I lived in Celebration and we were the only community in Kissimmee with power after all the storms. It was nuts! As a teacher, I did the "1st day of school" 4ntimes in 2 months. After Jean, they forgot to check if all the lift stations worked and our school didn't have water for most of that day back. The damage from Charley made Francis and Jean so much worse.

Well Bonnie never reached hurricane strength technically, but it was still a big part in that relentless season.

I live in Port Saint lucie back then. It was a crazy year. Was out of power for more than a month. Was under both Francis and Jeannes eye wall.

I was an Asst Principal in Palm Beach County. Schools were closed for quite a while and no power/AC for weeks. One day AC just came on and my daughters and I just stood under the AC vents for about half an hour. It was also my first cup of hot coffee for 3 weeks! No one had generators at that time so no grocery stores open, no gas pumps worked, no restaurants open! It was brutal!

I was 14, living in Port St. Lucie. My parents back porch collapsed. We had no power for weeks.

I remember 04-07 being wild in Alabama. We got out of school a lot from the tornado threat for 2 days at a time lol. That was everyone’s “sleep, eat, keep the weather radio on, and watch TV” days.

You forgot to mention all of the blue roofs...Lol.. On a happier note, I live in an area now that has never seen winds over 75 mls per hours, and it's on a ridge and not in a flood zone... 3 miles from the ocean but safe. I still think about moving, Florida has become so urban and dense...

I remember that year and those hurricanes. Lived in Jacksonville my whole life and was born there. My folks and I wondered what the state did to cheese off Mother Nature that year. We lost power in Frances that lasted for about a week and the heatwave that came after that storm was the pits. A team from South Carolina reconnected us and I was able to have a hot shower in a week.
