What would be of immense help to me is to know local insurance companies that entertain such a situation. You having so much knowledge on the subject could perhaps tell us the name/s of those companies that do accept clients that are in the same situation as myself.
A lot depends on that pre-existing condition of yours. Generally we know 3-4 different companies that probably would accept someone in your situation (only through insurance broker, not directly), but each in a different time period. And some months there really was none. As it is now, I really cannot name one insurer that would accept you, so my advice would be to work with a broker to see if there are some options at the moment.

First you should find if your condition is included in Social Security. And choose wisely the Autonomous Community where you want to live (Forget Madrid and Andalucia).
Hi Janis, do you think the monitory requirements for Non Lucrative visa will change. From what I understand I will need to have at least €33,000 in my account for at least 6 months, this figure will be for 2 people. We are hoping to retire to our Spanish property in around 3-4 years.
Not all insurers cover equally all over the Spain, so exact location is important when choosing your company. Also, not all pre-existing conditions are looked at the same. Best would be to get in touch with a broker who would look at your situation.

For example, "the monthly cost of a plan with no co-pay for a 60 year old person will range from X to Y". And please get rid of the music. It was really distracting. Cheers!
