    I had the exact diagnosis as the girl he was talking about. 'disc degeneration', 'constant pain' 'never lift again' were the phrases I remember. so I started lifting and the pain is almost completely gone and my back is unbelievably stronger. Thanks for putting up this video!

      @@angry3903 yes i can english too xd , you have to do the big 3 of stuart mcgill daily , you have to movilize the upper back daily with Cameltoe , you have to do spine higyene daily for all the tasks ,you have to avoid lifting heavy things ,and you have to stretch daily the Psoas muscle , after that you will be better ,but if you want to lift heavy things again , you have to do isometrics rack pulls ,but i prefer going to a phisiotherapist to do this rack pull (that makes you load tolerant again) 🏋️‍♀️🤙🏻😃

    Amazing timing. I just hurt my lower back a few weeks ago. Going from completely healthy 28 y/o Male to unable to do almost any barbell activities was a huge shock to me. Mine is more of an acute injury that may just need some R&R, but I'll enjoy watching this nonetheless. Thanks.

    My wife is 36 and was diagnosed with Lupus around the age of 20. Early on she was told that her body would fight itself and she would have all sorts of health issues that she really wouldn't be able to do anything about. Fast forward to a couple years ago when she started lifting with me at the Gym. She found out that she was pretty gifted at squatting. She trained for 2 years and ultimately squatted 375lbs in competition at a powerlifting meet. Then COVID hit and she stopped lifting for about 6 months. Whether it was being too aggressive coming back or if her body was fighting itself, she is now having back pain. She had an MRI, and was told she has a herniated disc and degenerative disc syndrome. She has decided to go the route of self treatment/PT. She squats weights that don't hurt and is using an inversion table to decompress the disc. All that said, I am very interested in this conversation, and thankfully know better than to listen to the "you can never lift again" advice.

    I have back pain every day for 2 years solid. I also have a hip labral tear. It's horrible. I had to stop lifting and exercising because it just hurts so badly a few hours later. Literally feel like I need to have a truck run over my back. The only solution for pain for me is laying on a hard foam roller for 20 mins. How is it that on a physiological level that seems to help me? I don't understand.

    Back pain is a fascinating topic to people with back pain, or people who have had it that don't want it back, which incidentally is almost everyone.

    i've had undiagnosed lower back pain for about 20 years. X-ray showed nothing and I can't afford an MRI, as far as I can tell, surgical interventions for things like herniated or degenerated discs are not common, so I don't see much point in diagnosing the problem. treatments seem to all be the same. Stretching, strengthening and pain management.

      the term chiropractor wasn't common in England at the time but I saw a couple of physios and an osteopath (which i think is the same as a chiropractor for all intents and purposes). Nothing really helped.

    If you have back pain and you put more pressure on the back. Won't that even bring more pain your lower back?

    • @Comicwiz27
      @Comicwiz27 2 года назад

      well, the spine compresses when the spine flexes, when you bend forward basically. So weight on your back is strengthening the spine without bending it as long as you keep back straight with good form.

    My father is almost 50 and about 6 years ago he had surgery for an L5/S1 cauda equina disk issue. I wanted to get him on starting strength to remove his skinny fatness (potbelly with skinny legs and arms at 6ft tall). Any complications or considerations for him? I'm considering putting him on starting strength.
