In every sonic game there is a different story depending on what language it is in even the 3d games have multiple different lines of dialogue which are very different from the English versions with the only exceptions being the 2010 games

I had this from a friend, Alex Kidd built in, Batman Returns from another friend, I had Shinobi and another had Golden Axe. We would all swap and rotate our games for a few months. Back when games felt like they lasted forever but can’t be beat in less than an hour 😂😂

I get so frustrated when people do the whole "play/rate every Sonic game" and they blast through all the Game Gear/Master System games without saying anything about it. The Master System games were my childhood.
I've just discovered your channel, and it looks severely under-rated, good sir! I have "subscribbed" I remember really wanting Master System version of this game one year for Christmas, and being extremely happy when I got it! Looking back, it's a very easy game that can be completed in 20 minutes, but I still have a soft spot for it, particularly the Master System version

Thank you for pointing that out! I tried it out and there is indeed an invincibility effect, but only for a split second after initiating it, and also you pass through enemies instead of defeating them. 😅 I will remember this for next time!
Had this game as a kid. I loved it, it was much more accessible than Sonic 2 GG, which was really, really hard. Graphics were a big improvement, and having Tails as a playable character was awesome. The Special Stages were good too, very challenging. The music was great, very memorable tracks. Unfortunately, Sonic Chaos may have aged the worst though because it's too easy. This was a welcome change at the time when I was a kid, but not so much as an adult. Getting all the chaos emeralds is still a challenge though, some of those Special Stages are tough. It's still a great game though! All Sonic fans should give it a shot at some point.
Thoroughly enjoyed this. I loved Chaos I just wish sonic didnt just warp off into a special stage after 100 rings. It destroyed the enjoyment of running through a level so I focused on Tails for that game. I remember figuring out that most the bosses could be cheesed and you just bounce on top of them and left the controller to one side. I was thrilled to play that demo such a shame there has been no update since. Any loved the video and I am on board.
This is top-tier documentary material, very well scripted, enjoyed it very much as always and I thank you for making it and loved all the detail added and I didn't even know there was a third fan game remake of Sonic Chaos? Have to agree with you on the audio that although the music is good, it doesn't quite hit the same spot that the first two 8-bit soundtracks touched on, this game's soundtrack feels too much like it tries to capture the same vibe of the second game's music as a carbon-copy but can't quite do it. Verdict: Good and passable but not great. The only thing I think you didn't touch on (unless I missed it) was why the Mecha Green Hill Zone green background was changed to orange on the Game Gear? Anyway, well done! 🥰
This was my favorite Sonic game on the Game Gear back in the day. The very first time I ever faked sick to miss school, I stayed home and played this all day lol. Still find myself humming different tunes from the game nearly 30 years later. I really, really wish the SAGE 2018 demo had flourished into a full blown remake.
Not sure about other versions, but I played the US Game Gear version before, exclusively as Tails back when I had my actual Game Gear, and he can access the special stages in that version.
i love this game! the master system are definitely a very underrated console, and this game is much more approachable than the previous ones! nice video! ❤
i don't know if they've actually made any statements about it, but one of the reasons why the sonic chaos mania-styled remake has been silent could be because A+Start, the creator of it actually ended up working on sonic origins' sonic 3 remake. again, i'm not sure if there's anything they've said about it, but there could be something related to that
I played this game a lot. I found it way harder than the mega drive games, but I think that was because of the jankiness. As much as I played it, probably hundreds of hours, I don't think I actually liked this game. That being said, the sound track and sound effects live rent free in my head to this day.

Saved up my paper route money to get a Game Gear (you see, the Game Boy was in black and white, clearly Sega was the smart money for the portable gaming market--with its jaw droppingly better graphical capacity in the Game Gear)--one of the first games I got for the system was this one The music and sound effects make me feel something. A reminder of when my brain produced happy brain chemicals at much less messed up rate/manner
Okay. So I stand corrected later in video by the official name they are given but they look more a lot more like wasps than bees the way their in game sprite is drawn.
Faster level finishes equals higher speed ratings which results in the cracked ton of multiple of 10 points. Time is a Big score. (if this is someone's thing, show off your big ego and your big high score. When in reality it meant nothing but bragging rights.)
I always thought that egg mobile looks more can-like then egg-like. I used to call it the can-o-matic because the shape of it... Kind of like foreshadowingly the Mac Pro cylinder that has this trash can design. I used to get a giggle out of this.

What I don't understand was that why this was the only 8-bit Sonic game never released for the 3DS Virtual Console. Even Sonic Blast, which is a game that is the definition of forgettable and viciously mediocre, had a rerelease there, but not Chaos.
