Love it. Your original video helped me sole swap my AM1s for the first time ever, and while it went fine, I've since ended up with a few AM1s and AM90s to swap as well... thanks for the video, all the best!
Thanks for posting this, currently looking to do this for a few pairs… made a total hash of it last night and need to find a new donor I will try the techniques shown in your video; if you were to remove the midsole of the retained pair would you just do the same process with the heat gun, but keep the upper attached? Cheers!
hi mate, i only cut away the upper of the donor shoe so the heat gets in there easier, you could leave the upper on but i doubt the heat gun would be that effective and to honest you’ll probably end up melting the upper your trying to keep as those heat get pretty hot!
@@sonofsolo69 Thanks for the quick response, do you have any recommendations on removing the old sole from the shoe you’re wanting to repair, without damaging the upper?
@@lewisdarnton4588 if it’s a brand new shoe and the glue hasn’t hardened that much a hairdryer has been known to be enough, acetone will also be suggested but that will melt some plastic materials and i’ve had problems with it damaging midsoles too like i said in the video
@@lewisdarnton4588try pouring boiling water into both shoes, straight out the kettle...let it heat the glue for a few minutes. Empty the the water out the shoes and you should be able to carefully peel the uppers from the midsoles. This way you can re-use the uppers for another swap, but place shoe trees in the shoe while its still wet. This helps to keep their shape 👍
Did your midsoles stay glued? Or did they come apart after wearing them? I've been calling coblers to get 1 shoe swapped and nobody will do it because they say that they just separate once their customers wear them? I'm going to do it myself but is it worth the time money and effort to do it? Thanks
Why you dammadged the shoe so much ,put some isopropheel alchol in the smal edges and be patient, you get the whole sole in 1 part. And you can use yhe donor schoe to another nike air max ID one ..
Yes I can, do it for you..👍🏼 only live in the netherlands ,rotterdam... Im busy now to do a soleswap to my 2009 am 90 : 020 ANTHRACITE VOLT WHITE NTRL GREY Because today ,im biking to work, the whole sole cracked out and, to pulver into a bross biscuit...😂..
