to see the first issue. Good luck, and God speed! 👍😄👌😎
Thank for subbing to the mag.
In the UK a copy of FSM is about $15-20, way too much for about six pages of car stuff 😢
Thank you for your subscription. We look forward bringing you great models and great modeling stories. Let us know what you think.
The time is ripe for a new car model magazine. Make it so!
Ira dahm was in Car model magazine--Mr. veg a matic is still cutting up model cars-on the internet groups-I know Rick Hanmore and always would ask him if he would do more articles-this magazine sounds GREAT--there was a big void after they killed SAE-i have been telling all my model car friends about the new magazine -review resin bodies etc. top of my pick-Drag City Casting-Ed Fluck jr.
Thank you for spreading the word! We REALLY like getting to join forces with greats from our hobby. Watch for more young guns too! More on the later.
I used to promote the Syracuse Mini Nationals. Myself and my best friend Jack Grosso, the founder of the contest, tried for years to get a photographer from a magazine to come in and take pictures. Finally i said I'm gonna by a camera and we will send pictures to the Magazines. Boy i had a lot to learn lol. Never got any pictures published but i kept getting better with the pictures. Nobody ever said to use a macro lense so as soon as I can, I'll be buying a macro lense. You just gave me insperation to trying to get picture in a magazine again
Yes, a decent digital camera with Macro. Good lighting. And always set your white balance.
Wow, another SAM member. Ron Z is still around, and my dad stays in contact (we were both part of SAM '80s and '90s).
Looking forward to the magazine.
Billy! How cool to hear from you!
Great interview
Luka Cee is a fun conversation!
If Scale Auto was in better hands, I think it would still be around. Starting in 2000 they seemed a little lost with including Die Cast reviews. It wasn't until Kirk Bell got involved that things seemed to improve a little bit.
I miss miss that old Scale Auto too. Those issues from the 80s and 90s were so motivating. I still have a LOT of back issues. Fun to look at.
as soon as I watched your last video matt, I subbed to Auto Modeler immediately . great show Felix.
Thank you, Daniel!
Thank you for your subscription. Remember to let us know what you think of that first issue.
@scottcolmer8735 you can count on it . Looking forward to the first issue.
Try Gary Campesi for the 'Sketch Book' section.
Just checked his website. Whoah! that's the stuff I am looking for. Thanks for the tip.
Nice mag logo. It's got the Toyota racing division colors and stripes.
Sweet good to see we get another magazine! Black widow, what a kit to start with ! Wow, !👍🏻🫡🇺🇸
I wish I still had that last part! I was luck in that all I had to do was figure out where the sub assemblies went. - Body, engine, roof, wheels and tires. Lets us know how you like the mag.
