I've wanted to create a comprehensive video on flooring for SO LONG, and it's finally HERE!!! Flooring is such a big investment and design decision for your home, and it's so important to choose a flooring that fits your style, budget, and functional needs! Let me know which part of the video you found most helpful, and remember to download our FREE Flooring Guide (at the top of the video description) so you can keep all the essential flooring info at your fingertips!
Here in the UK 🇬🇧 tiled floors are so durable, varied and makes a room really stand out - those made to look like wooden flooring always my go to - thanks Ashley 🤎
You’re so welcome! I honestly loved putting it together. There’s just so many options when it comes to flooring so I’m so glad the video and guide are helpful!! ❤️
@@ashleychilders no, it does not have access to outside. It is a refresh that we’re doing. Kid zone now, but last one moving out soon. It has a low pile carpet now and has held up great! It is the only space in our home that has carpet. All the other spaces have hardwood or tile. Thanks for replying!!
@@lisahoerr9713 okay, if you want it as a cozy hangout/tv space, carpet honestly is a great insulator and absorbs sound so well. You could totally do a beautiful tile (to mix things up and be super durable) or wood, I’d just plan for a large area rug also, to absorb sound and make it feel super cozy and welcoming!
We are building a traditional custom house in NJ we are thinking Brazilian cherry about 5.5 inch wide variable length hardwood flooring. Is this out of style in contemporary interior design? Most I see being highly promoted are broad white oak. Please advise. I do not see many recent videos about different wood species and style of the house..
THIS WAS SO HELPFUL, love your videos! I couldn't download the flooring guide though.. I tried a few times but the "download here" icon on the email doesn't highlight(activate) to download the guide. Anybody else on the same?
Well, I kinda like to mix it up, especially if there’s different seating grouping! I think that having a common color palette is a good idea, but then you could mix it up with the style/pattern/weave type!
I didn't see any mention of laminate floors. My niece recently had them installed in the home they inherited from their grandparents. I thought lvp would have been recommended, but the builder suggested laminate as being stronger with their large dog.

Thanks Ashley! Trying to decide for our basement flooring.
Hum…. Does it have a direct access outside? What are you using the space for?

Oh Yikes!! I’ll double check it as soon as I’m in front of my computer, thanks so much for letting me know! 😅 I’m so happy you enjoyed the video!
Our living room and dining room is an L shape, do you match both area rugs identical or different patterns. Thanks for your help.

How interesting! We generally don’t use laminate, but I’m sure there are situations that make it a great choice! Thanks so much for watching ❤️❤️
