I passed RFT a few days ago, aged 47 with zero preparation except for a pizza and 4 beers the night before. How did I pass? Because I'm not a complete fannie.

I appreciate how you use available means like a backpack to strengthen the body. It's natural and beneficial, you don't have to go to the gym and lift weights to strengthen the body, just use common sense 🙂

I failed my first ever RFT in phase 2 due to injury and actually came off and didn't complete it, which was slightly embarrassing for myself, really effected my 2k run time. More so a lesson for myself, don't go into something like this with an Injury, it will end up in failure and in my case worsening said injury.
However after a few months of physio and rehab and taking the tips from this video, I passed comfortably the 2nd time.

Well I’m prepped was in rugby at uni and running 10 mins for the 1.5 mile ( my usual night run I go after gym for about 5 miles in 35 minutes) already squat 160kg at 74kg body weight and gym since I was 16 (I’m 26 now) also got plated weights up to 50kg in a camping rucksack for about 8 months now every 2 days. I only decided to join about a year ago but I’m coming well prepared so I’ve just been going to my daily job and training hard. I’ll be applying after Christmas this year !

Hi Sam. Lovely video, I'll be adding these into my walks! Can you get us a clearer shot of the RMT standards role based at the end? My training buddy is doing his soon and is trying to get a clearer picture.
Also, I'm training for intake assessments at Pirbright and found out there are several standards depending on the role you are applying for. How do I confirm those so my training goals are right and the timing of my assessments is sooner (rather than waiting for the higher levels and then the risk is my age causes problems).

I already know that I want to be in for around 5 years, as i think it will a great way get into something I enjoy doing, and I really like the aspects of army life and being able to learn a trade. I have a question as an American I’ve always been curious about? As you are a federal employee of Great Britain being part of the British army are you and your fellow British soldiers still pissed off about the founding fathers of America being former British employees and some being British veterans themselves committing insurrection, treason, murdering thousands of British soldiers and having an out of control Boston tea party losing a lot of king george the thirds tea? Also are they still wanted criminals awaiting trial for these crimes? If so I have bad news for you as an agent of Great Britain. The founding fathers are long gone. Not even one is still alive not even the ring leader of the illegal army, George Washington. If they were wanted for these crimes they got away with it and lived in freedom in America. As a matter of fact George Washington, the ring leader became leader of America living a lavish lifestyle after his illegal British crimes, a former British colonel himself.
