- We are delighted to share the very first episode of Other Voices, presented by Glen Hansard, featuring a performance by The Frames, recorded in St. James' Church, Dingle.
This episode was made available as part of our #Courage2020 output which is supported by the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Intel and RTÉ.
They say a lot of people who saw the velvet underground formed a band .., well this is the way I feel about the frames ... this performance almost 20 years ago made me question my music choices and opened me up to so many bands ... still to this day I can’t sing star star without including the additional verses of pure imagination and hotel lounge and then a later addition of most beautiful widow in town !!!!
His voice hasn't wavered over the years. Incredible performance for #Courage2020

Amazing amazing amazing....
They were at the height of their powers. Many brilliant London gigs around this time from The Water Rats to The Spitz to Bush Hall, every one a treasure. Sad not to be seeing them again in June, but looking forward to 2021.
Dingle is a magical place
We stayed in dingle for couple days couple years ago and we fell in love. From the people in the pubs to the ice cream to the little restaurant right across the dock that has the best fish chowder I've ever had.

Pity they cut out Revelate from the episode, in which Glenn took to the skies in a gloriously mad guitar solo.
Great stuff! But you missed the song "Hotellounge" by Belgian Band dEUS that they play from 24:58 on when doing the chapters (maybe because it's very nicely attached to "Star Star"). Or am I the only one who knows them? Can't be cause obviously the Frames do... 🙂
I would give my left arm for the episode in series 10 that has the song "Friends" on it when Glen performs with The Frames. There is no version of it anywhere else.
Where can I listen to his Courage concert on May 21st 2020, at the National Gallery of Ireland? It seems to have been removed from RUclips :-(

It's evident it was a while ago, they're a l'il younger. I find Glen Hansard has aged very well, but still😉 Anyway, I searched to be sure, and this was in 2003. I meant when it was uploaded which was during TheCovid Stuffff- plus they say it's the 1st 1, out loud & in description.

Who's that on the drums and guitar? Drums maybe Binzer? Guitar guy Dave maybe?
This is 2003 so the drummer would have been Johnny Boyle, and guitar would have been Rob Bochnik.
Glen doesn’t look like Glen. Music brilliant.. ah, doesn’t look like Glen Harsard. Singing..... he looks years younger on RUclips maybe his little brother. Wish you all well, take cook care. X
