My mom's signature was No.5... she was born in 1932 and raised dirt poor.
She worked for most of a summer milking cows & helping to bale hay on a neighbor's farm to buy her first bottle.
Once I was old enough to notice there was always a large black & gold bottle of it on her dresser as well as smaller travel bottles in all her purses.
When she died, too young at age 63 in 1997, my brother, dad & me made sure to have her favorite bottle, off her dresser, buried with her in the casket.
I kept her travel bottles and spray some on my arm each year on June 14th - her birthday.
I love this @ScottCutshall for me that would be original formulation First, Van Cleef & Arpels.
Lovely scent memory.
The original 1980s and 1990s Chanel Nº5 was just such a masterpiece. I received my first bottle of Chanel as a gift for my Bat Mitzvah. Decades later, I have dozens of bottles of it… I’m obsessed with it.
COCO EDP The original- Gets me every time
@@michael_galicia I like that one too
I bought both Lolita Lempicka and Crystal Noir for myself after smelling it on acquintances but they never smelled as good on me (or maybe from such close proximity) as they did on them. I truly believe there's a clear difference between what you like to smell in general and what you like to smell on others. Great video!
@@gabbiagoston ah that's a shame. It's definitely a phenomenon.
Kiehl's Musk. Never fails.
Nice topic! My wife is the one who got me interested in fragrance(now much to her chagrin since I’ve gone completely off the deep end obsessed). She has two signatures that I absolutely love smelling on her: Fresh Cannabis Santal and Chanel Coco Mademoiselle.
There are several from my own collection and decants I would love to smell on her. To name a few: Arquiste Indigo Smoke, 1740, Parfum d’Empire Azemour les Orangers would all be incredibly alluring I think.
I wear Indigo Smoke and love it!
As a woman, Tom Ford Noir de Noir and Dior Hypnotic Poison always garner the most compliments from strangers. Funnily my husband likes Nemat Vanilla Musk (a real cheapie) on me - it is a comforting, close to the skin scent that you can wear and never offend anyone. Interesting how personal fragrance is - to this day I have not enjoyed Chanel No.5 on anyone (I do feel though most people overspray it). Fun video.
@@AliseL22 that is probably true about no5 getting oversprayed
I pulled out my bottle of Cinema and I’m wearing it now on this crisp fall day. Fits perfectly and I’m really enjoying it. Thanks for the inspiration.
I have a 15ml of Cuir d’Ange that I gave to my husband because it just didn’t work on me. My skin makes everything salty / powdery so I generally need a little bite (citrus or spice) to balance things out. Smells so different on him, brings out the depth of the fragrance.
@@breannacarels6479 I'm sure he smells great😊
I bought Angel for my wife. Love when she wears it. And because of your review, I sought out a vintage bottle of Chanel No 5 Eau de Cologne. And then there’s Loves Baby Soft, I was 15 and she 14. I was captivated.
@@jonparker1712 I have never heard of babysoft
@@TheScentinel make what you will of the review. I was enchanted. The scent and the fuzzy pink sweater were a siren’s song.
Great list!
Leather Jardin by Zara is also marketed exclusively for woman, and that one is a great leather Chypre, as I man I wear it.
I love smelling Angel on other people…even just wafting around in the air. Thats the best way I can appreciate it. I also love Lord of Misrule by Lush. I can’t wear it personally but love to have people in my life wear it. Thanks for a great video Pep! x
@rebeccatargett9785 thank you Rebecca, I'll remember to smell Lord of Misrule next time I pass a Lush store.
1) White Musk by Body Shop
2) Narciso Rodriguez for Her
3) COCO EDP
4) Couture Couture Juicy Couture
5) Miss Dior Parfum
I love all the above on women.
Great video Pep.

Nice Tfs
Great video!
@@HausOfClones thank you
Nice video. I remember falling in love with Chanel No. 5 from my mother, it was her signature fragrance, and i still love it today. I also remember that I always found Angel cloying and nauseating, even as a child. Love Lolita Lempica. Have a full vintage bottle of it.
@@shirleycantoni3152 I must smell LL next time I see it
@@TheScentinel the new current Lolita Lempika one is not the same as the OG I believe..
@@shirleycantoni3152 ah, that's sad
I like this idea for a video, as a woman I am curious & don’t see this addressed enough, the male perspective on fragrances on women, & the personal experiences, & off the cuff style.
Still for a frag video, its ALWAYS helpful to have time stamps/chapters, and a list of fragrances mentioned in the description so its easier to follow along.
Cheers.
@@bodybalancer Just watch the video 🤷🏼♀️
I own both Santal Majuscule and Noir de Noir and love them both, but don’t wear either of them often since they’re such big presences, and feel very serious and elegant. I do love a dark rose though. And now I’m kicking myself for giving away Angel many years ago; loved the scent but it was so incredibly strong back then.
@@jennyyang2257 I have heard it isn't as strong these days.
OMG I wear almost all of the ones you mentionned! Crystal Noir EDT, Chanel N5 EDP, Cinema, Noir de Noir, ... Great selection Pep! And I feel validated 😄 But funny enough, there are fragrances I prefer smelling on other people than on myself. I feel most gourmands I prefer on other people because they tend to overwhelm me. Same for Valaya by Parfums de Marly. Love it on other people, can't stand it on me!
@denicheurdesens it seems i only like gourmands on others😁
I still have a bottle of Angel from the ‘90’s when it was an amber juice and beast 3 day lingering. I recently smelled it and I was so let down that it lost its heart. Estée Lauder watered it down and took away its drive.
@@SummerofKittyLove I am not surprised
I have all of these except Angel , Versace and Cuir! Great choices. Wearing Magie Noir over a fig baby cream today.
@sardonicsophisticate3974 well MN is basically your signature
@@TheScentinel I’m not sure if Australia observes the Halloween traditions, but here October is the season of the witch and I reserve wearing my vintage MN for this month. 😊
@sardonicsophisticate3974 it's getting more popular here. But really it's more for kids to get candy.
Haha I had the same reaction to the original Crystal Noir. That was aaaages ago. I still have that reaction to the OG Angel edp. It's like crack for me. 😂 Botega Veneta's Eau de Velours and Coco Noir too.
@@justaddlight I actually nearly included the original BV here.
@@TheScentinel 🤤
Dolls - I love smelling that on my partner. A few others I adore on her: Portrait of a Lady, Fleur de Peau, Geranium Odorata, and Pure eVe
@@lineplanevolume yeah, I think I'd like Fleur de Peau on someone too
Ooh sounds good ill try it on me
My husband rarely ever comments on my scent of the day. But, the one that gets him every time is JPG La Belle Le Parfum. Drives him insane!!
@@kelsea16 magic potion👌
Why do i think that this man would be a great model / poster person for a Loewe commercial...yeah random i know.
@@YS-pt5qr I'll take it
Thank you🥰
@@Eirini80 you're welcome
Fate is a better version of OPIUM YSL, I adore it and wear it a lot (theatre) My husband hates it though :( He likes Angel, Coco mslle, Coco EDT, Houbigant Quelque Fleurs Royale, Dior Addict EDP and EDT ...basically everything sweet, I find this a bit boring kind of taste preference. I guess men usually like sweet scents on us women, but we women like many other smells to smell on and express ourselves. I enjoy wearing Rumba, Cabochard, Hermes Equipage, Amazone Hermes, Paloma Picasso, Magie Noir in autumn (along with Coco). I like bitter-rosy aromatic/herbal chypre on myself in autumn. I enjoy being in line with nature (Hungary, northern hemisphere). I rather would like to be perceived mystical, than sweet. Maybe because I can telekinesis, I can do wind and rain and even dissolve clouds. Sweet perfumes are for sleep in pyjamas, wild chypre for magic :)
@@user-wi5gv8gs3e bad luck for him
@@user-wi5gv8gs3e well magic is literally enchanting
turns out the best frag assocations are ones that women wear lol
@@joshsawyerstreamvods I guess it depends on the interaction😁

Great video! Thank you. I’d love to smell Femme Rochas on another woman. It was hate and love (in this order) relatioship with this one and I’m so paranoid wearing it thinking what if other people won’t like it?! My partner is not a big fan.
@@anah6270 I love Femme
Crystal Noir is toxic
In a world where today's females all smell overly sweet something akin to candyfloss, I only hope one day it will change, as long as it's not oud.
From my early years yes Chanel No.5, followed by White Linen, Anais Anais, Body Shop White Musk, J'ai Óse and Magie Noire.
Oscar de la Rente Volupte had me asking what the scent was. Another head turner was Antonia's Flowers East Hampton, that was something else. Then there's the Feminine version of Fahrenheit by Revson , Ultima 2 Sheer Scent , owning the male version upon release, this surprised me as I knew I knew it but it was nicer. Definitely a statement wear.
The original 1980s and 1990s Chanel Nº5 was just such a masterpiece. I received my first bottle of Chanel as a gift for my Bat Mitzvah. Decades later, I have dozens of bottles of it… I’m obsessed with it.
