- Found this kit recently on Facebook marketplace for sale in my local area and I just had to pick it up. It plays beautifully and records easier than any other kit I’ve used before.
Can’t wait to make more videos with it in the future!
TL;DW: I sold the Imperialstars and used the money to buy this in its place.

Note: I’m fully aware that I made a mistake in this vid, by saying these are maple shells. I’m fully aware they’re birch. My bad!!! :)
They may not even be all birch unless the badge inside literally says in all caps.. ALL BIRCH SHELL.. If just the cursive style writing they are the pre 2012 Birch & Basswood combo. Lastly, you should add Hyperdrive into your title as that's what these are. Only the HD's came with the dark black nickle hardware.

Nice video! But this is an all birch kit; the maple hyperdrive kit's logo is different.
Yes, I was going to say the same. This is an all birch kit.
Drums look great , I was going between those and star classic which are way more expensive, are they worth the extra $ or will superstar classic be fine, I’m not playing on any stage ever , just basement drums
If you’re just playing for the fun of playing I’d say literally any kit will do. I think for the money the Superstar Classic would be the better choice, especially if you can find one in good condition secondhand.
The Starclassic range is one of Tama’s top of the line kit types, but as someone whose played both types I’d put the superstar against it anyday with the correct heads and tuning.

Do you use a tune bot with these toms ?
I don’t have this kit anymore, but whenever I tune toms I rely far more on ear and feel personally. I just prefer that method over anything else 👍🏻
Hi can you tell me im planning to buy my first ever accoustic kit between hyperdrive duo and superstar classic? Which is better?
The hyperdrive duo is a slightly more specialised kit for a specific type of playing style, I’d personally recommend the superstar classic as it’s a much more ‘normal’ kit especially if you’re just getting your first acoustic kit
