Because I have to sing this in the band I do the whole rhythm on the Low E string.. cheating I know but it works when I'm screaming lyrics !

thanks mate.. when we start gigging it, you'll be the first! Hardest part is singing the "One last thing before I quit.." phrase without passing out. But yeah, I have a Brit Hi Gain distortion on my pod and just smash Frets 9 4 and 2 for the verses.. then for the chorus it's Fret 9, then 6 4 and 2, slide back up to 10 and repeat ! luckily the lead guitarist bass and drums take care of the rest !!

The band is reformed and we're going in the studio !... I still play only the top E string as above but for the bounce between 2nd and 4th fret, I slide down from the 6th, go PAST with the first and land my ring finger on the 4th and my index on the 2nd..and leave it there.. having my ring finger only, go up and down on the 4th.. seems easier

That's a really common blues technique. What he's doing in this case is bending the 9 on the G a full step then playing 7 on the B followed by 7 on the high E
