I am mystified that more people have not viewed or commented on this wonderful old series. Put together before I was even born, this is still my kind of television: creative, meaningful, and well done. In any case, I for one appreciate this type of viewing.
Agreed! This is a wonderful series.
They were waaaay before my time, also, but I choose the oldies. After about the middle 1960s, things really started plummeting.
Agreed. I’m in my 30s and absolutely adore this series! Sad that I Have watched just about all of them.
Binge watching this wonderful series during another covid-19 lockdown here in Sydney, Australia.
Great stories with an array of talented stars, the original commercials are a bonus.
I really enjoy these moral stories! I wish that they still made good clean wholesome show like this instead of the evil filth that is vomited onto the airwaves now.
The lady playing the cook and housekeeper was Ellen Corby. She played the character " Esther Walton" on the t.v. show " The Walton's".
Such a pure heart gets rewarded in the end!!
What a twist! I loved this episode!
Oh boy, did I love that twist.... one of the best ones great story! Love these shows :)
These programs are wonderful and well acted out, so glad I found these short well written stories. Back in the day here in Canada, we/I never saw any of these as rabbit ears or roof antenna's never received these. Thanks for sharing. :)
This series is wonderfully unpredictable...thank you!
This is a quality and wonderful tv series.
I've been watching these for a few weeks now.
All the writers and directors for this program have been quality too.
Thanks to David Niven, Dick Powell, and Charles Boyer who were partners in starting Four Star Playhouse.
Thanks to Ida Lupino, the fourth star! What an omission. 😒
@@miapdx503 Ida Lupino was included but it was the other three that formed Four Star.. but yes, I should include her because she was the fourth great talent!
What a very, very enjoyable story, and the acting was so good also. Thank you,for showing this series' episode.
I love Four Star, an this is one of the specials...
Love the story. It's so much like a Hitchcock presentation.
Priceless! I loved this. These Playhouse short films are so good.
Love this Singer all star plays... especially the ones with Charles Boyer.... whose name I heard for the first time last week.
Love the ending!! 🥰
These are great - thank you for posting.
Thank you for this one. My very own mother is that women 😩
I wonder who had more parts over the years. Ellen Corby or Agnes Morehead? I love seeing either one in old series & movies.
Definitely Agnes Moorehead.
This was good! Thank you.
wow just wow....I love these
❤ love good plot twist 😁 thanks for sharing
This is a July 8, 1954 repeat; "Next week", a repeat from January 28th, "Indian Taker" (featuring Ida Lupino) is previewed at 25:21.
Wonderful veranda Garten und hauz. Signorina. Virna Pandey
I rarely listen to Radio broadcasts, or watch films or TV shows beyond the 1950's . Regarding this specific show, a house selling for $9,500 wouldn't pay for the sidewalk today
Where are the Singer Sew Machine ads & demos??? the Singer ad demo stitch close-ups are an added bonus to 4-StarPH. The ads compiled/posted in themselves would be a great, great posting for today's Boomer quilters and the younger newbies, showing the fabric's textures and the ease of mastering the many versatile stitches that can be used for small or large quilting & other home sewing projects or artwork....even stitched by the kids.
very nice
26:16- "Next week, PARKER PEN COMPANY will present 'FOUR STAR PLAYHOUSE'."
OK, did not see that coming.
wowwwwwwwwww!
Partially Concerned relatives question of Concern
Ha ha, the joke was on Frank's sister in law.

I would liked to have seen Ellen Corby get better credit for this one.
