My brother and I, two white kids living on the coast of North Carolina in the 1970's, used to listen to Duke Robert's Beach Party radio every chance we got and grew up to love The Trammps, The Embers, General Johnson & the Chairmen of the Board, The Catalinas...and so many others. Such great memories that I'll always cherish.
This track is, to this day, considered a Carolina Beach Music classic. My S.O. and I vacationed in the Outer Banks last year (in Duck, NC)...the first day, when we went down to the beach, we were greeted by this song coming from somebody's "boom box." We set up by the couple with the music, and they played practically their whole "Beach Music" playlist (the Band of Oz, General Johnson and the Showmen, the Tams, the Clovers, Willie Tee and on and on.)....best day of the trip. I love this song. I'm old enough to remember when those outfits were considered cool. 🤣🤣🤣
Absolutely fantastic now here is real musicians loved the disco in 70,s I’m 63 listening to all this beautiful music just takes me back to my happy place’s I’ve been so long ago.
That’s outstanding! My band (Dutchman) was given a “bottle of red” from Billy Joel. The wine case was a gift to his guitar tech, who happened to be involved at a venue my bandmate was apart of for the night. Graciously he was given instructions to hand us a bottle for being good lads. Small and great world, just gotta be there!
Still listening in 2024. Tra.mmps are so smooth. Love the steps. I love Ellis & Young vocals, their music take me to my happy place. Zing is my favorite song so many hits.❤😊❤
Unbelievable talent. Love the tramps. Definitely brings me back to the 70s I am 57 years old and still dancing and dancing! Girls and girls and girls. Oh yeah!
Though I am not Black myself, I have held a special place in my heart for Blacks because of the Rich Music that has enriched our culture so much. I wrote about that in my book: God is Love.
Watched the BBC Proms Northern Soul Wigan Casino homage tonight and this was one of the tunes they performed. The NS anoraks among us will know that it was the instrumental version Scrub-Board that was first played at the Casino…😅 Either way, a great tune that evokes a wonderful time in our lives!
this was one of my favourite songs at 15 yrs old , great music and times back then. still love this song today Bring back this music . how time flies by
2020?! 47 here! I was music freak from the beginning! Grew up in musicians family, I didn't sang myself for quite some time, I'm so honored that I lived the 70s/80's! All in full conscience! It was the best from all centuries I just know that! Love from the Netherlands

This is soul music . Absolutely Brilliant...I wish music was like this again.
This is one of the best Disco Soul numbers of the seventies.

No one calling anyone a ho, just sweet gentle music. Please bring it back.
I played this so much when I had cancer, it lifted my spirit, and yes I survived beating all the odds, as they said it was inoperable.
Impeccable man, …. right on 👍🏼

70s RnB, what an era that has sadly come and gone, blessed witness, sadly we will never experience this again as I sigh...
I love it. It reminds me when I was very young and living in Antwerp (Belgium).
Rest in peace Jimmy ellis
