- Hi Guys! Today's tutorial is an updated version of my Dutch 5 Strand Braid Tutorial . I love this braid, definitely one of my favourite braids. Hope you like it! ♥ Click show more for more details ♥
It does look tricky but once you get the hang of the braiding technique it is so easy. I find it really helps to say " under, over, under over " as you braid, that way you won't mix up the strands. :)

Yashrs Muddassar use a clear elastic to separate and then cut them when you are done that will keep them separated
I will have to try this but I think it's gonna take a lot of patience. Thanks for showing how to do it. I do 3 strand all the time but this will still be a challenge.

If you struggle with sectioning your hair in 5, then you can first braid one stitch with 3 strands and after that take another strand on each side:)(hope you understand what I mean:'D)

I can do the braid but I can seem to keep it tight so my hair always looks loose on the sides. It makes my hair look like crap from the front. I don’t know how to fix it 😕

Can you show where the hair is going in your hands? Are you using all 5 fingers? I don't get where the five strands are not combining. :)
Go to womenbeauty1 on youtube. She has tutoria on such braid. She explains and shows very well. I learnt this braid from her video. Good luck!
I love this hairstyle, but whenever I do it it seems like I'm adding sections to the same pieces and they don't become even. 😣 what am I doing wrong?
+LInk04871 Maybe it's how your holding your strands. When you bring your first strand under the second strand and over the middle strand, make sure your opposite hand grabs that strand. Then repeat on the opposite and side bring your first strand under the second , over the middle and make sure you opposite hand grabs that strand, that way when you add hair to your outer strands and braid them in , they are even. I hope that makes sense :)
