What just happened? There should be rules for this kind of anti-racing/anti-competition behavior between the Iron Dames and Iron Lynx teams!!! There should be rules against such tactics! All of the teams in every class of cars race hard all season long to earn every single point they can in an attempt to win the championship, to have this hand-me-down behavior happen at this level of professional racing!!! Again I say this should be illegal! I am not a fan of team orders in any form of sport especially racing as it is so easy for teams to just hand other team members points to pad their totals. It makes me not want to watch ELMS any more. It's unsportsmanlike in the extreme. This anti-competition behavior cheapens the whole sport and makes it look like amateur racing. Race stewards and race promoters please work on making these types of tactics and behaviors illegal.
You must be new to motorsport. While you're going for individual glory, motor racing a team sport at the end of the day. 10/10 times you're gonna allow your sister team/teammate to win the championship if the opportunity presents itself. Same thing's been happening in F1 for decades, same thing in Indycar, WEC, IMSA, Etc. I agree with you for any other part of the season, but in the final race when the championship's on the line it would be stupid to NOT give the greater team (Iron dames is an off-shoot of Lynx) the championship. Dames weren't in contention, and had secured their sport already. You're gonna be celebrating right with them, since again you're under the same team umbrella.
