    2021 Update. This season was our worst season start in history. With 13 players hit by covid, we were last in the league after 10 games. Fast forward to today, March 20th 2021 (28 games in) Steaua is number 1 and just yesterday we destroyed our rivals of these days CFR Cluj, by 3-0 win. Our team median age is 24. Most of the team's players are very young and very talented. We just sold Denis Man (The Romanian League Top Scorer at that time) for 13M to Parma. Another record sell for Romanian Football. PELUZA NORD are back supporting the team, while PELUZA SUD with about 500-1000 members are supporting CSA Steaua, now in 3rd division, where FCSB has its 2nd Team and Gigi is sending some reserve players from 1st team to try and stop CSA from promoting to 2nd division. One thing to note. Even if the newly formed army club team promotes to 2nd Division and than wins promotion again, they are not allowed by UEFA and FRF to participate in the 1st Division unless they do again pass the team to a private investor. Who in their right mind will invest in a team where they don't own the brand and they are subject to the same problems Becali had? There are so many traditional Romanian teams who are looking for someone to buy them, like Rapid and Dinamo. Rapid had a series of auctions trying to sell the brand for peanuts, and nobody showed up. Dinamo sold the team to a bunch of ppl and they all tried to profit rather than build the brand. Lately with a bunch of Spanish investors who are now nowhere to be found and the Dinamo fans actually paying for the team rights to play in 1st Division. Not many people want to invest in Romanian Football. It's to risky. Other venues are better for investing your money. Gigi Becali, as crazy as he is and with his Neanderthal mindset, he invested millions into this club and for better or worse kept it at a high level for what Romania can offer now. He also offers comedy on TV :D You can't listen to him on TV and be indifferent. TV hosts love to call him because he's so controversial and always saying spicy things, that they generate a lot of money off of him. Same with FCSB. 90% of the Sport News are about FCSB, because they have an immense following and generating interest. FCSB is keeping the Romanian Football alive. Without this team, Romanian football would be dead. Dinamo and Rapid and some other teams have decent to good following too, but all except Dinamo are now gone. Dinamo was saved last year from relegation by the federation. Instead of relegating them, they upped the number of teams from 14 to 16. Today, Dinamo lost a match with the last placed team, and are placed 14th in the league out of 16. They face relegation and also bankruptcy. This is the sad reality of some famous Romanian teams. FCSB invested heavily on youngsters lately. Something that fans have been begging for for decades. Becali has invested in a great academy and finally started to realize the potential $$$ it can bring him and the team. He's not shying away from paying lots of $$$ for young Romanian talent. He also tries to have a team mostly formed of Romanians which benefits greatly to the National Team. Gheorghe Hagi paved the way for this, with his great Academy and Own Team called Viitorul. In conclusion, FCSB is on the right path with all considerations, being owned by such a controversial owner. As controversial as he is, he kept this team alive and on Top since he got ownership. As a Steaua fan since young age (1980s), I can be proud of this team. Our rivals always bring Becali up when they try to shame us. It's the only thing they have on us. Or the brand problems. But when it comes to performance....they shut up and hide. This team has a strong legacy and all the teams that play against us take us seriously. In Romania, all other teams play like LIONS when they play against us. They all wanna prove themselves against the best Romanian Team EVER. FORZZA STEAUA ! Call us FCSB, call us Steaua....it doesn't matter. We know who we are. And you all know who we are too. We are the team you wait all year long to play against. Dinamo has "saved" many disastrous seasons just by winning a game against us :D

      Got 42.000 people at a league football game last month, national record for the lastn about 5 years i think.
      We also got 40.000 people at the beggining of the season in the third qualifying round of the conference league against Dunajska Streda from Slovakia, while consistently managing to get over 10.000 people at each and every game over the course of the season(the only other ones in Romania who could even claim getting close, are maybe Rapid). The same cannot be said about CSA, which has been barely getting 1000-2000 people at games, sometimes even under 1000, on a brand new state of the art 31k seater stadiun...

      As a Dinamo Bucharest fan, I can confirm that FCSB is the real successor of the old Steaua Bucharest team. This club never interrupted its activity, just changed its ownership multiple times and because of a stupid man called Florin Talpan, they had to change their name and logo. However, this club is really pissed off, and I'm going to explain why.
      After the Romanian Revolution in 1989, almost all clubs suffered severe financial problems because the Romanian Government refused to invest money in sports and the clubs were bought by different investors that did an absoulte mess. As a result, most of the clubs went bankrupt and were then re-established in the 4th division and eventually returned to the 1st division. This happened to big clubs, such as Rapid, Petrolul, UTA Arad, Universitatea Cluj, Otelul Galați etc. Dinamo also suffered severe financial problems because of a bunch of stupid Spanish people and we got relegated to the 2nd division in 2022, but we managed to return to the top flight just one year later. However, there was a huge risk that the club could go bankrupt and was kept alive by the supporters that were part of the 'DDB' programme (it means 'Doar Dinamo Bucuresti', for more details search 'FCSB - Man City' :D).
      The fact is that, in this sad context, FCSB is the only club that didn't have any sort of financial problems. Since Becali bought the club, the club was never in danger of bankruptcy and always played at the highest level in the Romanian 1st division. Despite having the highest budget and the most expensive players in the 1st division, they haven't won the league since 2015 because Becali is known for making substitutions during matches and the coaches have to respect his orders. Dinamo and Rapid both hate FCSB so much and it's always a huge pleasure for both teams to see them finishing 2nd in the league year after year. In these tough times, this is the only thing that can cheer us up. Their only happiness in recent years was when they humiliated us 6-0 two years ago, when we had a very bad situation at the club and they celebrated like they won the Champions League. By the way, Becali declared some months ago that FCSB is preparing for the Champions League, it will be interesting to see if they will manage to do it (if they don't have to play Silkeborg again, they might have a chance :D).

      Because back in those days, the judicial system was in its infancy. They didn't know how to make these kinds of papers/transfers of ownership. The army realized that with today's evolved rights of ownership, they can win the logo and the name back. Although, there are papers clearly stating the transfer of ownership with all it's glory and colors and all, they are not by todays' standards. This information comes from a lawyer who is fighting against the army on the name of the fans. The club is also in litigations on its own, waiting on one big legal fight to be held soon.

    FCSB is Steaua; even UEFA recognized this and it's been proven by the matches they play every year in CL or Europa League. The generals of the Ministry entrusted him with a team and then put him on trial, by creating their own team, who is still not promoting from 4th Division, 3 years from now. I think Becali is the kind of owner who can do everything, since he is among the only one who invested a lot of money in the team. He speaks too much in TV interviews and it's hard to work with him, since he is very temperamental and loses patience. But we need time, investments and the fans to be always close!Fortza FCSB!

    There is a new ruling (as of two days ago), at the Court of Appeal, the decision confirming the previous ruling that CSA Steaua has the honors from 1947-1998(including UCL 1986), while FCSB got the honors from 2003 to today. The decision said that the football section broke off the polisportiv club in 1998, and became a new judicial person completely different than the judicial person of CSA Steaua. FCSB lawyers appealed again against the ruling demanding the honors from 1998 to present (which I agree) claiming that the judicial person that formed in 1998 was continued by Becali's company (judicial person).

      Unfortunately Otelul Galati does no longer exist or at least not the original team. After they won Liga 1 in 2011 and played in CL the owner put the club into insolvency even tough they had a lot of money from CL. Why? Just so he can have all that money and not pay salaries to the players. The club got relagated to the second division and to the third division the following year. And thus in 2016 the club was officialy bankrupt. Luckily the supporters created another Otelul in the fourth division which as of now is playing in the third division.

    Here is a 2024 update for those who are curious. One thing which was not touched on in this video is that Becalli only became involved officially with Steaua in 2003. From 1998 to 2003, the team was known as AFC Steaua and was "owned" by Viorel Paunescu. The courts just recently postponed the potential final verdict for March 7th (could be the 9th if I am mistaken) of this year. But as things stand, the honors between 1947-1998 belong to CSA Steaua Bucuresti, the honors between 1998-2003 belong to the now defunct AFC Steaua and the honors between 2003-2017 belong to FCSB. As of this moment the final point of dispute is about who owns the 1998-2003 honors. Supposedly FCSB's lawyer has conceded that Steaua does own the 1947-1998 honors. Obviously both teams want to claim 1998-2003, but if things remain unchanged in the final ruling, neither team will.
    My personal opinion: I have and will continue to support CSA Steaua Bucuresti which to me IS Steaua. If the normal person (like me) does a detailed research on the topic, he/she is likely to come to the same conclusion if they don't let personal bias get in the way. I came into it neutral and only arrived to my own opinion after quite a lot of research. One of the pieces I read on the topic is the following article I will link below. I highly recommend it. But to sum up, to me FCSB is an illegal attempt at gaining the Steaua brand by Becalli. However, I will clarify that the army is to blame for it. After the fall of communism, obviously it was hard to find money for the the team. But the army could have and should have found a better solution instead of relying on crooks like Paunescu and Becalli. One could say we are in our current predicament because the army was hungry for money and a quick fix. What they should have done imo is to go to the lower divisions for a while until things stabilize or until they are able to find a proper sponsor for the club. But that is a closed book now. The army is to blame yes, but nevertheless they are the rightful owners of Steaua. Currently the team cannot promote to Liga 1 because no fully-owned state teams are allowed to promote in the highest tier. However it's only a matter of time until they promote. They already earned it last season from a sporting point of view by finishing second. Also there was an UEFA survey recently that stated there are quite a lot of state-funded teams participating in UEFA's tournaments already. And considering UEFA for the time being considers FCSB as the old Steaua, this is a major piece of news and shows hipocricy on their side. Currently UEFA hasn't taken a definite stance on which team is the real Steaua, as in they haven't made any official statemens. While the Romanian football association has stated they will wait until the trial is fully over before taking an official stance. So I would guess within the next year or two we may finally get to see the end of this "Steaua saga".

My understanding of the latest situation is that the club known as Steaua Bucharest are in the 2nd tier with crowds of about 2,000 and aren’t allowed to be promoted to the top flight for reasons I don’t know why. Meanwhile FCSB seem to be doing pretty well - they won the title for the first time in 8 years with healthy average attendances of just under 20,000. Seems the fans have clearly backed FCSB.

  • @xiami11
    @xiami11 2 года назад +3

    there are some quite important details that are missing
    1. in 1998 the Army let AFC (Football Club Association) Steaua Bucharest (an association made by some rich romanian people) manage the football section of the club, the important detail here is that AFC didn't own anything, they only managed the football section (this is gonna be very important).
    2. in 2003 FC Steaua Bucharest took over AFC, but the thing is that AFC couldn't legally sell or give up the team without the Army's consent, so basically FC FCSB (formerly FC Steaua Bucharest) used the name and everything illegally while having no papers to prove that they own anything.
    3. for like 10 years the corrupt generals had a deal with Becali or something and they didn't do anything, but when Becali stopped paying rent for the stadium the army got mad, sued him and won every single lawsuit up until this point
    4. Steaua Bucharest's stadium didn't have 1 000 seats 3 years ago when this video got released, it was under construction because the old one got demolished in preparation for UEFA Euro 2020, so they had to play on the training grounds in the 4th division and 3rd division, we currently play in the 2nd division on the new stadium which has around 30 000 seats
    it really doesn't matter if the decisions aren't definitive, they haven't won a single lawsuit up until this point because they have no papers or anything to back it up, the rulings will not change anyways, they are just stalling milking people that are either too lazy or too stupid to realize the truth by now

  • @mmm91911
    @mmm91911 6 месяцев назад

    Well made. This situation was created by the court, which failed to consider the long term effects of their decision, and the fact that the culprit wasn't really punished, but everyone else. Much better solutions were available, like seizing the club assets, put it up for bidding, and maybe have an entitlement for Becali for a part of proceeds, because of his investments there. If Becali wanted to purchase, fine. If the Army wanted to purchase, also fine, although i don't see the justification for spending public money that way.

    • @xiami11
      @xiami11 5 месяцев назад

      why would the army purchase anything if it's already theirs? you can't buy a single sport of a multi-sports club, you have to buy the entire club, if the government would decide to sell the club it would go to an auction by law, they can't just say "let's sell it to X person", and i doubt Becali would have anywhere close to the amount of money required to buy the entire club after he will pay the army in the only remaining lawsuit and then he will have to close the other sport sections like rugby, polo, table tennis, etc cause he will most definitely not pay athletes for other sports

    • @mmm91911
      @mmm91911 5 месяцев назад

      @@xiami11 The club can spin off assets, like any other judicial entity, which is actually what they did. But then irregularities were found, since the court case, and the worst solution was found. Apparently the Army didn't own the honors, past achievements of the club, right? So they can buy something that isn't theirs anymore.

    • @xiami11
      @xiami11 5 месяцев назад

      @@mmm91911 huh? the army won every single lawsuit, besides an irrelevant lawsuit in which fcsb proved that their name doesn't have anything to do with Steaua Bucharest, the decision is definitive in the honors lawsuit, the army owns the whole 1947-1998 honors
      the only thing the court should've done more is sentence Becali to jail for fraud and trying to impersonate a football club to make money
