Self-doubt is often the result of unconscious habits, such as beating oneself up when things don’t go according to plan or obsessing over negative thoughts on repeat.
To develop a more confident voice, we have to replace these behaviours with confidence boosting activities as shown in this video.

I have been working on this for many years now. It's not easy to get rid of. Because it was hindering most of my life more and more without me understanding what was wrong. After finding my boyfriend he made me realize why/what was causing it and how and what I should improve on. But still after 6 years there's still left the hardest issue. Social anxiety. It's not like I even think about it. It's just plain fear of talking, mistakes and so on. I found out how to talk easier in Norwegian but... Struggling to even say a full sentence in English. So we have tried several times facing that fear but since I can't meet that fear on a regular basis it all goes way too slow. The improvement goes up one and down one. Goes up 2, down 1. Each time. Already gone too much time. Which makes the self doubt come back. Reading English to myself out loud became whispering out loud.
And even though I talk regularly I'm bad at small talk which results in bad communication. Which again causes self doubt. I'm really good at writing and making art, being creative. But the social things and daring to speak + memory of words when stressed is a real problem I'm continuing to fight on whenever I can.

I think this video is very useful for everyone to know.
Except for that I have been trying for maybe 6 years improving so much that had gone wrong. So this video came too late for my fight. But it's still good because it's reminding me about the stuff that still needs to be done.
My 6 years of improvement included
Believing in myself was the start of all those improvements.
Doing stuff independently (also finding my own information instead of ask thousands of daily insecure questions), believe in my ability to remember, social skills, not being afraid of the oven or making any mistakes in general. Doing hard stuff independently (having to tell my mother to stop helping too much, through the phone or emailing the documents because I should try to handle it on my own. I didn't think I was able to do stuff like that).
Going off a medication that was hurting me with the long term effects. Found out it had amphetamine in it. ☹
I literally couldn't improve with that medication since it affected my mind like a one way train. No creativity in problem solving. It was about to ruin my life. And probably ruined my improvement/ learning of social skills past 7th grade school. Since I went on it for 12 years. My brain was too childish in a way, trying to be a grown-up.
After years og improving there's only one left that bothers me and that's the social anxiety. At worst I can't get out any words. Like a communication disorder. Or nervousness going to stress at habit. At best I can joke and laugh and all with my friends and family.
Practising talking English since I now can talk almost normally with people around me in Norway. 🇳🇴
Sorry if the text about myself is too long. I just know exactly how it could go wrong if the right unfotunate things happen and that's why we need videos like these to help ourselves get back up again.
I think my story of struggles can show what you can overcome with the will and mindset to improve.

I keep coming back to this video because of 'Embrace your self-doubt'. I keep reminding myself that failure is okay and messing things up sometimes, and the result is not death if I fail, but tbh, it's difficult and challenging when battling with the negative mind...

    7. The Other Two-Minute Rule : Instead of spending time thinking about an action, do it, even though you may think it will take awhile. This will build the momentum you will need to undertake the project, or at least give you a better understanding of it.

The explanation of the quote in the beginning of this video problem is a great example of the exact problem with advice/motivation videos like this. This judgemental attitude. When people use “laziness” and “lack of motivation” as some of their catch-all explanations for most people’s problems this is what happens. An overthinker overthinks EVERYTHING, not just things that are generally perceived as intimidating. Because it’s a MENTAL HEALTH issue not because they only avoid “hard” things. It’s over-anxiety. I promise you an over thinker isn’t “just jumping in the car” to go to the beach where there are FAR more people and where people show more of their body than the gym. Crikey
