    Thanks for calling out this blasphemous doctrine! Needs to be more like you. The 5 points of calvinism perversion gives a green light to any sin possible without any conviction.

    There is no way to candy coat it.
    John Calvin was a murderer, burning Christians at the stake, as if he were God and had the power to judge men.
    Nothing good can come out of a dishonorable vessel.

      Trust me when I say that Calvinists will have an answer for Johnny's bad behavior (like that is just what they did back then). John Calvin was a tyrant who ruled with an iron fist (similar to Stalin). Utterly amazing that anyone would worship his writings. Similar to Mormons who follow perverted leaders (Joseph Smith with his 40 wives & Brigham Young with 56 wives), Calvinists follow a murderer and simply choose to ignore his unruly life.

      You have the word of God and you have the fact that Jesus Christ never taught the word of God from the Bible they read Jesus Christ taught his deciples from the Septuagint.
      The original word of God was written in Hebrew and in Greek
      The fact is there are many Pastors and preachers who have the 9 gifts of the spirit and have done miracles in his name at these times so you have that truth as your foundation.

      tricord, you don't interpret that passage correctly and you claim they cannot believe despite Jesus who commands people to "enter by the strait gate" which is the narrow way that leads to life (Through faith in Him) and He warns us that the Broad Way leads to destruction. Why would Jesus bother to tell us that? Why would Jesus command us to do anything that He already predestined us to do and we have no choice in the matter?

      @@faithonfireministries Verse 4 literally & verse 5 says He ‘predestined us for adoption. states: Ephesians 1:4-5 [4] “even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love [5] he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,” This harmonizes with John 10:16, that you missed.

    I was in the comment section of your Mark Driscoll video the other day and one of the Calvinist trolls was trying to say that John 3:16 doesn’t say that Jesus died for everyone and I showed him both the words and their context and I had to repeat that to him over and over again because he kept denying it and pulling up other arguments avoiding the evidence. Talking to these Calvinists is like talking to the wall.

      I've finally realized what Calvinism is about, its about defending Calvinism
      not the Bible.
      You have to follow their thought process to understand what they believe.
      If you just read the Bible you never will.
      It's like going down the rabbit hole, theology in a tube.
      You can't argue with them, because they can't see out of their hole.
      The Bible is a Narrative, God's Story, from Genesis all the way through to Revelation.
      We have an invitation to be part of it.
      Calvinism is a usurper that tries to impose it's own ideas on to the message, completely ignoring the story.

    I don’t understand how Christians don’t see that the doctrine of limited atonement denies the very work of Christ.
    And how they can say things like, “well I’m not a Calvinist, but I still listen to John MacArthur”. What?
    This is no small thing. It’s wicked.
    It’s like spitting on the cross.
    Imagine saying to God who gave his Son, who he refers to in Ephesians chapter 1 verse 6 as his beloved, that he didn’t die for the sins of the world when he actually did.
    Imagine the furious anger of God every time a person loses heart, and despairs because of this blasphemous and brutal doctrine.
    Calvinist are told to look inwardly to judge whether they are truly saved , instead of to the cross. When I look inwardly it leads me to despair, but when I looked to the cross, it leads me to repentance and faith and hope.

      Unless you are a universalist you believe in limited Atonement, either man or God does the limiting. In a man over God theology, it is man by his decree, in a God over man theology, it is Gods decree.

    It's funny cuz I hear some Christians talk about John MacArthur in a good way or at least sort of a good way but certainly not a bad way and it confuses me, even someone that I respect as a preacher did that... Anyway I love that you break this all down for everyone to understand... I share this as much as I can because there's a lot of people, even the church I go to has a book that John MacArthur wrote on the desk for anyone to take if they want it... I wonder if they even know he's a calvinist....

    21:30 To add to your point about praying for God's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven...
    Noticed in verse 11 that the word 'counsel' in the phrase "counsel of His will" is the Greek word 'boulen', which is the exact word used in Luke 7:30, where the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the "counsel of God". Calvinists are adamant that His counsel is undeniable and cannot be rejected by mere created man. And yet clearly on earth, man can choose to reject it...

    Great video.
    I think Ephesians 1:4 is not properly understood if you read over "in him" without grasping the concept. Believers, those who are in Christ, are predestinated to be holy and without blame. This is only possible once you accept Christ as your Savior.
    There are numerous passages that describe God's irreversible Grace to the believer upon believing in the Gospel, but I like to use Philippians 1:5-6. God began a good work in us (the moment we chose to believe and are eternally saved) and will perform it (the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) until we are glorified (the redemption of our body), hence we are "predestinated."

    Thank you for exposing yet another example of how Calvinists have "upgraded" the Bible by neutralizing yet another inconvenient verse.
    Praises ever be for Theodor Beza and other "translators" who corrected the errors of the Textus Receptus so that the Geneva Bible could give True Calvinist Testimony! Praises ever be to Beza's gift of Latin which he turned to the Service of Calvinistic Truth. Praise also the successors of Beza who, even today, upgraded the Bible to conform to the True Holiness of Calvin's Institutes. Pay no heed to the foul slanderers who claim that Beza's other work of homoerotic love verses is Gay Pornography.

First Corinthians 1;21 For after that, by the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God, by the foolishness of preaching (First Corinthians 15:1-4) to save them that BELIEVE. God is no respecter of persons and will save anyone who accepts His free gift of eternal life. John 6:47. God cannot lie. John 5:24.

And we do not persevere in the faith to stay saved. Second Timothy 2:13. And we do not get the seal of the Holy Spirit until after we believe the gospel, not before. Ephesians 1:13-14. Ephesians 4:30.
      The gift of God is eternal life. Not faith or a reward for good behavior. First John 5:13.

      Calvinist are trusting in their own works. Not Jesus finished work on the cross plus nothing. Romans 11:6. The verse Calvinist hate. Romans 4:5. But to him that worketh not, but BELIEVETH on Him who JUSTIFIETH the UNGODLY, his faith is counted for His perfect RIGHTEOUSNESS. Romans 4:6. Romans 8:9. Without the Spirit there is no salvation. With the Spirit we have eternal life. Ephesians 1:13-14. Hebrews 13:5. For He Hath said, I will never leave you or forsake you.
      I have never heard a Calvinist say they are not one of the chosen. Because they are trusting in their works. Matthew 7:21-23. Those that are trusting in their own works are told, depart from me ye that work iniquity, I never knew you. Not I did know you and now I don't, I never KNEW YOU. Your trusted in what you did, not what I did for you. John 6:40, and John 6:29.

    Calvinist seem to work very hard to protect their doctrine from the scriptures. Yet, their own champion Charles Spurgeon didn’t do that. He just preached the text.

    Well done!!! this man made doctrine is clever, yet we can pray that those we love/ care about will be drug out of this convoluted mess.. which even has to add secondary means or prescriptive will verses ugh anyway hopefully they sense a nudge from the Holy Spirit who is here convicting the world of sin and of righteousness absolutley if we are not in Him alone then -ugh😢 I don't think everyone who claims so be a calvinist understands the systematic, but I know it hurts many people who are unaware imo🌻

    REVERSE READING
    They reverse the order of Gods revelation
    They don't say God so loved the elect that He gave His only Son (John 3:16)
    That is what they mean because God saves only the elect
    Whether they say it or not their theology must mean that is what they believe
    Therefore they justify what they say
    The elect are the ones who have become the chosen when they receive Him
    When you are in Christ
    He is Chosen
    We only become the elect when we receive what God gives
    Then we will have been chosen because we are in Christ
    Not to get into Him
    To as many as received Him to them He gave Power to become Sons of God. John 1:12
    The way Calvinism puts it reverses the order
    The reason the Bible puts it that way is because that's the way it is
    Anything else is presupposition

      You are the one who reverse the scriptures, You said that you become the elect after you received Christ.. Where did you get that belief? Ah, that was taught to you by either Leighton or Kevin Thompson. They are both wrong, don't be deceived. John 3:16 reveals Limited Atonement.. Only those whosoever believes in Christ are the only ones who can be saved and they are the elect.. The rest are the reprobates that cannot be saved because they are the children of the devil..
      Exmple of the children of the devil can be found in John 8:44

      I've been reading the Bible and following Jesus
      for over 40 years
      I've heard and at times believed many things that proved to be not true
      I should have listened to and trusted the Holy Spirit because the scripture
      turned out to be just as it is written

    5:50 "WORKS'?.....Ironically, as a true Calvinist, even John MacArthur doesn't know for sure if he has the necessary "Gift of Perseverance" as required by his doctrine of TULIP. Nobody can ever know if the have 'it' or will get 'it' while they are still fogging a mirror. Calvinism affords no such assurance. They claim all people are born hating God and none can, or would, profess Christ apart from God's effectual, forceful, deliberate action upon them causing them to make that claim. And this is only done to a lucky few who were 'elected' to be saved before the world was born. And, according to their doctrine of 'Total Depravity', NO 'unregenerate' would, or ever could, profess Christ, they simply can't.
    However, that is a double-edged sword. Because the same is also true for anyone who later abandons their profession of faith in Christ, as some do. Any demonstration of apostasy is merely another manifestation of God's decree. That's the fly in Calvin's ointment.
    John Calvin called it 'Evanescent Grace'. A fake temporary faith which God gives to some, causing them to believe and live convincingly "as-if" they're saved. But, only for a time... sometimes a long time... sometimes a lifetime... but God later withdraws that 'faith' and they go to Hell and eternal damnation because he never loved them anyway. Their entire Christian experience was just an illusion for God's own pleasure. He created them as vessels of wrath for destruction, from the foundation of the world and they never even knew it.
    If it is true, and God does that to some... no one ever knows if he's doing it to them. A Calvinist cannot even trust in their own profession of faith. Neither can they point to any Christian activities or desires as 'evidence' of salvation because none of these are choices of their 'own' but merely a manifestation of God's eternal predestined decree for them today which may not last until tomorrow.
    We'll just have to wait and see if their faith is the real stuff. But they'll never know for sure until they're dead. And we who are left behind are just left to wonder if they 'made it' or not.
    End result: They are worshiping a God who cannot be trusted to love any one... for certain.
    It's a lie... but that's Calvinism folks. It's just never spoken of much out loud because it's too UGLY to think about. And, since even man's choice to believe and accept Christ is supposedly 'all God', you're either picked to be "In" or you're "out". And there's nothing that can be done about it anyway. God's the great Seinfeld 'Soup Nazi' in the sky..... "NO GRACE FOR YOU!"
    Whether they realize it yet or not, all Calvinists are just whistling past the graveyard and hoping for the best.

      First, I did not 'trample the Calvinist'. My contention is always with Calvinism. Not those who have fallen prey and have become convinced by its web of deception. My statements may be 'direct' and perhaps even seem combative, but they are firmly grounded in the unavoidable consequences of Calvinist doctrine.
      It's interesting and predictable, almost boring, that whenever most Calvinists are confronted with their own doctrine stated in plain language, absent their preferred euphemisms, they recoil and try to explain and defend what cannot be explained or defended. In the end the conversation ends one of two ways, or both.
      1. You just don't understand Calvinism.
      2. Who are you to question God?
      LOL. They can never seem to accept that any one rejects Calvinism because they DO understand it. And... they cannot grasp that it is not God, but Calvinism being questioned.
      Second, as regarding my own salvation: I believe the God of the Bible can be trusted to save whosoever will believe, just as he promised. I have believed for over 60yrs and I have no doubt he will honor his promise and his word. In a sentence, Yes, I am sure I am saved.
      As I said, an honest Calvinist who understands their doctrine can never say that about anyone, even the man in the mirror.

    If OSAS is not true then youre constantly looking to yourself to make sure youre maintaining salvation - it becomes about your good works. The only way around that is to believe once youre born again you are forever born again. Im happy to see you believe that as well

    Being chosen in Christ before creation would have to mean that the elect get out of Christ when they are born and are no longer chosen/elect at that point. They are as dead as corpses and need to be made alive/regenerated so that they can believe and be made alive. There are so many more contradictions in Calvinism. 🤦

    Calvinists love to frontload and backload the gospel. Some Calvinist theologians have an Elitist attitude because they believe Jesus only died for them. They forget the scripture 1John 2:2. They believe that God is Soverign where He forces you to believe or resist Him, which is heresy. Jesus died for all, and everyone has the opportunity to believe in Him. John Calvin used his own soveignty to murder whoever didn't believe his theology.

If I bake cookies for all the children in the classroom as a gift to the class, it doesn't mean all the children will take a cookie.       Yes, it is a quite a blasphemous charge against God but Calvinists teach that even though God made many with no ability to believe the Gospel and therefore not chosen for salvation and are predestined to hell, that God is still righteously judging them to hell because the fact remains they sinned. They call this accountability for sin though not elected by God for having any ability to be saved "compatibilism" and it is utter inconsistent nonsense.

      Our God is a God of love and I find it very hard to believe that He would make many people with no chance or hope of salvation to just be sent to Hell to perish. Yes we are sinners and the wages of sin are death, but Christ on the cross had paid the price for our sin. Jesus died for every single person who will ever live, but not everyone has chosen or will chose Him.
      Calvinism sounds like a cruel caste system saying that some are elected to heaven and some are elected to hell. This sounds like a doctrine straight out of the pits of hell .

    Conditional once saved always saved is true. Unconditional once saved always saved is wrong. Its because the important doctrines about sinnature and sanctification also is needed to be teached, preached and understood correctly. To remain in our salvation it is needed to have victory over sin.

    If John 3:16 is for everyone why does Ephesians 5:25 say Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it. Is the world the church is the church the world? The word So is an adverb it shows and tells how he loved. It modify the word love. It does not say he loved so much it says he so loved in this fashioned. He died for many the scripture also says so what are you trying to say? Whosoever is not in the Greek text at all. I’m not a Calvinist at alllllll and don’t agree with all Calvin says. But predestination was here and taught before Calvin was born.

    Some of the responses I get from Calvinists regarding these verses are that you can't even believe if you are not one of the "elect", and that Paul's conversion proves that unconditional election is true. Also, that regeneration doesn't proceed faith, but that it happens simultaneously. That's how its been explained to me. I AM NOT a Calvinist, btw. Reject it completely, but this is what they tell me. They also always quote to me Romans 3:10-18 for Total Depravity and just laugh at me whenever I mention context. I dont know how to respond to these people anymore

    The phrase God must show his wrath for glory, it's not making him sound righteous for judgement on wicked people but a bully who picks on the weak kid so everyone will look at him like he's a tough guy. If God is slow to wrath and ultimately what's mercy for ppl his first objective is to show love to people.       Absolutely nobody has ever been saved by giving their life to Christ.
      You don't receive a gift by giving anything for it.

    The problem I have with “once saved always saved” is that a well known minister was asked if a homosexual comes to know the Lord and give his heart to the Lord. The minister was asked. If this person continue to practice homosexuality after he got saved, will he go to heaven? The minister answer was “absolutely yes.” What’s your take on that answer. Thanks

      If that person were to ask if a liar had been given the gospel and they believed it then afterwards tell a lie are they still saved?
      How about about someone that’s constantly worrying and then they believe the gospel yet afterwards they go back to living a life of worrying. Jesus commands us not to worry and any commandment that he gives and it’s not followed is a sin. Are they still saved?
      Or how about a person who has anger issues and they believe the gospel yet go back to road raging and being angry with their spouse and kids. Are they still saved?
      I’m sure glad that ALL of my sins were forgiven the moment I believed in Jesus Christ for the remission of them.
      You should rejoice that once you’re saved you don’t have to work to stay saved because of you did then you wouldn’t be saved because you fall into sin like the rest of us do.

    This is baffling to me John 3:16 even implies free will. I think everybody is stuck on the word whosoever instead of the complete phrase whosoever believeth in him. And we all know the dead men can't do anything. That they are dead in trespasses and sins they're born after Adam.. they are dead blind and can't do anything. Unless God draws us to himself makes us alive while we were dead gives us ears to hear and eyes to see we can never believe the gospel. The Bible says faith is a gift and Christ is the author and finisher of it. We take zero credit for salvation and have no confidence in the flesh. Jesus said I lay down my life for the sheep. He also said to the Pharisees you do not believe because you are not my sheep. My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me and the voice of a stranger they will not recognize.. obviously speaking of the hearing of faith. I could go on and on but salvation is of the Lord it is not an opportunity provided for a bunch of people who are all the same. There are wheat and tares sheep and goats the Kingdom of light a kingdom of darkness.. there are those four known of God and there are those who are of their father the devil. The scripture is quite clear in so many ways

      Calvinism doesnt even make it out of Genesis: God commanded Adam and Eve to not eat the Apple, then Satan arrived and tempted Eve - if you go with the Calvinist world-view then either God has secret commands that arent in the Bible or Satan's temptations are more powerful than God's commands. The simplest, most logical, and most Biblical reading is that Adam and Eve choose disobedience, and by logical extension people today to the same exact thing even though they have the added benefit of the Holy Spirit convicted them of their sin.

    Calvinism, when quoting Romans 8:30..."and those whom he predestined he also called"...YOU need to go back to verse 29, "For those whom he FOREKNEW he also predestined to be conformed..." In other words, God called us because he already knew we would believe so he predestined us to be the image of his Son and do good works. Verse 29 seems to be left out when quoting Romans 8:30 regarding Calvinist's? God Bless

    I totally agree, I started my walk with the Lord in a Southern Baptist church, but when doing my own bible study I found scriptures that did not agree with once saved always saved, and started asking questions, after a few times, I was told I was being bad or naughty and just to believe it because they said so.

    God does not like his word to be added to or taken away from by anyone, and church or any denomination period. but from what I have experienced, various denominations all lay claim to "rightly dividing" God's word and go off into la-la land with their "interpretations" based on "rightly dividing" God did not give us rightly dividing so that we could use it to add to or take away from His word and call it good.
    By the way look up The Houston Chronicle and San Antonio Sun joint report on "Abuse of faith" this cornicles 20 years of court documents of cases of predatory abuse within the Baptist (SBC) 700 victims over 20 years by 400 pastors, deacons, youth pastors, and church run school principles/teachers, for even further study there is a very good resource "the big book of bad Baptist preachers" which chronicles 100 cases of abuse with names, dates, and sentencing.
    A denomination is defined as existing within a specific country.
    There are 33,000+ total of these "Christian denominations" in 238 total countries.
    These 33,000 are subdivided into "6 major ecclesiastical-cultural mega-blocs", and ordering them by denomination size we have (I am rounding up or down slightly for convenience, using the year 2000 figures) :
    Independents (about 22000)
    Protestants (about 9000)
    "Marginals" (about 1600)
    Orthodox (781)
    Roman Catholics (242)
    Anglicans (168)
    So the 33,000 number is from the total of these 6 mega-blocs:
    22000 + 9000 + 1600 + 781 + 242 + 168 = 33,000+
    so which one is the church that Jesus started?

    Jesus started His church and it has never been prevailed against, and has come down to us just as pure as it was when Jesus started it, to claim that a denomination or church is just restoring what Jesus started are liars, if you have to restore it, then it fell, and needed restoration, which Jesus said even the gates of hell would not prevail against His church.
    Again which one of the above 33,000 is the one Jesus started? none of the above, His church is still here having come down to us as is from the time He started it, all others have come after and are man made.

      These are very specific things that God says if you do them you will not inherit the kingdom of God, 400 Southern Baptist pastors and others in leaderships positions, you know those who also preach and teach osas, molested 700 victims one of which was only 3 years old, and many of them were boys.
      osas made that possible, when you tell people that no sin no matter what it is nor how much of it you do can keep you out of Heaven after you have made a profession of Christ, you open the door to all of those sins and more.
      Charles Stanley was answering a letter from a woman about her son who had been saved but then said that God was ok with his new lifestyle, asked if her son would go to Heaven when he died having given himself to that lifestyle.
      Dr. Stanley affirmed that if he had been saved, that yes even though he now denied the truth of God's word and was practicing that lifestyle, if he died he would go to Heaven, of course Dr. Stanley said he would lose his rewards.
      So let me get this straight, all the sins that I committed before I got saved would keep me out of Heaven, but after I got saved, if i do those very same sins, I still have Heaven in the bag according to baptist theology, ya no thanks, I do not want any part of a religion that claims that the same sins that would bar you from Heaven before salvation will not keep you out of Heaven after salvation.

      @@kimwestwood8840 Do you believe you are already saved? Then why hold fast, stand firm, run the race, fight the fight, don't fall away, don't stumble, work out, continue, etc? Because salvation is not an event in your past, it is a journey you are on and a relationship to be fostered. The Bible describes salvation in 3 tenses: you are saved, you are being saved, and you will be saved. In that regard, none of us are more than 50% saved: we've completed step 1 and are half-way through step 2. You need to continue in belief and not fall from grace through unbelief... which is exactly what the Bible says.

      The word of God is clear, people that do these things listed will not inherit the kingdom of God period, you do not get to change it, or interpret it away or explain it away.
      A Baptist preacher with a well known ministry told a woman who wrote him about her son, that if he had been saved he would still go to Heaven even thought he was living in horrible sin.
      The SBC is in terrible shape, 400 of their ministers/leaders went through the court system and were sentenced for what they did to children. the repor was called "Abuse of Faith"

      It was not until the very end of Jesus' earthly ministry that satan entered into Judas and not before or Judas would not have been able to go with the other 11 as Jesus had sent the 12.
      The key verse is Acts 1:25 Judas by way of transgression FELL, you cant fall away if you do not have anything to fall from, in the beginning, Judas was clean and why the Holy Ghost could empower him to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead and cast out devils.
      it was not until the last supper that satan put it into Judas heart to betray Jesus, and then only after the sop given by Jesus to Judas at the last supper, when satan entered into Judas.
      There are so many scriptures against osas its not funny, what is even more funny, (funny strange) is how they will back peddle and dance around various scriptures that pose major problems for their doctrine, I have come to hate how denominations will do whatever bible flipflops back peddling, interpretations, explanations, and the like to save their doctrines from the scriptures rather than to simply acknowledge that their doctrine is wrong.
      I left the Baptist denomination because of osas, it was my deal breaker, and where I am now i have problems with what is practiced vs what thus saith the word of God.

      Yes. He preached one must repent of their sins first to be saved. He also was the father of ecumenism for the Vatican and World Council of Churches (I think that one) and he convinced and took 3000 evangelical pastors to Rome to sign agreements that Roman Catholicism is biblical Christianity. He believed all men of good will, no matter what god they worshiped, will be saved by Jesus. At his public meeting altar calls, he connected people to the church denomination they said they were raised in or last attended. If a Jew said they were just saved, they were taken to a waiting Rabbi, if they were Roman Catholic, they were taken to a waiting priest. He was contracted by local churches ( they paid the money for him to preach his meetings), he wasn't an independent preacher seeking the lost, he was a hireling. People were saved from his biblical quotations, because the Word saves, not Billy. He was a good orator and charismatic personality.

    I never knew what Calvinism was, but I understood from the Bible that predestination has to be true, otherwise God is not omniscient.
    But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. Luke 12:7
    I have always said that faith is most like intuition or instinct. And faith is the gift of God. It is a knowing that is given to us by God, a knowing that we cannot otherwise explain. We just know because God caused us to know. When people do not come to God, I understand it is because God is not calling them.
    John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
    John 6:65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

    It really is all about God!

    The thing about predestination is that God is the only one who knows how it turns out. We are not privy to it. Therefore, we have to live our lives one moment at a time constantly making choices that we have no idea we will be faced with, until we are faced with them. We also have no idea what choices we will make, until we make them. However, God already knows.
    God knew exactly what would happen in the garden of Eden. That is why He put the tree of the knowledge of good and evil there. He did not have to let the serpent in Eden. It was in the plan of salvation from the beginning. Adam's sin was not a failure of God. It was His plan. That is why Revelation says that the Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world. It was already in the plan. It is all about us coming back to God in repentance and falling on His mercy; and who will and who will not.
    We are ordained to salvation, even before we believe.
    Acts 13:48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

      God is omniscient. Why do you think that means God determined who will be saved and who will not be saved? Don't you know that God is all-powerful as well as omniscient which means He gets to choose how man can come about being saved and God did just that. When the Bible says God ordained things and brought things to pass we can trust that is true and believe it, but when the Bible also tells us that regarding salvation by grace through faith, that is a choice we must make to believe and be saved, we should also trust that is true as well.
      When the Bible says that it is God's will that we all are saved we should trust that and believe God wants everyone to be saved. The fact that people rebel against God and refuse to do His will and remain unbelievers is evidence that God is NOT determining all things and His will is not being done by everyone. If determinism were true and God always gets what He wants then nobody would be lost but everyone would be saved. God's will is not forced upon anyone. That is why people sin to begin with. They are free to do so and influenced and tempted by Satan and the weakness of our flesh. When the Bible says God does not tempt anyone with sin we should trust that and not be charging God with determining us to sin.
      The problem with Calvinism is that it is a very deceptive lie of Satan that gets people to not trust the Word of God but instead trust in the writings of man, in confessionals, Bible studies and commentaries and in this case reformed systematic theology books and teachers. Allowing oneself to be subject to such influences makes a person get indoctrinated and then when they read the Bible it is through the lens of that system the already accepted as true, and then seeing that system everywhere in Scripture, but it really isn't there at all. You presented lots of Calvinist prooftexts. They are great Bible verses and they are true, but they do not support Calvinism. You are seeing Calvinism in them because you have presuppositions you learned that you want the Bible to say, rather than letting the Bible teach you what it actually says.

It's funny because you have the Calvinists say God decreed whatsoever will come to pass. Jeremiah 19:5 says otherwise. Also the verse you quoted from 1 Tim. 2, I've heard Calvinists say that this isn't talking about everyone but rather just "all kinds" of people. Looking at the greek I can see how they could possibly come up with that interpretation but when you look at it in context Paul is clearly talking about everyone.

Experts of the original Greek language like Strong and Thayer give bible references next to the various possible meanings of the word 'kosmos' or 'world' in their definition, put John 3:16 as the one of the examples of when the word 'kosmos' is used is actually referring to BELIEVERS ONLY.       Why can't I refute that? I'm quite certain I refuted that in this video and in many others. Kosmos means God's Creation and in particular its human inhabitants of His Creation. God did not so love the stars and the moon and the sun and clouds and lions and tigers and bears oh my, that He gave His only begotten son to save those things. And to suggest Kosmos just refers to only believers in the world is just utter nonsense and contradicts lots of Bible verses. I've shared some of them with you but you consistently ignore the truth and keep coming back with more comments trying to defend Calvinism. Give it up already.

      Believing is not something a person "performs." That would suggest that faith is a work and nobody is saved by works. Romans 3: 26-28 specifically says faith (or believing) is excluded from work. So, the Calvinist would like to ignore that reality and call faith a work unless it is given by God as a gift. They misinterpret Ephesians 2: 8,9 for that reason, making the gift of God grace and faith, rather than what it says which is the gift of God is grace (salvation) through faith and not of works. "Total Depravity" is also NOT true but simply a man-made idea straight out of Gnosticism. it is not Biblical but the concept was introduced into Christianity by Augustine and had not been affirmed by any early Church Father before him. The Bible tells us clearly that an unbeliever has the ability to become a believer simply by hearing the Gospel. Faith comes by hearing (Romans 10: 17). The Bible tells us in John 3: 19 why people reject the truth (light) and prefer the darkness, and it is because they choose to love their sin more, not because God caused or decreed them to stay in darkness.

There is NONE that seek God so, you cannot claim man is looking for Him or, even interested in "hearing" Him. This plainly speaks to both desire and ability. The spiritually dead man has neither. That's what it means to be dead. Separated from the source of life, wisdom and truth (God). Finally, Jer. 19:9 says, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Explain how a person with that heart condition has any desire or ability to believe, choose, etc... the Holy and that which, by nature, is dead to AND hates?!

It is the RESULT of it!
      No clearer proof of this exists than found in John 1:12-13 (which all Arminians conveniently leave off v. 13), "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
      Who willed a person to be born-again? Also, receiving is a totally PASSIVE activity. Man does not actively choose to believe, exercise faith or "make a decision for Christ". These all are works. Regeneration is an action of God whereby He brings to life a dead soul and regenerates that soul. The dead soul only passively receives this action. It is the new birth.

      Scott, read John 3: 19. That is why people choose darkness over the light. They love their sins. I chose to believe on Jesus and despise my sins, loving Him for taking my sins away upon the cross. It is not about how smart a person is, but in fact, it is the Calvinist who actually thinks they are smarter than their unbelieving neighbor. They arrogantly hold to a false doctrine that teaches God predestined them (the elect) to be given the ability (intelligence) to believe and receive spiritual truths such as the Gospel of Christ, while God predestined all others to be withheld from that ability (intelligence). So, it is the Calvinist who believes and teaches they are smarter than their unbelieving neighbor. Yet, if they were really smart they would ditch Calvinism.

      I hate to break it to you, but it appears you do not understand the passages if you think they teach Calvinism. Especially Romans 9 passage which is a favorite prooftext of Calvinists who don't know that there are more chapters after 9. Keep reading! Romans 11 explains whom God has mercy upon now. Here is the passage that explains the follow up from what Paul wrote about mercy in chapter 9. Romans 11, "30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: 31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. 32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have *mercy upon all.*

      Nope, in John 10 Jesus uses the metaphor of sheep regarding all people. He says you are not of "my sheep" solely on the basis they do not believe in Him. He says that believers are His sheep but Jesus also says there are sheep of another fold that will become believers and they will join His sheep and become part of one fold of sheep (The Church, Body of Christ) and He will be their Shepherd. To suggest John 10 supports Calvinism is ridiculous.

      Verse 25 Jesus told them and they didn't believe. That is why they are not of His sheep. They believed not, because they are not of His sheep. So, those that believe are because they are of His sheep. That does not affirm Calvinism in the slightest but that believing in Jesus is the key differentiator, consistent with John 3: 16 and many other verses.

      Sorry, but that just isn't true at all. Modern day Calvinists hold conference after conference and the focus is on defending TULIP, not the Gospel. TULIP results in a false gospel of being saved by unconditional election and nothing else. The true Gospel of Christ is a secondary byproduct of being chosen by God for salvation while believing God has passed over others and withheld from them saving grace.

Does it diminish the fact that He died and rose again according to the scriptures and that our sins and the sins of all who believe are forgiven through His life, death and resurrection?
      I'm not a strict Calvinist and I don't get involved in the philosophy, but I think the great thing about it is the emphasis on original sin.
      It's not preached too often nowadays.

      If you read the whole chapter, you will see that that verse is in reference to the proselytes, Gentile believers who had converted to Judaism. Unlike the lost religious leaders and Pharisees that rejected Christ the Proselytes were actual old testament saints, who now hearing the true Gospel of Christ became New Testament believers because the truth resonated with them being that they were already saved, already ordained to eternal life.

      Their interpretation of John 3: 16 is what I am referring to in regards to Unconditional Election which leads them to not see John 3: 16 as it is written, a promise of eternal life to all who will believe, but rather claim that all those who believe do so only because they were decreed to do so by God choosing them for salvation before time began. Another way to have said it would be that they interpret John 3: 16 to mean "whosoever is elect shall not perish..."
      However, if you want to talk about biased Bible versions that have faulty translations that were changed to give Calvinism greater credibility, that is a great topic and perhaps I will do a video on that in the future showcasing the examples. I have already discussed that before a time or two. The ESV, NASB and now the LSB are highly biased towards Calvinism and a works based gospel.

      Try using the Berean Standard Bible (BSB). It is unbiased! The ESV was made by Crossway which is a Calvinistic/Reformed organization. I actually use the Berean Literal Bible (BLB) whenever I study the New Testament (because it is literal!), though it is not in print yet.

      Huh? Are you saying the Apostle John didn't know about the cross? Maybe I misunderstood what you are saying here, but Apostle John wrote the Gospel of John, his 3 epistles and Revelation as the last books of the New Testament written. All of the NT books were written well after the cross during the early church. John most certainly knew all about Christ's death, burial, resurrection, and accession as he was a witness to all that.

Matthew Mark Luke and John did not preach salvation through Christ's atoning death on the cross for our sins, his burial and resurrection on the 3rd day because they didn't know about it. MMLJ were believing Christ's Kingdom was coming; they were to repent, be baptized, keep the law; when Jesus said behold we go up to Jerusalem ...he shall be delivered unto the gentiles, and be mocked...and they shall scourge him and put him to death, and on the third day he shall rise again" Luke 18:31- 33. But more important, Matt 16:21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew his disciples how that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders...and be killed, and be raised on the third day. And Peter began to rebuke him saying, Be it far from thee Lord, this shall not be unto thee! But he turned and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me Satan. Matt: 16: 21-23.They did not know about the cross, Christ's atonement for our sins on the cross. John 3:16- that whosoever believeth in him shall be saved. No cross no atonement. Because the plan of salvation by his atoning death was hid from them Luke 18-34. It was hid from before the world, until it was revealed to Paul by the risen Lord. That was the mystery Paul speaks of.

      @@faithonfireministries Contined from my last post, a couple things to clarify: During Jesus' ministry on earth, jews were indeed saved by believing the gospel that he, Jesus, and the apostles preached. Those believing jews are referred to as the flock, or the little flock, as you see mentioned frequently. This sheep/ shepherd theme can be illustrated in Matthew 10:5:6- Jesus said Go not into the way of the Gentiles...but go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. Jesus was gathering his flock together, for his Kingdom. John 21:15-17 Jesus says to Peter feed my lambs, and feed my sheep.
      The apostles believed that the Messiah's kingdom was coming, at that very time; John the Baptist preached repent, be baptised for the kingdom of heaven is at hand; Jesus said ( Matt 10:7 ) And as ye go, preach, saying, the kingdom of heaven is at hand: Jesus taught the apostles to pray " thy kingdom come;" they were so sure that the Kingdom was at hand that they were selling their possessions, and giving the proceeds to the apostles to distribute to the poor. See the story of Ananais and Sapphira in Acts 5 - where they sold property and kept some of the money. In 5:3 Peter says " Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?"
      The apostles were stunned, and confused, and did not understand when Jesus began to talk about going to Jerusalem where he will be put to death. See Acts 1:6 the apostles were gathered together and they asked of him, Jesus, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? They did not understand because Jesus kept this understanding HID from them Luke 18:34.
      Why would Jesus HIDE the MEANING of THESE THINGS WHICH WERE SPOKEN? Well, not only was the MEANING behind the crucifixion hidden from the apostles, it was hidden from the prophets ( although the death of the Messiah on a cross was prophesied, the MEANING behind it was hidden), from the angels, AND FROM SATAN. The mystery that God ordained before the world ( 2 Cor: 7 )which Jesus revealed to the Apostle Paul, the MYSTERY of God's offer of Salvation to the Whole World through his son's ATONING death for our sins, and the gospel of grace ( 1 Cor 15: 1-4) was kept hid for this reason: 1 Cor 2: 8... FOR IF THEY ( satan and the " princes of this world " ) HAD KNOWN IT, THEY WOULD NOT HAVE CRUCIFIED THE LORD OF GLORY.

      Yes, they did know it. All 4 Gospels were written after the account of Acts 15. The 3 Gospels are synoptic Gospels giving the account of the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ, including eye witnesses to His death, burial and resurrection. However they are writing about the events of that time which of course came before the meeting in Acts 15 occurred, but Matthew, Mark and Luke all wrote them after the events of Acts 15 with Paul and the other apostles. The Gospel of Luke was the last one of the four to be written and is the evangelistic Gospel focused on the deity of Christ and the Gospel of grace, believing by faith in Christ.
      Also, justification by faith is a firm concept in the Bible, going all the way back to Genesis 15 in which it is written that Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness.

    Expect more demons soon to pervert Christianity, and Calvinism is not the cause, but was used only as an excuse. The church is conglomerated with different contradicting doctrines of leaven as prophesied by the Lord Himself. Matt. 13:33. It cannot be denied that Calvinism is one of the roads tracing the continuity of the church. The problem is the spirit of condemnation among Calvinists, non Calvinists, and others as hell bound despite of their faith in Jesus Christ. One cannot put God in a small box of so-called absolute truth.

    In him means in him. The reason the words to be is not added is that God is showing that the believer was in Christ from eternity past. We were always there . Calvinists do not add “to be” since it says exactly what is true and what we believe that we were in him before the foundation of the earth. To be adds an element of time which is not correct but Armenians believe that they make a decision to be in Christ

      Sorry, but you are mistaken and Ephesians 2 makes that perfectly clear. I'll quote it in a moment, but first I hope you realize that being "in Christ" is what born again people are. If that happened in eternity past then when exactly do you think they lost that status as sinners and had to get "in Christ" again? That makes no sense. Calvinism is debunked because it all hinges on the Total Depravity doctrine, the T in TULIP, and if the elect were already "in Christ" before they were born, then they were never in a state of Total Depravity, but Calvinism says everybody is in that state and only the elect come out of that state of spiritual deadness when they receive Irresistible Grace, the I in TULIP.
      All of the doctrines of Calvinism are wrong anyway. Here is Ephesians 2 that proves EVERYONE was "without Christ" before they come to faith in Christ and then become "in Christ." "11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time *ye were without Christ* , being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 *But now in Christ Jesus* ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

In Christ mind we were saved before time in eternity past . Ie in the spirit . He knew all would fall and that he would save His elect as. Evidence I the flesh. He also said most would not believe .

      You didn't answer me about Ephesians 2: 11-13. You only deflected to Jeremiah. But my video was about Ephesians 1 and you questioned when a person is "in Christ" from Ephesians 1 and said that occurs in eternity past. But Ephesians 2 says otherwise. Why don't you agree with Ephesians 2: 11-13?

      Okay, but I still believe Ephesians 1 speaks of *what* is predestined in eternity past to be granted to believers rather than *who* is predestined to become believers. If the latter is true, then the Gospel is certainly not good news to most people. That can't be true because of many Bible verses to the contrary, but how about this one example in Luke 2: 10 in which the angels announced to the Shepherds the birth of Jesus Christ, "And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people." It says "which shall be to all people." If Calvinism is true then Jesus being born was to "elect" people only. But it is true that Calvinists love to say that when the Bible says all or all men, all people, the world, or even whole world, every man, etc. God really didn't mean that, but only meant the elect.

    I believe almost everything you said, except for once saved always saved, I disagre, the bible does not teach that, you see almost every teacher of the bible, if not careful, is prone to misinterpretation of certain scriptures in the bible, and like the calvinist, almost all bible teachers have their share of misinterpreting certain scriptures, some a lot, some not so much, I believe when certain people begin to aquire a little scriptural knowledge, they tend to fall into they know it all, adding their own human opinions into scripture to justify their interpretation of scripture, very dangerous, especially for those who hear it and run with it as biblical truth, so many Christians today are so spiritually ignorant ,gullible and prone for deception, my advice, pray and ask God for spiritual discernment and wisdom, study to show yourself approved, know God's word to avoid being led astray, allow the Holy Spirit to teach you in your pursuit in studying God's Word, MORIAL = God Teaches, or God is our Teacher.❤

      I am grateful we agree with a lot. But the OSAS issue is actually much more important than a lot of people realize because it speaks to the very credibility of the words of Jesus Christ in Scripture. Please consider for a moment that you could be confusing salvation with sanctification. Many Christians and Pastors do. Some do it willfully because they are literally preaching a false works salvation model and they are false teachers that are trying to bring people under the Law of God rather than being under grace where true salvation is. Paul wrote it is either one or the other, but not both.
      Anyone trying to be saved by keeping the Law is actually not saved because the Law only serves to show us that we need grace and to trust in Christ alone and His work, not our own works, because we are all guilty under the Law. If we try to do work to fulfill the Law righteously, then we will fail. Only one ever did that perfectly which was Jesus Christ. John 1: 17, "For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ."
      Christians are called to be disciples and with the help of the Holy Spirit be sanctified, but there are many Bible passages that treat initial salvation and how we are kept eternally saved as being a totally separate matter from sanctification or as some would call it, spiritual maturity. It is undeniable that we are saved by Christ alone and kept saved by Christ alone. If His Word says that, which it does, especially in John 10, and He does not do it, then that would make Jesus a liar who does not fulfill His Word in us. Nope, He most certainly does tell us the truth and fulfills it without our help.
      Unfortunately, if a person does not believe in OSAS, then they must believe they get saved and then work to keep earning salvation which is taking the credit and glory away from the finished redemptive work of Christ and placing it back upon themselves, saved by their own good deeds. I'm all for doing good deeds, especially in the form of the work of ministry to help others know Jesus and be saved and to edify one another in the Body of Christ, but we have crossed a line into error if we think these works and self-discipline are actually what keeps us saved. That is adding to the Gospel of Christ.
      Romans 4: 5, "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." Paul wrote this another way as well in Galatians 2: 16, "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified."

      I believe you misunderstood what I said about osas. I do understand what salvation is, repentance and putting our faith in Christ and His finish work on the cross for our salvation, it's all by faith, there's absolutely nothing we can add to His work to improve our salvation, yes we do good works, but not to win points with God. Then begins the sanctifying work in our lives by the Holy Spirit, now because of our imperfections and weaknesses of our flesh, we will willfully or unintentionally sin, make mistakes, grow spiritually lukewarm or cold, and sometimes some will eventually fall away, but amazingly the Holy Spirit continues to convict us to draw us back to God to spiritually grow and mature, but it's also a fact that sadly some don't return, their heart's get hard and cold, they go back into the world and become worse than they were before, the bible talks about that, but some will say that they were never born again to begin with, I don't know about that, God only knows, the bible also says in the last days even the very elect could be deceived and possibly fall away, I believe some will, but how could they, they were securely saved, Jesus said it 2 or 3 time do not be deceived in those days, why would he say that?, but we already know many have already been deceived today and led astray, I'm talking about born again Christians, this is what I was referring to on osas, we might truly be born again, but, we can fall away and miss heaven, most will go back like a dog goes back to his vomit, it is possible for a Christian to fall away and go back into the world, in other words, yes they were saved, but they squandered their salvation away by going back to a sinful lifestyle, but weren't they securedly saved 🤔?. The one problem with osas, some Christians, especially young new born again Christians will take that as a license to sin, not all, but some, I asked a Christian friend once, if you're having sexual relations with a women and the rapture occurs, will you be ruptured, to my amazement he said yes, but wait a minute, doesn't the bible say that nothing can separate us from the (love) of God which is in Christ Jesus, and that Jesus will never abandon us, but wait a minute, the bible also says to the Christian church, for to be carnally minded is death, meaning living according to the flesh is death, it's referring to Christians, not unbelievers, Paul is speaking to the church. My point here brother, yes we are spiritually saved, but we can squander that blessing away if we go back into the world and live a sinful lifestyle again,but if we live by the Spirit, we will have life and peace, brother your osas teaching is flawed, but I'm pretty sure you're going to stick with it, and it will profit nothing on this endless debate going back and forth on this issue, what's more critically important is the salvation of soul's that need Jesus. ❤

      It does not say individuals were chosen for salvation before the foundation of the world. You are adding that Calvinistic presupposition to the text. It is clear that Christians (those who are in Christ) were chosen to be holy and without blame before God. That is consistent with the rest of Scripture regarding salvation. Your Calvinistic view is not consistent with any Scripture.

    Great video Brian. Of all the erroneous teachings within Christendom:
    Oneness/Anti-trinitarians.
    Besides accepting Jesus you must keep the Sabbath & eat Kosher/SDA
    The Pope speaks Excathedra & Mary answers prayer.
    Speaking in tongues is THE evidence of one's salvation.
    Baptismal-Regeneration.
    They all still teach everyone CAN be saved.
    Only Calvinism teaches: All can't & won't be saved by God's decree.
    I always like 👍 your videos & recommend'm to others. I'm still with Michael Heiser & others, that we volitionally/freely choose Jesus & therefore CAN freely renounce Him/Divorce/no longer want Him (not loose our salvation from sinning or poor performance). Too many scriptures to ignore regarding walking away willfully, IMO. I don't see any passage that says you lock yourself in no matter how much you want out later. Nonetheless, you're using your talents with these videos ☝️

      There is no gospel without OSAS.
      Anyone who thinks that they can lose their salvation is by default trusting in their works.

God hates divorce, yet we Christians divorce. Maybe the Lord will show me otherwise. I'm in my 60s, have been in ministry since the late 1980s. Sadly I've seen solid fruit bearing saints (decades of fruit) fall away willfully

      These people were bragging about their many wonderful works.
      Mathew 7:21-23 actually describes the fate of the faith plus works equals salvation crowd.
      They were called workers of iniquity because they were not clothed in the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
      They, much like yourself, believed that Jesus is necessary but not sufficient.
