Here is a video on a road trip I just completed in my Mercedes ML430 V8. I also caught up with my mate Gerard in his V8 VP S pack ute plus we saw some cool Mopars. Please 👍Like and Subscribe. Thanks for watching. 👍
Hi Mark, Reminiscent of bringing my blue Lincoln to Melbourne via the farm and seeing all my old mates in the FE-FC Holden club on their way to national concourse. I wonder where all the Valiants were going ?
It's been 11 years since I last had a run up the Hume... Still, I do live on the other side of the island! 😁 Those Mopars were very tasty. 👍 Nice to hear the GS get a mention; a mate in London lent me his Pallas, back in '91; interesting car with exterior door-handles that self-destructed and those inboard front discs. Definitely 'Funny French,' but it got along very well.
Mercs certainly don't stand out like they once did. In the 60's and 70's, they were beautiful cars. Now you struggle to tell them apart from a Mazda, etc. still, looks like yours is serving you well! 🤠👍
I agree the old school Mercedes had their own style, that all changed when Daimler and Chrysler merged and their chief stylist Bruno Sacco left. The new powers to be in charge at Mercedes decided to make a car for every niche but not to do it in the old Mercedes way, that after the giant W140 S class of 1992 to 1998 everything changed. The W140 was to have had a revamp that was cancelled, considering how much time, science and cash that was poured into the W140 program it was to become the shortest-lived S class Benz of all time just a mere 6 years and not the usual 10 years.
@@gregharvie3896 I remember Tony Barbar standing next to brand new ones on "sale of the century". Body coloured wheel cover centres, three star hood ornament, classy interiors........I wish I had one now!
@@markbehr88 I think I agree with you that the CL was the best looking of the 70's Val's. The later CM looked a bit stripped down with blander colours and exposed steel wheels. The CL was also the final model to offer a full range.
Thought you would have spent the weekend there.... maybe had a few well earned cold ones in the evening. Guessing you missed out on Sydney All Chrysler day... I'd just about sell my soul for a nice Hippo / Hardtop.
The e350 is a much newer car. You have lots of cars on full reg then? I daily drive my vf v8 Calais v wagon 6l and it chews it for kids drop off and work as it's short distances, needs a shorter diff ratio to save a bit of fuel, but it does 10l/100km with the whole family and bike rack on the back on a long trip so it would ruin that economy slightly. At least until I change the cam from the dod.
i love cool cars, but im having a fight with my girl, i say us let the fox terrier in the bed, even though nothing bad will happen i feel safer having a dog thats like a teddy bear in the bed
VG VIP , small window with padded vinyl roof, VF VIP , normal sized window , unpadded roof . The rain will be generally appreciated I imagine. Its taking ages to get properly warm here, not too bad in the daytime , but still cold at night. Global warming, what an unfunny joke.

@ Yes Greg. I would have a video of that somewhere too. 👍

THX for the ride.
Love the sound of a Hemi 6 on song. I could go blind tomorrow and still recognize that exhaust note was likely emanating from an aussie Charger.
Good effort without a ride on mate 👍
I had exactly that ML430 in blue and a tan interior. It was surprisingly good in low range and would always go where you thought it couldn't.
@@chrispiyarat5507 I’ve never used low range but it is very torquey so that wouldn’t surprise me. 👍
Tell your mate to please keep that VP as it is! I haven't seen one that original for years!
@@noelgibson5956 Yes, he won’t modify it. 👍

Yes, those old ones were classics but now Mercedes has a car in every category. 👍

Just a day trip at the farm as I had quite a bit to get done in Sydney. Yes. Love the hippo. 👍

I just realised that with your initials you’d have to own a Benz. 😮
@@commodorenut Of course. 😀👍

Thanks re VG. Yes, they had another big downpour Sunday. 👍
