Dude! I have been searching for information all night and now it is 10am. FINALLY! I found someone that knows how to make wiring these simple! Ok, really though. You have the absolute hands down best information available. I have a set of strip lights no model # but I can see the 151 and 331 resiators and 50/50 leds but no model # so I know they are analog, but want to be able to change the color to attract different types of fish. I have been trying for literally over 10hours for someone that knows how to wire them with and within the first 3 min of your video You answered every single question I have! I don't understand why your video is not the highest viewed highest ranked LED info video. New sub and thumbs up thanks for the info. You da man. I even searched the mfg website for info but they obviously don't support analog any longer ao they simply don't cross reference the model # with any controller. Now I know I can ditch them and go buy a cheap controller on Amazon.
Finally, after having 2 strips with only Red & Black connectors and 2 controllers with remotes, I have wondered how to connect them. Now I know, I didn't need the controller because I only bought 1 colour per strip (1 blue, 1 red). Opps, my bad. I just tested them on a battery and voila, good to go. Thanks for this video, soo soo very helpful.
Thanks man, took me the whole Internet to see how these worked before finally finding this vid. Well explained I can set mine up without gettin electrocuted or settin a fire. Thanks again bud ;)
@5:34 I am wondering on battery common is a negative but when you connected to controller, you connected comment to a positive. I have various RGB ribbons all has positive common( although - is engraved on its end connector but that is just to match correctly with the female end which also has - but outputs positive supply.
I'm trying to find out if I can use one power supply for the whole house and with long connectors because i don't want to put lighting all around the house. Please reply asap thank you. If you know how to and you have to purchase something please also send the links.
Deffo getting the RF controller! At the mo I just got it soldered to the car battery 😂👌 was working but now I have one green light at the start of the led strip? What is this causes by???
i want to use rgb controller for single color led as rgb controller has music sync option...i need help onn wiring whether i can take three wire join them to gether and plug in each rgb or have too use only one out of 3
Hi so I need some help I want to install LED lights in my stairs I have 15 steps I just want 1 led strip on each side and I want to use a motion detector to activate the lights can you please help me and tell me what to get
Hello I a have the rgb (4wire) led lights. I have approximately 1200 leds(12v-5amps per string. 300 per string) I hooked them up in a row. When I plugged them in. They were brilliant for the first string then each string got fuller until the last string you could barrel see them. So I bought a 12v 60amp power supply. Plugged them in and no change! What am I doing wrong.
im a bit confused still. i have an RGBW controller which will have the colored wires put into one end. The other end of the Controller has an entry for an input wire shown @ (50 sec), and the input wire i have has 3 wires coming out of its opposite end (2 reds/Positives and 1 black/ground/negative). i assume these 3 wires are needed to be connected to some sort of power supply? if so, where exactly it the LED boards i have need to run on 12V.
I have a 1200 watts amp in my car and I want the led to pulse on the bass. Is it possible to use these controller and connect them to the subs for the power source ? or will that blow the controller/led strip.
my question is how the hell does the led strip stick to the tv the 3m sticky crap only stayed in place for 10 minutes and then fell off ,is there a way outside of gluing it to the tv???
Hi. Can I use a wall mounted controller and a remote on the same led strip? Like using a wall mounted next to the door to turn on the led strip and to turn it off from bed using the remote? What the connection will look like? Is it possible to connect two controllers on the same led strip? Thanks in advance!
İ hope you'll help me ... I have 7.5m rgb strip and I know that I need at least let's say 10A adaptor but my problem is my controller gives 6A max output ... So is useing 10A useless and I can use the 5A one or what
About how much do you have to spend if you want to get a 5m led strip working. Right now everywhere I look the RF modules and power supplies cost both 50$+.
That depends on how long strips you have. The max output current is printed on the controller. (Mostly it is 3Amps at 12volt) . That is called parallel connection.and a single stip is also a parallel connection providing 12 volts to every set of 3 leds in a series with a resistor.
Is there a way to use both wifi and rf controller? I have both a wifi controller and an rf controller and I am trying to control the same led strip with both. This way I can have an RF wall switch and also be able to control it with my phone if needed.
yes you can it will be set up as an or gate where one controller has to be off to allow the other controller to work at a time just make shure only one controller is being used at a time to prevent overloads or damage in other ways.
i have a 12v 50 amp 600 watt power supply . how many 5 m reel of the 6803 led lights can i put together in one line. meaning .. putting them all together in line
So i have put these around my deck, the one that is connected the the power source is fine but the other three strips that i cut are only doing the colour green, any way to fix this??
lakshmi prabha go to a electronics store n tell them youd like lithium gleicouse 1054 batts (they look like double A batt but little bit bigger )then solider pos to neg pos to negitive on 3 of them this will give u 12 volts dc but wont run for many hours but will light up
I plan to hook this type of LED lights to my boat. I assume I can use the black power cord in your video that looks like it was cut off from an adapter. BTW, thee video is the best one I've found! Thanks
I would love some help with this. I have a very unusual problem. I received my shipment, and I set it up like this. When I plugged it in it turned on for about a second then started dimming very rapidly. It dimmed until you couldn't see it. I pressed the power button nothing. The strip was not taking commands from the remote. Now the weird thing I found was that inbeetween each led is a black thing. Then there's two black things inbetween each one then one again if I touch one of them it's red if I touch a different one it's blue and a different one its green but it's so dim you can't even see it without looking at the led itself. This doesn't make the whole strip red green or blue it only makes the section in which you were touching. The three LEDs inbetween the cut lines please help I really want to use them also they are called lighting ever lampux led rgb strip lights thanks in advanced.
That strip is toast. Check that your power supply is delivering correct voltage and get new strip. Sound like it got to hot. Led's can't handle heat very well. The Chinese pump out shit drivers for all their Led's.
Oskars Lapsa i over rxe in a triangle this tip can also be reversed to give u 6 differant math formulas for electrical use volts x load equalls amperage needed
But wont it effect the controller? More led strips draws more current and the controller just isn't made to hold that much current..... Correct me if I'm wrong
Thanks a lot this was very helpful. Can u make a video about led lights cob, smd, chips(whatever they call them) Im in a plan to make diy led light for my planted aquarium but im not sure how to connect them.Use one or more drivers cuz i was thinking to go like 4 lines x10 leds,4 colors:w-white,c-white,red and blue. Cheers
Great video! Thanks for posting. Got a question: can 1 zone controller control and connect 2 strings that go in opposite directions (10m each direction (2x5m rolls), which is total of 20M)? Just want to make sure it's ok to connect and control it like that. I'll have 3 others used in other places with less length. Please advise.
I have 5m ws2812b led strip . Why i cant run it without a led driver. I have 5v 40 amper power supply but It cant work? Can I work it without led driver? If not why? thanks
I got this rgb lincsys it listed for 12.99 with discount only 7.99 it works great one fault blue button is red and blue button on the controller. I ordered it by accident wasnt what I want I installed a HUE Plus and none of the light strips work one strip has a green light. 4 bad ones.
Question: I have an RGBW strip that runs 12V DC (or AC) with an IR Sensor like the first one you connect (white with pins). I'm trying to hook them up in my car. They turn on but they only show blue and the IR sensor won't respond to commands. It works just fine with the wallplug inside my house. I'm thinking it's an power problem. What would you suggest to fix the problem?
Common is ground not positive and the LED light strips are negative switching not positive there's always 12volts when unit is switched on and the negative controls the LEDs color and brightness
If i'm installing a 20m rgb strip in the roof in my apartment and there ocures dimming can i insatll a small psu at the other end of the strip and if so will i need another rf reciver/controller at the other end so that i may still turn the LEDs on and off? or should i just use a big psu at the one end? Would apreciate some help :)
I've had mine for about a week now. I bought three my PC one runs great my living room runs great.. Downside is the one power adapter blue within the first five minutes I had it set up so I had to remove my other living room one and replace it for this one. Took the power adapter apart and didn't notice any burn or loose solder I don't know what happened and a replacement one is $10.. I guess two out of three isn't bad. I was hoping to find more information about the power supply and see if anybody else had any problem with it.
I don't know if you can help, But i got an LED kit, and everything is wired up. but I am having problem with the colours. When it's set to RED the light is an Orange colour, Blue is a lighter shade of blue (closer to a Teal colour) When i have white selected and i lower the brightness it will start changing to green, the lower the brightness set the greener it gets but the actual brightness does not change. And when I turn off the unit with the remote, it changes to green and doesn't actually turn off. To me it seems that the unit is associating brightness with intensity of green but I am by no means trained or confident in my diagnosys.
Great video, I definently like this setup. Would you be able to provide the specifications for that silver power supply and the RF Controller. I specifically want to know what the maximum current they can provide is. I wan't to run roughly 30-48 feet of LED's, so I believe that I am going to need at least a 6A inverter. Another question, can you hook the RF Controller directly up to the power supply? Lastley, would you be able to provide a link just tell me where you bought the silver power supply and the RF controller. Again, great video.

would be fabulous if you could walk us through connecting the Sylvania Mosaic LED lights together, without paying a small fortune floor the extension kit. ;)
DO i need extra watts for my rgb controller or not this is not explained anywhere at all. If i buy power suply do i need to count the rgb controler or not wtf
I'm a complete noob at this so don't yell at me please. I'm going to get 3 5 meter kits to go around my whole room. Is there any way I can connect them so they can all go to one power supply?
May think I'm nuts, but if you're capable of soldering, phone line is incredibly cheap and it has 4 colored wires that you can solder to your LED strip. It's small, shielded and due to the low amperage draw of the LED strips, it'd be perfectly sufficient.
Blue4sq i use old bell phone line also ,,,i live off the grid and my whole house is lite by 12 v dc led remote controlled lightbulbs i use 8 phase bell line so i can run two or 4 wires to the single colour or 4 wire connection rgb controlled led strips without running ten differant wires from batteries to each strip
Hello Good Job .. You Explain so So Good ... None English Language Guy Like me Can Understand you Easily Thanks ! I Bought a Cheap RF WIFI LED Controller For 5Metter 5050 RGB LED .. I tryed To TEST it with 12V 1A Adapter .. But It Get Overheated And Not Working Anymore ... I Have Question .. I want Bought The Touch One You showed On That Video ( it GOT White Touch Control - Cheaper Than Black Version ) ... I can Use It Safely On CAR ? i Want Put a 10A Fuse On The Wire Way ... And The Main Question Is .. I can connect 5 Metter 5050 RBB LED with One Controller ?
helpfull tutorial but would be even better if you wont cut topics you started, example single color strip connecting to RGB controller and several others in this video, overall great effort that benefit many novices
When setting up multiple light strips (7 separate strips each 4' Long with a distance between strips of 4' ), is it best to wire in Parallel or in Series?
Whether you connect 4 strips back to back or start all four from a controller point, it is in a parallel connection either way. When back to back , farthest led suffers a voltage drop so it is better to start all ships from the controller point.
Your references to voltage terms are inncorrect. DC standards are 0V and +V. +V is your supply 12 or 24 DC voltage. 0V is also known sometimes as common but not always a DC term unless used as a means of DC communication. The DC standards are typically red and black, with red being your +V and black as 0V. You have a great deal of knowledge and information but you should get aquainted with the proper terms. I am an Electronics Technician and all I get is confused when I hear the wrong words describing how to do something.
This is a masterclass in how not to edit a video. I learnt some useful stuff here but repeated over and over (guess I won't forget what I learned) but nothing to tell me what amp power supply to buy.

What are the two white buttons at the top uses for on the cr2025 remote

If you are using more than 5 meters or something 12V will not work, you will need a better power supply if you are using a large amount of LED Strips.

When i have white selected and i lower the brightness it will start changing to green, the lower the brightness set the greener it gets but the actual brightness does not change.
And when I turn off the unit with the remote, it changes to green and doesn't actually turn off.
To me it seems that the unit is associating brightness with intensity of green but I am by no means trained or confident in my diagnosys.
+VauganizerHD pls check if your color of lights wire is connected right
what gauge connecting wire?
Great video, I definently like this setup. Would you be able to provide the specifications for that silver power supply and the RF Controller. I specifically want to know what the maximum current they can provide is. I wan't to run roughly 30-48 feet of LED's, so I believe that I am going to need at least a 6A inverter. Another question, can you hook the RF Controller directly up to the power supply? Lastley, would you be able to provide a link just tell me where you bought the silver power supply and the RF controller. Again, great video.
Power supply detail for 20m rgb led strip
hi
plz how i connect 4strips 5 meter per one (20meter) what i need and wich power supply i need
thanks
+حمود س ا what kind of strip ?
a good 5050 led stip (60 led/m) uses 15 watt / m.

20 meter * 15 = 300 watt.
so you need a power supply from at least 300 watt

a cheap rgb ir controller can only do 72 watt (and its a peace of crap)
a little bit les cheap 2.4 ghz controller can do 216 watt.

a rgb extender is rated for also 216 watt. www.aliexpress.com/item/DC12-24V-24A-Led-RGBW-Strip-Amplifier-6A-x-4-Channel-Output-Led-RGBW-Strip-Power/32250203095.html?spm=2114.031010208.3.2.klX0ic&ws_ab_test=searchweb201556_2,searchweb201527_1_71_72_73_74_75,searchweb201560_1
i would go for the rf 2.4 ghz (power strip 1 & 2 to this) , 300 w power suply, and the extender for controlling strip 3 & 4
I live in Tunisia can I buy one ?
Great video. Thanks for making this
Good video for led controller operation
my rgb control/remote doesn’t work how should i fix it
i have the 3a version of the power supply and if i touch it it shock me
common is ground but it's labeled as 12+?
would be fabulous if you could walk us through connecting the Sylvania Mosaic LED lights together, without paying a small fortune floor the extension kit. ;)
DO i need extra watts for my rgb controller or not this is not explained anywhere at all. If i buy power suply do i need to count the rgb controler or not wtf
You guys should provide some links to these items.
Uh... I'll see what I can do...
Hello
Good Job ..
Thanks for the guide, very helpful.
helpfull tutorial but would be even better if you wont cut topics you started, example single color strip connecting to RGB controller and several others in this video, overall great effort that benefit many novices
where are you buy
When setting up multiple light strips (7 separate strips each 4' Long with a distance between strips of 4' ), is it best to wire in Parallel or in Series?
Whether you connect 4 strips back to back or start all four from a controller point, it is in a parallel connection either way. When back to back , farthest led suffers a voltage drop so it is better to start all ships from the controller point.
I have 5 wires on my led strip. No help... :(
Christ you made this way Moe complicated than it is
Your references to voltage terms are inncorrect.
Good information, Thanks.
nice tutorial.
Rgb controlar kase sate
Thank you for instructions
My remote won’t work no matter what I try
can you help me please
This is a masterclass in how not to edit a video. I learnt some useful stuff here but repeated over and over (guess I won't forget what I learned) but nothing to tell me what amp power supply to buy.
This video amezing good
