Manitowoc Minute host Charlie Berens and Alex Wehrley are grandparents in the Midwest. Their days included old fashioneds, fishing and checking in on bald eagle nests on the MeTube. #KeepErMovin

“It’s the lords day not your birthday” is something my grandma actually says
Did you catch how she mangled Adele?
Dutch guy here. My grandmother says it too (in Dutch ofc) and I’ve never heard it anywhere else. I didn’t know it actually is a saying. 😂
@@jamesdewane1642notice how she said cardigan B instead of Cardi B

In Judaism, it's called double mitzvah.

It's bio-degradable
It’s compost
It's not polluting if something will eat it

"Now I remember why I married ya"
Wife goals.
I'm opposite
Boy howdy, my spouse just said something similar last week when we ordered some Malort on date night
Now that is a typical Wisconsin statement.
Fixing some cocktails in the kitchen in the middle of the afternoon is a great way to sneak in an extra shot from the jigger while your doing it.
Best advice I ever got from my grandfather was when I was leaving after a party and bringing home a half full bottle of booze he says, "Make sure you put dat in da trunk da cops will call dat an open container if you have it up front." Thanks grandpa for your sound advice.
Papaw wisdom
He knows your ass is probably gonna do it again LOL
Did you drive home drunk?

I spit out my drink, unfortunately the drink was not an old fashioned.
Then it wasn't worth drinking anyway!
I asked our 20something yr old kids what the 'ticker or tickers' was, woop- " mom!! omg , tic toc(sorry my spelling)!! " ..... yup I thought it was a cool calender app or something ~
Fortunately* Can't waste the brandy. 😂
Many elderly calling animal chip as CHIPS too 😹😹
I was actually eating some orange tic tacs. Ironic isn't it.
my grandpa (houghton lake, MI) eats the orange RIND in his manhattan cus "that's where all the booze n vitamins is"
Your Grandpa sounds amazing!
😂
OMG I have so many childhood memories at houghton lake, we would visit our cousins there every year, go tubing and shit, was the best. Milwaukee, WI here
Hey I live not to far from houghton lake!

omg when he mentioned the eagle part. Literally my parents convo in a normal day. And also how they greet each other. "Oh it's you" "What kind of hello is that?" Lol
My grandparents do the same thing lol we come over to their house and they'll be like oh hey it's you! I'm like yes that seems to be the case lol
I laughed way too hard at this 🤣🤣
This is the single most underrated channel on the me tubes
Absolutely. At first I thought Charlie was throwing shade on Midwesteners. Not the case...we are one of the most who was instilled with common sense manners and hard working ethics. Keep it coming Charlie we love ya❤
The thing I've learned about getting older is, we just don't give a shit about keeping up with the new trends, artists, etc.

Same!!!!
My friend back in the day was living with his grandparents ( he was about 19-20 at the time). He was growing a pot plant under a lamp. His supper Christian grandma asked him what it was, he said "oh it's a raspberry bush" she was so proud of him.
With us it was tomatoes...
For those who want to call a pot plant something that it almost resembles, spider flower/cleome has almost identical foliage. Lupines also have similar leaves. Plant a marigold with it to explain away the odor.
I’m from Wisconsin. This is too accurate!
Absolutely!
Agreed, he looks like he’s in Stallis Shaw type of area
I'm from Wisconsin too and I agree
Yep
Yeah, we all are bud
“That’s pollutin’.”
“That’s mulch.”
I want to see more of these two in the future, PLEASE.
I'm from Iowa, but this is MidWest..at it's best. LOVE your skits. instead of old fashions..it'd be coffee(the life blood of a Lutheran)
Lutheran from detroit. Can confirm!
In Wisconsin it's Brandy
Grandparents?! You mean those of us in our mid-30s? I swear my husband and I have already had this conversation
In your 30’s and already grandparents, y’all got busy
im 24 my grandmother as a 12 year old great grand daughter.
This is weirdly a perfect representation of my grandparents, especially with the slurping cocktails
It's a pity that these types of bits weren't more common 100 years ago. So much culture is preserved in comedy.
Would you cut that crap out I need God to focus on getting me walleye 😂😂😂😂
Everything, from the "Me-tube" to the eagle's nest and the yelling at his wife not to pray for him is my father in law, rural NE PA.
"that's pollutin"
"that's mulch"
"no that's pollutin"
Nah I'm pretty sure it's mulch
“Them are raspberry’s” hit home hard asf 🤣🤣

Mars S he said “them are raspberries”
“The Power of a Praying Wife “by Stormie Omartian , now that was funny, I have the same book
LMFAO!! i’m honestly shocked my mom doesn’t. growing up she’d pray out loud when we back talked or did something she didn’t like to guilt trip us 😂😂 or spray us with holy water
Right?? 😁
"Lord I pray that Charlie will have a reputation that is untarnished" 🤣
I have as well. Its pretty good lol
The way she says "the tik TAHK" is everything 😄
The way he finished that drink sounded *just* like my granddad! With the slurping and heavy breathing? Thanks for a good memory, Charlie!
“Er no?” “Battries” Absolutely nailed the upper Midwestern subtleties!
As a grandchild of Midwestern grandparents, this is accurate
Pure comedic genius! This is much better than the red green show! Outstanding!
I love being Midwest. No one knows us ALL better than Charlie 😂❤🙏 No swearing and don't miss MASS🙏🙏🙏
It made me smile to see that book. It's rather familiar. My mom's copy has fallen apart and she keeps it in a bag to keep it together.
On Sunday they'd be clipping coupons out of the Sunday paper. Other than that, it's perfect. LOL
MeTube has got to be the word of the year right alongside "nose beers"
Lol, the fishing pole just sitting there
You two definitely need to do more videos together - hilarious!
Lol, accurate. It would have been even better if someone stopped by and grandma offered them some food and came out with a whole feast, as seems to be the way of doing it in my family from central Wisconsin.
or a half bag of chips from 1983.."Well they were good when I sealed em up with this clippy thing

My husband is from the Midwest (IL). This is his whole family.
Grandpa: And people watch that crap?
Grandma: Yes and all the celebrities are on there like Katy Perry, *Cardigan B*
CARDIGAN B LMAO
I was gonna post about that. I love these and I'm a lifetime Texan who's never lived in the Midwest, but I'm familiar with the accent because Wisconsinites make the best Texas transplants. We've got a lot of Michiganders here in Austin too.
That Cardigan B and her "Worship And Prayer" Song...
This is my wife and I and we aren't even 30
My Grandma is from Wisconsin and she says *As they say* after almost everything she says and I have never heard the saying before
"Its a-horse-a-piece."
🤣🤣 I love those old phrases.
"Walk in backwards and they'll think you're walkin' out". My mother, Milwaukee WI, circa 1949
Said it myself yesterday.
Omg yes I have met these before and I can attest for the accuracy n truthfulness of this matter
Charlie's ponytail coming out his hat is hilarious.
No one gets me and my childhood and life in Wisconsin like this does.
Move to Canada. This is basically everyone here.
@@reggieroo02 Whats wrong with Wisconsin
@spirals 73 Yea I think Wisconsin is good as a Minnesotan
Proud Wisconsinite here. This hits different. 😂😂
Had that same Brewers hat and Packers sweatshirt in the 90’s. Impressed you still have it.
The book sent me! I read it years ago and tried praying for my now ex husband. 😂
The prayer she starts saying sounds JUST like how the prayers are in that book! Good job! 😆
Stormie
And then she sits on it and doesn't notice! LOL
"You do a dance, and it's on the phone, and then ya get famous"

The grandparents everywhere are trying to figure out tik toks.
I’m from Australia, find your humour soooo funny and I’m not from even the Midwest.
We're a friendly people. You can be an honorary Midwesterner! Welcome!
I bet there must be equivalents in your country. I have been watching Kath and Kim for the first time, and I feel like they'd live next door to these people. Something I liked while visiting friends in South Australia was how friendly people were, especially in smaller towns.
Coming from a TRUE Midwesterner, Neighter is the maker of this video, they are from way up northeast. You can tell by the accents.
The way he whipped that orange peel off the deck nearly killed me😂
I grew up near Milwaukee and lived in a tourist city in Mexico for a couple, so I met people from all over. Let me tell ya, they all thought I was Canadian; even other Americans! The only ones who didn't think so were Canadians - and they didn't know where the heck I was from. 😅😅 That's how I discovered I have an accent. Love your work Charlie, keep it up 💕💕
Edit: Was told we sound Canadian even when speaking Spanish. "HOlaa! BuenOos Dias!" 😆
Grew up in MN. Moved to KC, MO 3 years ago. Have been asked 5 times if I'm from Canada.
Lol! This whole skit reminded me of Bob and Doug McKenzie. I never realized how Canadian mid Westerners sounded before. Only thing missing is the constant "eh".
People thought I was Canadian when I went to Hawaii for college. My response "I don't know what you're talking aboot."
I don't speak Spanish, but one guy I used to know from Western Virginia had a county boy accent so thick that even i could hear it when he spoke Spanish.
I'm from Oregon and it's still accurate
From Texas, same here.
Florida.
@@CodyUnderstorms me too. I think it's more like "rural old people in Amerca" than it necessarily is *just* the midwest although in my limited travels I've noticed people in the midwest act like this from about 30 onwards and it takes the rest of just a bit longer
I so needed a laugh today. I'm a grandma and my grands think I'm a little twisted. It's good to keep them wondering if your sane, keeps them on their toes. It's fun to watch them look at us like "whaaaaat?"
So accurate.
Right down to the “Power of a praying wife”
Love it.
This was like an episode of my Gandpa Bill and Gramma Arvilla! God rest their souls they were a classic midwestern couple. They could have had a TV show
Born and raised in that great state.
"And people watch that crap?" Realest quote of the video.
My God! I know these people! Perfect video of we midwest folks. Prayers. alcohol; and walleye. Can't beat it.
I love it! I want more videos with Charlie's wife, she's awesome
This is hilarious! So different than Southern grandparents, that's for sure. 😂😂
It’s exactly what I thought. From the second she said there was ‘brandy’ in her old fashioned. Everyone in my family is from the south, except my stepmom - she’s from Indiana and her parents are exactly like this. When I would spend time up there as a kid I was always like, ‘you guys talk a lot’. In my head of course. Cuz, being from the south, I have manners and respect for my elders. One of many many many things southerners and midwesterners have in common … But we put bourbon in our old fashioned.
GREAT!!! Please, more video like this. Grandma is a treasure. Keep er movin.
Best part of the skit imo: Charlie huckin that Orange peel into oblivion 😂
"That's pollutin'." "That's mulch." Yeah, my family agrees with Charlie 😂
You’re running a little broad with yer brush there Charlie, I think yous are present’in for the folks a typical day in the life of someone the Good Lord blessed to be living on the 45th parallel, or there abouts, and of course to the nort of there. She’s been a little cold for walleyes this year so we switched to blue gills. Ain’t the same as walleye but ya know we still put food on the table.
😂😂 that is so cute. I want more. And a marriage like this! I'm 40, I still have time. Lol
The nails as toothpicks LMAO
That's being downright resourceful....
“That’s mulch”

Charlie reminds me of my late Grandpa Jim (who’s been gone for almost exactly five years now) throughout this video, particularly at the end. Except he and Grandma Anne would drink whiskey sours. This made me smile so much!
I think the midwest accents are adorable 😅
