Nick Nick Nick!!!!!!!!!!! You just have thrilled me!!!!!!!! Look much better now with your signature mustache and you seem very healthy now. It is really good to see you again with playing Megadeth. So miss you!
Megadeth's best drummer by far. I met him in Birmingham UK on the Rust In Peace tour at a record signing, when I asked him if he was performing a solo at the gig, his response was "Every songs a solo man!"
He looks healthy again in this vid! Nick.......you are one of my favorite metal drummers. One of my biggest regrets was not being able to see you live with Megadeth. Best wishes from a huge admirer!
I must say one of my main drumming influences growing up was Nick Menza, Love his playing style and ferocity behind the kit! BRING MENZA BACK MEGADETH!!!!
my favorite take on this song was in the rude awakening DVD. Though that was Degrasso, I still absolutely love watching Nick do it, especially now! Interesting choice with the powerstrokes on the floors.
Nick is the only drummer I think of when I think of Megadeth. He is on of the four (Dave, Marty, David) that will ALWAYS be Megadeth Nick screwed up, nobody is perfect
he's looking good and is as tight as the old days...I hope nobody took my comment as a slam vs. Nick.. I love the guy I think he's the crucial part that Megadeth has been missing for over 10 years.
Definitely, both James Lomenzo shawn or have done a super job, but in the end the feeling that the band is not what it was not their fault, it's work. Re confident that Nick should never have to because they have left and to the closure of Megadeth's career we have the pleasure of seeing the best Megadeth history. With those who made the best albums and concerts. Nick back please!
dude, I noticed that Nick's video playing holy wars was removed by EMI due to copyrights but none of the other holy wars covers by other drummers were removed.
If you got Nick Nenza for a drum demo again, please put him in front of a greg voelker inverted rack system with double drums, and ask him to play hangar 18, see what happens...l
Well your close. Dave Mustaine - lead vocals, guitar David Ellefson - bass guitar, backing vocals Chris Poland - Lead Guitar Gar Samuelson - Drums and cigarette burns.
Glad to see another megadeth fan that has heard RIP before.... I suggest you listen and really actually appreciate the first two records before you can REALLY understand megadeth's career as a whole, not just one moment. RIP is a great line up but I bet even Menza would bow his head towards Gary Samuelson.
i have the full discography 1985/2013, yes the three first albums of megadeth are great i like a lot of this albuns ,really, but megadeth go to another level in RIP , i saw megadeth live with nick and marty, man, that show make me see metallica like a garage band , it´s not only about trash metal, is about another level of trash metal, RIP for me is the best trash metal album of all times, and nothing can change this, and nick and Marty were part of that, no one can change that too
I wonder when nick had to learn Gar Samuelsons drum track if he was like "how the fuck do I do this" or I wonder if he was impressed with that Gar could do.
ok change true megadeth to : tornado of souls formation holy "Holy Wars... The Punishment Due" formation "Hangar 18" formation Take No Prisoners" formation "Five Magics" formation "Poison Was the Cure" formation "Lucretia" formation "Dawn Patrol" formation "Rust in Peace... Polaris" formation the best albuns of megadeth formation BEFORE AND AFTER Nick Menza - drums, backing vocals Marty Friedman - guitar megadeth is the shadows of your glorious days
I love how the band Megadeth playing inspiring music, as Dave has been a big influence on the world of metal, however the band owning given the chance to look at the mistakes of others and less of the, I think it made a lot and I think the band would be even better if it were not for the crazy life he had. I think Dave should look and learn humbly noted the same. Nick is part of Megadeth, just enough current on a video playing the music of the band and us out old emotions.
THE TRUE MEGADETH ARE Dave Mustaine - lead vocals, guitar David Ellefson - bass guitar, backing vocals Nick Menza - drums, backing vocals Marty Friedman - guitar
Considering this is going to be used to promote Soultone Cymbals, I can see why the cymbals are so high in the mix but they completely dominated the double bass part. It was a bit overpowering, you could barely hear the music in that section. Other than that this was awesome
Nick would bring back in a second wind for Megadeth. I love Shawn, don't get me wrong at all, but Nick was there for the big albums and his playing and Daves songwriting compliment each other unlike any other drummer Megadeth has had. I would never hold out hope for Marty...and I think Chris more than fills his shoes (and besides, unlike Nick, Marty doesn't really "like" the metal anymore). So, yeah, if Dave made the decision to wind down Megadeth's career with Nick back behind the kit I'd say that would be a best case scenario to hope for.
"Unlike any other drummer had" I disagree, you basically hear the guitar when listening to Gar only. His drum patterns and fills really fit with Dave's riffs, they were like one mind. Besides, it was his idea to shorten Peace Sells to turn it into what we now know, so you got to credit his songwriting too. Nick is good, though
While I am no drummer, I like to THINK that I have a more sensitive ear than yer average Joe (I was a sound-man for 15 years -take it for what its worth) how close is this to what is actually on the album? Peace Sells didn't have the best production, and I'm curious to know what real drummers think...?
I saw Megadeth in Detroit this Nov and it was horrible there was no FIRE the set list sucked they just run through the motions I wish Dave would come to his senses and get Nick and Marty back.... Nick your playing tight and looking good Megadeth needs a lead drummer again :)
Nick is good, But it was Gar that is on this lp. (peace sells) Never seen any actual footage of Gar just playing Drums im not sure any ever Recorded. the newer Guys are good musicians yeah But they haven't recorded anything Really great since cryptic writings.
i kinda disagree I thought the system has failed was a great album but i don't think Megadeth will ever reach the peak they did late 80,s early 90,s Still one of my favourite bands of all time :-)
I really miss Menza's style in Megadeth. He was really tight but he also had groove and played outside the box. Drover is competent, but he is sterile as hell. Megadeth's currently bland songs could probably be brought back to life with some Menza drumming.
Nick Menza's drumming always made Megadeth's music come alive. Shawn Drover can keep time, sure, but he's basically lifeless in terms of showmanship and musicianship, and it drains the energy out of Megadeth's live performance. Seriously, have you listened to Shawn Drover butcher the drum intro to Rust in Peace?
nicks drumming has always been brilliant..is it just the recording but that ride cymbal sounds terrible that Bell is horribly annoying like a trash can lid I'm hoping it's just a recording
I know this is a Nick Menza video, but I can't help but mention Shawn Drover here. Shawn Drover is an awful addition to Megadeth and he can't play the vintage parts that Menza and DeGrasso could. He's either unable to, or he's lazy and doesn't want to. This video does nothing but make me sad and dissapointed that Nick isn't with the band,
Mike Hawk In my opinion , He,s missing the passion and powerful but the the beat , Sometime he play drum like a robot . But you know , in this stage , Dave are getting old , what they want is a stable drummer but not a rage drummer who are full of power , Dave said that Nick always lost control of the speed when it is performing before . I haven,t say Shawn isn,t good , but for me , Nick is more better , He,s a lion !
So you don't like his performance. He is very good, very consistent. He did a great job in every album he participated. I really don't care about what he looks like so... Ok.
I'm not saying he cant play. I'm saying he isnt a good fit for Megadeth. His playing is uninspired and boring. And he doesn't play the parts the way they are recorded - which isn't really all that bad if you spice it up live. Instead, he dumbs it down. And he only knows one drum fill.
Nick = Pure energy, Megadeth needs you man!
He is a legend from Megadeth... the best drummer.
He looks healthy again in this vid! Nick.......you are one of my favorite metal drummers. One of my biggest regrets was not being able to see you live with Megadeth. Best wishes from a huge admirer!
BRAVO NICK...!!!!!!!!!!
I must say one of my main drumming influences growing up was Nick Menza, Love his playing style and ferocity behind the kit! BRING MENZA BACK MEGADETH!!!!
I'll buy a megadeth ticket again, when menza is back on the drums.
My thoughts exactly. I never missed a show until he was gone.
my favorite take on this song was in the rude awakening DVD. Though that was Degrasso, I still absolutely love watching Nick do it, especially now! Interesting choice with the powerstrokes on the floors.
I loved a lot of Jimmy's takes on the classics. Shame no one really gives him much credit for it due to the way he left the band.
Nick is the only drummer I have ever seen who can hit the cymbals and make them swing forever.
as you can see the dude is in great shape and ready to take the metal world by storm.
The best megadeth Drummer
Best Megadeth drummer EVER! Perfect feel
Nick is the only drummer I think of when I think of Megadeth. He is on of the four (Dave, Marty, David) that will ALWAYS be Megadeth
Nick screwed up, nobody is perfect
Hey nick I went on Megadeth show In Rio de Janeiro with Sabbath I miss you and Marty there.
exelente Nick..............
Nick was easily Megadeth's best drummer. Gar was great, but Nick had so much more power.
Like a machine. Amazing
+G. Reis Nick Menza (this video) is still alive, but the drummer who originally played this song on Peace Sells, Gar Samuelson, is dead.
nick is such a boss
What a fuckin drummer. Can only listen to Megadeth with Menza on the sticks.
he's looking good and is as tight as the old days...I hope nobody took my comment as a slam vs. Nick.. I love the guy I think he's the crucial part that Megadeth has been missing for over 10 years.

Nick back please!
much much better than drover, just because of the sheer feeling he puts into it. come back nick!
this is a true tribute to Gar from Nick!
God's tribute to a God :)
Neonym Yes!! ;)
dude, I noticed that Nick's video playing holy wars was removed by EMI due to copyrights but none of the other holy wars covers by other drummers were removed.
If you got Nick Nenza for a drum demo again, please put him in front of a greg voelker inverted rack system with double drums, and ask him to play hangar 18, see what happens...l
this sounds amazing!
I thought a few times his fist were going to punch through the heads lol . Nick Menza !!!!
GREAT!
Menza is the man
excellent!!
Well your close.
Dave Mustaine - lead vocals, guitar
David Ellefson - bass guitar, backing vocals
Chris Poland - Lead Guitar
Gar Samuelson - Drums and cigarette burns.
still air-tight! love it! This video should be titled Wake Up Dave.
dat snare drum ring ^^
Those cymbals are killer and that snare bites ur head off.
Nick, you need to get out there and fuckin TOUR again!
he should be brought back to megadeth now.. sober, humble.. playing like a f**kin machine
The best drummer ever !
Nick Rules.

puzzles me to this day why he is not back in Megadeth
I wonder when nick had to learn Gar Samuelsons drum track if he was like "how the fuck do I do this" or I wonder if he was impressed with that Gar could do.

shawn should have seen this, so that he may learn how to play the exact megadeth songs.
Nevermind I think I hear it all
back a megadeth nick!!!!
The thing I noticed is there's no rhythm guitar or bass guitar in the audio
THE TRUE MEGADETH ARE
Dave Mustaine - lead vocals, guitar
David Ellefson - bass guitar, backing vocals
Nick Menza - drums, backing vocals
Marty Friedman - guitar
2:15 - 3 Toms Mic -uaaa ;)
I would love to meet up with you and jam some songs around
COME BACK MENZA
00:15 ... Look at that microphone. It's me or it's a wrong direction to put it?
What kind of sticks are those
Because the drumming in the whole Peace Sells album is unique to any other Megadeth record... That's my guess. And i think Nick likes the song too.
Pound those skins, fuckin awesome!
Nick back to megadeth plis
I was hoping he would have done what gar have done at 2.40
Is it me or one guitar is muted?
Considering this is going to be used to promote Soultone Cymbals, I can see why the cymbals are so high in the mix but they completely dominated the double bass part. It was a bit overpowering, you could barely hear the music in that section. Other than that this was awesome
Just in the beginning I think
still alive?
Nick Menza, come to Slipknot!
Nick would bring back in a second wind for Megadeth. Still Hot as ever ! Hope you are doing well !

Lars here is your replacement.

2:38 you can easily bungee jump without rope.
he had his chance around 2003...he was drugged out at the time...i think
To all of the "Come back Nick" people. It's not up to Nick as to whether or not he is the drummer for Megadeth.
I saw Megadeth in Detroit this Nov and it was horrible there was no FIRE the set list sucked they just run through the motions I wish Dave would come to his senses and get Nick and Marty back.... Nick your playing tight and looking good Megadeth needs a lead drummer again :)
the bass can be improved giving more notes
Nick is good, But it was Gar that is on this lp. (peace sells)

Well its all Megadave now
Liam Penman
gar wasn't that great. sorry. good? yes. Nick's level??? Not in a zillion years.
jason l U don't know what you are talking about. Gar was better.
***** preach, brother.
I really miss Menza's style in Megadeth. He was really tight but he also had groove and played outside the box. Drover is competent, but he is sterile as hell. Megadeth's currently bland songs could probably be brought back to life with some Menza drumming.

Waaaaaay better then Shawn Drover. Gar & Nick will always be Megadeth's best drummers.
Let Menza replace Lars Ulrich!
Nick should play jazz...he has everithing to do it...p.s. this track is too easy for nick...
He does not have the energy he had in the 90es, well of cource he became older...
nicks drumming has always been brilliant..is it just the recording but that ride cymbal sounds terrible that Bell is horribly annoying like a trash can lid I'm hoping it's just a recording

They need him back, kick out Shawn driver he sucks!
He got so bad at drums
