Never had an issue with worms in bull reds. Just a tougher texture than the slots.
FYI I am a student there and you have to be a guest of a student and to fish this location. This is where we do research on fish population and exc. Campus police will kick you out and if seen multiple times I have seen people get charged.
I think this is an important point. I feel like this video is giving g people the wrong impression that it’s ok to go fish there without any ties to the school. Perhaps, one of these folks is a student or employee of TAMUG, but it might help if you provide a disclaimer.

actually around fall, quite a few people try to sneak in there and fish, i did it for a few times many years ago.

I’ve been living in Galveston for over 14 years… and still haven’t caught a huge red or flounder smh 🤦🏾♂️… imma get off the old dead shrimp and squid lol
Ive fished there once and caught 3 reds and some big black drum came back the next day and limited out on flounder all 18+

Bull reds are cool but the Spanish mackrel is what I’m after
Is it mostly sand down there , I’m a lil skeptical about spider waits unless I’m fishing for shark just because then things dig in and sometimes you can’t set the hook accurately

$10 for couple crabs, my way $3 for chicken necks and catch couple dozens crabs for bait, $6 Walmart minnow trap 2slices of bread all the minnows I want, just saying !!!

Where is this pier at? The only 2 piers I know of are the 61st and 92nd pier.
It's the private Texas A&M school pier. Have to be a student or guest of one to gain access.

The Texas A&M policy appears to be current employees, students, and approved guests. Former students are not included so ymmv

We pay a shit load to go to this school and people can't keep our spots a secret. If your a guest I don't care but don't dox a spot people pay 25k or so a year to live learn and fish.
