Hi Tim absolutely loved this vlog of old Whiston, think its my favourite ,some beautiful stone buildings, the church looks lovely Ididn't know there was one there, my hubby did as he used to work that area for the council. Went to a wedding many years ago at the old Methodist church very quaint. The Ciswo building is the offices a charitable side for the miners. Its Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation. My hubby has a bit to do with the miners welfare club in the village. Is Waterloo Well pub still in whiston? Can remember going there for a christmas do with my friends, forty odd years ago, blizzard snow conditions, got on the bus from our village, was awful on the roads, going down Gilthwait hill the bus was all over the place cars couldn't get up, he messaged the bus depot and cancelled all the buses out of Rotherham, snow was so deep had a right job getting home half walked and some waited for a friend's uncle with taxi,i was pregnant at the time, what a night we had a right laugh though. Thanks Tim keep these lovely vlogs going, well done 😊x
Lovely village, one of my uncle’s lives there. The snooker player Shaun Murphy lived there. Just up the road is Pinchmill mill pond which was in the Doomsday book. It’s full of carp and a great place to fish. Great place to have a picnic. Surrounded by fields full of horses and pheasants. Terrific if you are into photography. We used to go to the Manor barn for Sunday lunch but I don’t know if it’s still open.
Great video Tim .You missed the "Well" on Well Lane. Its right on the end and on screen at 7:28 .Just to the left of the BMW......you can see the plaque . It took me 5 years of walking the dog round here ,to come across it by chance.
FANTASTIC video Tim 🍂🍁🍂🍁📽🍂🍁🍂
