  • Feels like ages ago already when we visited Mellerud and I captured some trains during 21 July 2017
First train should be Green Cargo Rd2 1042 train nr 9426 (arriving 19:29 in Mellerud)
It crossed the X52 nr 9077 (train 375) that went South on 19:36.
The green lights were already given so the 1042 could leave before the 9077 had stopped.
I had to wait for 40 minutes (20:18) before the return train arrived (X52 9080 as train 376) and decided to put my tripod in a low position for this shot.
30 minutes later the Rc3 1040 from Tågab arrived in Mellerud with train 7011.
It took another 40 minutes (starting to get darker at 21:23) before Green Cargo Rd2 1081 passed as train 5551 with a nice freight train.
Time for some station footage (you never know when you return and how it will look) and at 22:00 I noticed a change in the signals (double green light for southbound trains) indicating another train was about to arrive.
It turned out to be Tågab Rc2 1043 with train 48201.
Time to head to the campsite and get some sleep!

I´ve been at Mellerud Station for three hours rail fanning on 20-07-2019 early morning. Green cargo cut off and spotted a few sliding wall cars from a local freight train by loco remote control. The engineer stood at his cabin platform in front of the Rc4 and did a few moves. We had a short conversation as well. It was very nice - as this video. Thumbs up and thank you / vielen Dank!

      Thanks man.
Mellerud is the starting point for the DVVJ and their shunting operation to Billingsfors.
Green Cargo sold the shunting operation to the DVVJ in 2008 or so and only brings the wagons to Mellerud in the morning (3 times a week if I remember correctly) and picks the empty ones up in the afternoon.
The DVVJ railway used to continue to Årjäng but the part after Bengtsfors is closed for traffic since the '80.
Our first visit here was in 1994 (I have many more videos on my channel from earlier trips too) and in 2006 we documented the DVVJ in great detail.
So I have a special relation with this area and really hope we can come back many more times.

@@trainsandtrucks We've been in Bengtsfors for the Draisine tour a full day and visited the Dal Västra Värmslands Järnväg. The aqueduct and the DVVJ bridge in Hverud were nice. My favorite rail rail fanning moment was T44 352 Green Cargo shunting in Billingsfors. I like your drone video for that. Thanks for the other Swedish footages too. Well done!

      Thanks!
Sounds like you also have taken the full tour :)
It most definitely is a beautiful area and one of my favorite places in Sweden.
Yes, that T44 is lovely. Good memories from that engine!
I even went with it on a trip from Bengtsfors to Götenborg (back when Green Cargo was still operating the whole route)
That is on my other channel.
(there are some train movies on that channel as well, but I decided to start a dedicated channel afterwards)
