Thanks for the review, Mike.
As with all the Templeman produced Van Halen records, this was never an audiophile record to begin with. No idea why MFSL wanted to release these...
I think these audiophile lables are looking for anything they can get there hands on to see if they can make originals sound better so they can make a buck. Some they do well with and some others not so well.
Many thanks for your review ✌️ glad to find your channel
Thank you!
I got mine in today! Really looking forward to it!
I think you will love it!
@@MikesVinylExperience listening right now. Spanish Fly is insane and heavenly.
@@aa5az423 Yes!!!!
I also grew up listening to VH but would not forget Michael Anthony as this gentlemen apparently did.
@@chrisw1444 yeah a little tongue twisted at times but he was amazing in the late 70’s!! Thank you for sharing
Great comparison, I love it that reviewers put their focus on "silent vinyl" these days, everything starts with this for me. If I hear clicks and pops I´m out so it would be the Mofi for me then
Low noise floor on vinyl is really a game changer at least for me. Thanks
This VH II UD1S is pretty darn amazing. The crisp stunningly clean separation of instruments is out of this world. I have 4 copies and this UD1S is the best for me
Thank you for sharing. It does sound very good. Thanks again.
Así es, los 70 fueron insuperables.
I have none of these Albums but because of you I’m a big fan now 🎉🎉🎉
I love these guys, such great music! Thank You!!
Recently purchased the Rhino box for $150 - compared to $125 each for the Mofi ... no brainer for me.
Once again ... Pass on the Mofi, I canceled all of my preorders.
I understand. I initianaly did the same thing about a year and a half ago. The Eagles one steps got me back buying them as well as the Van Halen one steps.
I have got the Remastered VH2 on 180g vinyl from the Original Analogue Tapes by Chris Bellman at Barnie Grundman Mastering 2015 and it is fantastic much better them my OG i have and feel i don't need anther copey even though the ONE STEP may be better
@@adrianvassallo5630 I wish I had that copy! Thank you for sharing.
Honestly to me sonically VanHalen 3 is the best I have heard so far. I have originals of all of the original records that DLR was on from when they came out and none are that great sonically but to me Diverdown and 1984 sound the best.
So excited for those to be released. Love all of Van Halen albums, even the ones with Sammy!!
I've been hesitant to buy any $150 album. That being said, I love the reviews and if it were an absolute favorite recording I may jump at one. I too have found the RHINO reissues from multiple artists to be overly bright.
@@brianbillings6815 thanks Brian. It’s ridicules what they charge for them. Not buying the just announced bill Evans uhqr’s even though I do like these albums but the original jazz classic versions are excellent and good enough for me.
The 2010 RTI Bellman cut is the one to own. It's better than the 2015 Rhino & this new One-Step. The One-Step sounds very bright on my system. The 1979 Los Angles Promo pressing sounds fantastic. System- McIntosh 2102 tube amp. McIntosh C2300 tube pre-amp, McIntosh MT5 turntable, Clearaudio Concerto V2 MC cart, Sonos Faber Amati G5 speakers.
Thank you, wish I had that one as well. On your C2300 pre amp, are you using the phono preamp built in? If so how do you like it? I’ve been looking at the C2800 or C55 but not sure about the phono section. Haven’t seen many reviews or opinions on them. Thank you
@@MikesVinylExperience Yes, I'm using the built in phono preamp. Sounds excellent, no complaints.
@@Jamko1970 Thank you. I have not had an oppertunity to listen to the phono sections of either the C55 or C2700/C2800 so am very curious to hear them and hear what others have experienced. Thank you.
IMG!! You a very anil!!
@@roxanneherrman2107 do ya think?🤔
I like my Chris Bellman cut from 2015. I think it sounds great and only cost me $21.00
In fact all the Chris Bellman cuts of the Roth era Van Halen album are very good. They are a good affordable option. Just wish the One Steps were more affordable.
Agreed. One Steps, UHQR's and other audiophile pressings are getting out of control! Thank you.
Was the shoot-out done without knowing what pressing you were listening to?
No, I knew which pressing I was listening to. Since I was the only one doing the listening. I did listen to them individualy at least two or three times, then go to the next pressing and do the same. I then listened to them one after another to varify my first impressions. I did that three times to confirm. Evaluation took about three days to do (I loved it). Thank you for asking. Let me know what you think.
@@MikesVinylExperience
Not knowing what you're listening to eliminates any possible bias.
@@crazyprayingmantis5596 Very True! I'll have to get the wife to cue them up for me. Thanks
