Pentatonix has covered a Ben Platt song (more or less)--"Waving Through a Window" (from Dear Evan Hansen). It's actually pretty extraordinary. I am generally not a fan of the expository songs in a lot of musicals, but they manage to take something I wouldn't have ordinarily liked and produced something much more satisfying.

This is one instance where I actually prefer live version over the official video. All of their voices just have so much more character and depth in the pop spring version. Mitch’s range from his lower chest voice register to his higher head voice register in this song is beautiful. Great reaction.

I'm sure you've been asked to react to the PopSpring video before. It's from a 2016 music festival in Japan. The venue and MTV did a great job on the recording quality and for years it was the best live concert video of PTX. The set has 3 original songs from PTX's 2015 self-titled original album, plus their Michael Jackson medley. FYI -- Mitch and Kirstie like to dress like anime characters for the Japanese fans. I don't watch enough anime to recognize the specific characters.

Not sure if anyone mentioned, but Matt joined in late 2017. The first official video he was in was Deck the Halls. Later this year he’ll have been in the band longer than Avi, but people still call him the ‘new guy’. 😊.

Oh, no one talked about Death Note! That was a very popular manga series in Japan. I don't know when their current stylist, Candice Lambert, started working with them, but certainly nowadays, they're not wearing their usual clothes for videos or on stage, although I know they sometimes bring their own favorite pieces along (like Mitch's huge black overcoat in Can You Feel the Love Tonight?). So these wild suits and so on may have been selected by a stylist.

Pentatonix. I like Pentatonix's upgrades but Iove their originals, they hit differently. And Cindy talking about Mitch always wearing the over sized clothes… this was in 2016 and Mitch wasn’t to that oversized phase yet. That style or preference for him didn’t come along until later. She knows their individual tastes. BTW, I recently had a revelation about Mitch's style. Time Magazine did a photoshoot with Puerto Rican rapper, Bad Bunny, and he was wearing a couple of things that reminded me of some of Mitch's outfits. After some online searches, it turns out oversize clothing is a fashion thing right now.
