God its a shame Glen is still relatively unknown. You can't teach this kind of passion, if only the mainstream stars had a 1/10th of what he brings...

I'm a new Glen Hansard fan. Where have I been all this time? I love how humble he is and how he is able to say the words that we all want to say. If only we were that good. I watched the Commitments all those years ago not realizing the the star of the film wasn't Mark Strong. It was Glen Hansard.
Glen, singing and shouting right from his heart- straight into ours! What a great artist and gentle mind!

I start crying instantly after the first chord. Everytime.
I had been obsessed with his music ever since I discovered Once. But only after going to his concert I truly realize how magnetic of a performer he truly is. His ability to work with the crowd can rival Freddy Mercury albeit in a different way.
Quite a bit different, he's a folk singer, Freddie was the consummate show man...Glen is a conservative unassuming humble Dublin lad...! Glen will stop in the street and busk the whole afternoon to help a few homeless lads get a bed for the night and a hot bowl of soup....

a friend commented that he sounds like he's singing for his life...every time I hear him, that thought crosses my mind and I completely agree.
I like Glen fine, but let's not go crazy now. He's no Freddie Mercury, either as a performer or a song-writer and certainly not as a singer. Comments like this cheapen things that are fine on their own.
Anyone that can get 1000s of people in harmony is a master.

Happy early St. Paddy's Day, all! Remembering when I saw Glen live St. Patrick's Day in St. Paul @ the Palace in 2018, so honored to be there. This whole concert gives me chills, stopped in my tracks several times totally transfixed with his soulful singing and the master musicians of all the band members. Sending chills down my spine! Just awesome, simply brilliant from start to end. 🍀🎶💚🙏
He passed thru Detroit then too and I saw him. He was fabulous. Moving!

Was für eine Magie,! Wieder mal eine Entdeckung, bei der ich mich frage, warum ich diese bis jetzt völlig übersehen/ überhört habe. Ehrlich, handwerklich perfekte Musik ohne billige Effekthascherei. Kommt ganz oben auf meine "must see live" Liste. Corona wird uns hoffentlich nicht ewig davon abhalten, solche Konzerte hautnah zu erleben. Bis es soweit ist bleibt RUclips ein kleiner Trost, denn Musik ist für mich seit über 50 Jahren eine Quelle der Kraft. Magie, pure Magie. Danke dafür an alle, die gute Konzerte, Videos oder Songs hochladen und natürlich auch Danke an alle Künstler, die großartige Musik schaffen und sich oft auch gegen Missstände wenden, für eine bessere Welt.

End of Bird of Sorrow gives me chills. who am I kidding he always gives goose bumps. my single most memorable concert experience was swell season in Dallas.

I've the best respect for Glen Hansard
Saw him in Leeds a few years back and he and the band were incredible. Small venue which they really played to, and did several songs with all the amps off. They also played until "after the buses stopped" - obviously loving the venue and the audience. It really was an emotional evening. Music fantastic.
What an amazing performance. I need to dedicate some time to sharing this with my kids as their musical education. Thank you so much for posting!
In August 2023 Glen is coming for one open air concert to HAMBURG ‼️👍🏼🎉🎶🎵🎤🎈🍾🎉‼️💥🥂🎤 I m there for sure !
