I always say too my family and friends, that if could go back in time to the 70,s I would be in heaven. The best time of my life, the fantastic music, the hippie era, the sexual revolution. There was respect and honor among men,at least were I grew up.Downtown Baby, Christie pits, little Italy.I wish I could take a Time Machine back to the 70,s ,Happyest time of my life God Bless.
🎉I totally understand this song, yes well over 60, Eighty. Danced to this song with my true love & wife of fifty five years. Lost her two years ago. She still zings my heart❤
Wow my uncle lived faucet Road. I came out of hospital after 13 weeks .my mate and I drank 20 pints each I went back to the guest house I was so sorry to him I let him down .I gave him all my money and he went off to Joannas . I remember chatting up the women .some one said don't bother with them mate there all skate bate always stuck in my head we were from the Midlands.
Ha! I was a young sailor boy based in Pompey in 1974-75. Joanna's was my second home back then. Who knows, we may have even done a soft shoe shuffle around the dancefloor (and the tree) together?
True story. I spent my Summers at a Jersey shore town SeaSide Heights. I first saw the Trammps at a club in my home town. So I'm at this club in SeaSide watching the Trammps... They go on break, Ya can't get a drink at the bar 'cause there are too many people there. So I go to a place on the Boardwalk to get a beer..... Hanging out minding my own business, I start looking around, AND to the left of me sitting there having beers were the singers from the Trammps.... We said hi!!! I was kool then freeked out when they said back to the next set. I WAS THERE>>>>>>>>>>>> This was 1976.
@@hermanrembert9143 Jimmy Ellis was amazing. Maybe underrated. Jimmy Ellis & Donna Summer were probably why disco exploded to the top. The Trammps were the original disco group. Hopefully it comes back in these depressing times. Where the Happy People Go. Thanks Jimmy Ellis & Earl Young
Just listened at the COASTERS, and I have to give to the Best performance on this one, The TRAMPS, bet everybody out, even the original by Judy Garland in 1935 and Frank Sinatra!!!
A great version with a up tempo more Mo Town 1975 sound. But with all do respect "The Coasters" 1958 version with Will "Dub"Jones singing Bass has been the all time classic on this song!
The 70's music was the best
Yes, it was.
Anos 70 de volta. Tempo bom demais!
It was, however this record was originally sung by Judy Garland in 1948.
@@gotobedandtickler Bit further back than that . She was singing it before the War in the 1930s.
Come on you 60 years + who remembers this? 👍❤️
64.....remember and love it....❤
How good music used to sound. A floor filler at any disco in those days.
So fine!

When music was good , what more can I say
Now 66 years, sure do remember this song, still sounds good. 70's decades away.. back in day.
Never realised how a bass vocal lead could sound so incredible!
The base lead is founder of The Tramps and super drummer of Salsoul orchestra, mfsb n tsop...the philly drum machine Earl Young...
😄😄
Yes! Makes a real difference.
Earl Young who was also the drummer in
MFSB.
