Thank you for taking this emotional rollercoaster. My recap: You can travel freely in a Europe w/o borders but the pain of the loss of loved ones travels with you. Follow your dreams and make the ones you love proud. Carry the memories with you but also their lessons. Joost is no joke he is a survivor right through the pain to party on the eurovision stage.

Also about the traveling aspect, I like that he included that you don't need a visa. I can just.. enter another country without being stopped. Borders are imaginary, is what his father always told him, and he did it.. Even the border of entering eurovision he crossed, so this is a big thanks to his parents too (that sadly died when he was super young)
On the topic of travel, I went to Switserland recently, a non-EU country, walked across the border to France, then to Germany and back to Switserland in about 6 hours without any border stops. You can just do.. whatever, the amount of freedom that is is insane, and this freedom (the Schengen zone it's called) is one of the most important and significant achievements in politics & cooperation ever.

This is a masterpiece. Euro papa= Euro dad, because papa is dad in Dutch. A sad song with lyrics with a meaning, with a message, in a happy hardcore melody. A letter to his father who died when he was a 12 year old child. His mother past away a year later. He promised his father that he will be someday on the Eurovision Songcontest stage. His father told him that it is possible because there are no borders between the countries, and no limits to follow his dream. Borders and limitations are made by human. In every country he went, he felt the pain and grief of no having his parents. The fire symbolise letting go of the grief and pain, and the start of a new chapter in his live.

i really liked your reaction. I watched way to much reactions but you are the first one trying to think what joost meant with the lyrics. Yes it´s a happy melody but the lyrics are kinda deep.

As happy as this song sounds, it's a sad song. Actually, he describes his life in a few minutes; In the first verse, he talks about losing everything. An important part is the death of his parents when he was 12/13 years old. In the second verse, he talks about how alone and lonely he is. He also says that he needed help because of depression and homelessness and apparently did not get enough help. I don't understand the reference to stromai (bad in french). The leonardi da vinci (The Last Supper) scene may refer to one of his songs in which he sings that he is god. The Black Guy with 12 Point is a RUclipsr who made clips about bulling. Joost has been bullied, and look at him now. If I remember correctly, his father once told him that he should keep writing poetry. The house with the mill is the place in which he grew up (with all the shit) and possibly burning it down (like you can do in therapy), taking a new step into a new world without borders in which he can do whatever he wants.
Papaoutai (Stromae) in french means; “dad,where are you”? Which reference to the loss of his father.

It's "Boast" but with a J, and without a B. The J is pronounced like the Y in "Young". "Klein" sounds a bit like "fine". happy hardcore is the genre, it's the best
