- Fed up with getting these stupid empty threat letters from tv licence, we've been getting them for over 3 years now and they still haven't followed it up with a visit, only to get told to foof off, we are LLF and we have told tvl that we don't legally require a licence so what is the point other than harassment, if you are in the same boat how about we all keep these letters unopened for a while and then send them all back at once and do it on the same day, April 1st 2023, Return to Sender day !!!

I know m8' I can't see how they can get away with it, and sending these letters to our elders is just a disgusting money grabbing tactic, they have no shame !!

Complete waste of time, as they know what's inside your letter. Send it back in an innocuous handwritten letter as they've cottoned on to this I'm afraid.

It's been done before mate, and it works. I organised a 'National Return to Sender Day' donkeys years ago because because a certain IT training company used to flood the country with their glossy catalogues every month. They don't do it now! There was an extra bite to this one though, because the return address was a freepost address so they had to pay for every one of the thousands of returns. That's probably why nobody uses freepost any more!
Ha ha just got this, The numbers really scared me . NOT. Ripped up and are now in a really cozy bin. Will defo return to sender next time.

That's fine by me, this is my home and I'm not going to be threatened or intimidated by a stupid letter or some twat knocking at my door, coming up to 5 years now and they still haven't called round to get told to do one 👍😊

LoL I think they must be unopened to send back RTS, there is plenty of shite that we would like to send back but I don't think it would get through the postal service 🤣😂🤣
@@ikabod61uk All you have to do is to put the contents of the letter into another plain envelope, and hey presto. Simple.
If its been opened it will have to have a stamp to RTS.
I agree with sending these DISGUSTING LETTERS BACK but, you must remove your address and any reference to the address as capita will know that this address is LIVE and someone lives at that address, only something to consider?
Not worried about that, we know this address is LIVE cos we live here, they could come pay us a visit if they want but it wouldn't go well for them, and you are right these letters are disgusting, I still fail to see how they can get away with it, pure harassment !!

I know how they could save millions of pounds, but please keep it secret. Just stop sending out so many letters in so many different colours envelopes. They must have a lorry load of envelopes delivered to their depot every week. If they substantially reduced their costs, then surely they could REDUCE the licence fee?

They wouldn't *have* to pay any additional postage, it's optional. They could just decline it from the Royal Mail and your returned letter would be binned.

Couldnt be more wrong, put the whole envelope in another envelope, address it to tv licensing, dont put a stamp on.

Been doing this nearly 20 year, I often put more crap in same envelope to make it heavier so Royal Mail surcharge it more, takeaway menus are ideal.
Not sure if that works, I asked our posty about it and was old tvl don't have to accept mail with no stamp, so no charge involved, mind you we have done it a few times 😜
