There are so many of us Gen X content creators sharing our own stories that promoting each other just makes sense. We're not doing it the same way, and if someone doesn't resonate with my content, they may resonate with someone else.

This really resonates with me. It's what I have instictively always done, expecting nothing in return, just doing it because it feels right and what I naturally do - then being surprised when it helps me too as that wasn't why i did it. I like Rob the Maritimer too. I also saw that video, he's so authentic
I agree with all you are saying. And yes doing it as a caring person is different than doing it for self gain. I believe in positive energy and doing things to not get any reward back. But it is good to have like minded people in your life to help support what we do and also for the receiver to give support back.
