The idea that Maher spent about 4 straight minutes bragging and explaining how custom playlists work, was almost too hard to listen to even despite Office Hours laying into him about it.

What I like to do is not go to google or anything like that, I just search on the address bar. And like, it doesn't have to be an actual address, you can just search whatever keywords you're thinking of. You know?

To be fair, Bill Maher likes rap (he's actually more of a rap fan than I am, since I'm a metalhead pretty much all the way through). I think punk is the thing he doesn't like, except for Green Day.

The notion that you can more easily curate music on an ipod that a phone sure is a take.
Bill is at that age where he has trouble learning new technology. He might still use a tivo.

It is though. Especially if you put RockBox on those - they actually kind of rock. They can support FLAC and everything. That tactile feeling of the wheel as well, it's nice - and i would say a bit simpler (especially when apps like Spotify continually get worse and worse when it comes to the user experience and interface)

People in the comments sections are really hot on Bill. I've seen him in the mix for YEARS and only recently found out that he is a comedian. I honestly didn't know why or what his deal was. Perhaps he's a government plant to baffle and distract people who take the bait. I guess with so many people taking the bait maybe its organic and it's not a conspiracy. I couldn't handle it and started shaking when Bill thoroughly explained playlists. My woke mind crumbled, and I realized for the first time how easy I have it. The world used to be so difficult and my rejection of that notion is weakening the country. It could collapse at any moment. Truly woke will destroy this nation. I dislike this dude as much as anyone, but like... This is an even weirder take imo. To focus on the fact some people prefer older tech for different reasons is strange. With the way all these companies track everything you do, and not only sell the information to others for marketing, but even spy on you through microphones and cameras, and this is really disturbing in an increasingly more dystopian political landscape. A smart TV may have a lot of cool options on it and apps to appear to make your life easier, but you are the real product.
Many people dont care, and that's ok. Privacy may not matter to everyone - though idk many people who enjoy pooping in front of complete strangers (for example), or having personal tragedies used to sell you stuff.
Anyway, you can create your own badass media server, and run things like rockbox on an ipod while using software that fully manages your massive music library. Itunes was always trash.
But i guess y'all love being addicted to new gadgets, especially from companies that are known to continually rip people off with predatory repair fees, and wall you into their little garden. Enjoy your glued in battery, and paying $1000 to repair a device that should have cost around $100 max to replace that one part. 😂
