    I am going to suggest potato water . I had some left over some roasted type of potates . I cut the skin off and cut it up an put it into a spray bottle. The potatoes need to set in the water for at least 48hrs. Then if your plant is dry water with the potato water. Also spray the potato water on your leaves . Take a cloth or paper towel , or some gauze and saturate it with your potato water and bath your leaves top and bottom . Within a few weeks your Anthurium leaves will begin to grow "crazy". I'm waiting for it to blossom, which I believe it will soon !!

    I just repotted my ecuagenera lux into a peca/pon mix before watching your video, lol. hope she likes cause she looks pristine rn. Have you ever looked at root sleeves? They're amazing for anthuriums! All my maturing/mature anthuriums have a root sleeve. It looks prettier than a whole top layer of moss too imo.

    I love adding sphagnum moss as top dressing. I’m also a fan as using it as a growing medium period.
    I add nutrients when I water.
    It’s easier to oversee moisture levels and gives those roots a nice humid environment.
    Plus I just like the look in my glass vessels.
    I grew up in Texas. I live in SoCal. You definitely have more challenges there. And still… look at your beautiful plants.

    • @PlantsNTings

    Girl, we are on the same Anthurium journey! My only anthurium in soil is my Lux, I’ve got a lot of the same ones you have in pon, and I struggle with bleached leaves and emerging leaf damage. I love the moss tip-thank you! My lighting conditions suck bc it’s either low light with little humidity or a grow light in good humidity. Do you think it’ll help me get darker leaves if I keep the grow light on for less time? I can’t move them any further from the light, so I’m out of ideas.

    • @PlantsNTings
      @PlantsNTings  Год назад

      Wow really that’s crazy we are very similar. And yes I agree if you can’t move it any further than less time being exposed to the light may do the trick. Lemme know how that works out for you!

    YES the only time I get pests on my Anthurium is when it has an emergent leaf and I let it dry out :( My poor clari just gave me a huge new leaf but I let it get too dry and the spider mites... they got her.

    You don’t wait for secondary roots (in water) before potting up imports (in PON)?

    • @PlantsNTings
      @PlantsNTings  Год назад

      Not usually..I jus look for new root growth in general and then I’ll take it from water to chunky Perlite. And then when I have a new leaf I’ll put it in it’s permanent substrate. And then I’ll finally move it out the bin.
